A shot Mrs. Barbarian did last year.   I cropped it a bit and did some post-processing.

Do they change in the summer to blend in with the darker environment?

They are beautiful birds.  We see them up here at times.  Well don Barbarian and MrsB

They are actually domesticated geese that have gotten out and live at the pond.   But they get along well with the Canada geese that drop in sometimes.    Very well, as you can see by one of the hybrids there.
