Heavily overcast, on the verge of rain. Still, I managed to catch this mockingbird with the Oly.

He's Beautiful.
Way to go!
There is a mockingbird around here someplace. I know there is because I hear him singing his heart out, but I haven't been able to spot him yet.
My Daughter asks "Why do they have long tails?"
My answer is because that is how God created them!
Sounds like a goo answer to me Judy.
Great shot Gary!
Don
Thanks, everyone. Now, I have to get rid of him. He's staked out the feeding station as his territory and chases everyone else away! Not a good thing since I've been known to shoot grackles and starlings during their raids. This one lived since he made no attempt at the feeders and didn't bring in the rest of the flock! From the Oly.

The colours are magnificent!
Is this one of the ones who brought in the entire flock?
What kind of bird is the blue and black one?

It's of the same species, Judy. However, this guy was a loner. He lives.

That's a common grackle, Scotty.
Aww.
