I posted these on my blog, but I have since edited them in the Gimp. I applied a curve to give them more contrast.
They are a Song Sparrow I took this morning in my front yard. The sparrows seem to be a little less shy than the finches. They were the only birds to return to the feeder while I was sitting there waiting with the camera. Perhaps a little more patience would have yielded a better variety of birds. :)

Cute birds! And welcome to CP.
Is there, or could you clear a line of sight to your feeder with no obstruction between you and the birdies?
Kevin in Japan
I probably could. I wasn't anticipating the ground feeders when I positioned myself. I set up so I could get a good shot of birds on the feeder. I'll most likely position myself a little differently next time.
Thanks for the comments. I noticed the white thing in the first picture, but I didn't notice the rest of the obstructions. Their feet are blocked from view and the grass covering the one in the first picture are annoying, now that I see that. I'll try to get them from a slightly higher angle next time.
Hi John...
Nice close up of the sparrow. I agree with Kevin. Would be nice to see without the obstructions but this is a start.
Now, IF ONLY I could find a Black Kite, eh Kevin? Love your shot of that!
Thanks Pat. I wasn't expecting to find any good shots this morning when I plugged the memory card into my computer, so I was pleasantly surprised to find those. Hopefully tomorrow's weather will be decent enough to try for some more birds without blades of grass and other things getting in the way.
Wow! Those pictures are terrific! :boots: I hope that some day I can take cool pics like that.
