I kind of cheated on these. I replaced the dull, grey background behind this Yellow-bellied Sapsucker with a gradient blue. Everything else is real :D

He is beautiful and the blue background is wonderful....great to get away from the dull grey. Mind you the birds sure give colour in this dull season.
Perhaps not as natural but I find the blue background much more pleasing here. Good work Gary.
Great pictures. That second one is really "up close and personal"!
