Been meaning to put text to this one for sometime now, this picture of a backlit rooster has always reminded me of Peter's denial. Aparently one of the girls who confronted Peter with being one of Jesus' followers, was cousin to the servant who's ear Peter had just cut off. No, I wouldn't like that to be made known in that place either, that's in John 18:26
What a great reminder of that scripture!
Thanks for sharing with us!
Lovely looking rooster too!
That sure was quick Pat, I'll come back to you shortly, I'm just posting the campanille in Venice. That's started a good topic, see the posts below.
How interesting .... our pastor just went over those scriptures today. Actually, he's taking us through Luke, currently, but he references other scriptures as well. He told us John is the only one who named Peter or the servant, Malchus, and that's because John's gospel was written after Peter was dead. No possibility for punishment by then. :-\
You know Jane I just love it when things like happen, it tells me that God's presence is with us, I don't believe in coincidences like that, its God Himself confirming someone else's words from scripture, you know it happens all the time, it's a form of prophesy, i.e. telling forth the things of God. Good thought certainly no comeback on Peter, and John could well have been on Patmos to write this, I am assuming.
The back lit rooster is great, and good tie-in to the Scripture!
