I shoot a 500mm bazooka and sometimes a 1.7x teleconverter. Thanks for the comments all.

This is why it is called a Red-tail.

They are such beautiful birds.  We have a pair that come back every year and nest in our roof.  This being an old farmhouse we have bats in the attic, and the hawks get rid of them for another year.  I do enjoy watching them.
