Title: Owl in a Box
Post by: CapturedByGrace on February 25, 2009, 12:04:02 AM
This is a Saw-Whet Owl, photographed during a raptor display at a local fair a few years ago.  The organization takes sick & injured birds and restores them back to health, aiming to release them back into the wild.  Sometimes they have birds that will never survive back into the wild, so they keep them to educate the public.  This little guy was only about 3 inches tall.  I thought he was so cute.

Yea, but I don't think I would get too close.

HE looks so bug in the picture, and he is only 3 inches!  WOW.

Heather loves owls so I will let her know this is here.

You have taken a good picture here!

Thanks!
I really wasn't very close to him.  I was using my telephoto lens and zoomed in on him, so that's why he looks bigger than 3 inches.
