Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Can Others See Jesus in You?.

Morning Devotional...

Can Strangers See Jesus in You?

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus."
(Acts 4:13)

How would you like to be so full of the glory of God that it's unmistakable to those around you? How would you like for people to be able to know just by looking at you that you'd been with Jesus? It's entirely possible if you are born again and filled with the Holy Spirit. The same mighty power that changed you inwardly when you were saved can so revolutionize you outwardly that even strangers on the street will be able to see Jesus in you.

One of my favorite testimonies is the one Jerry Savelle tells of the time he was in a shopping mall with his wife Carolyn. He was sauntering from one store to another, casually passing time until Carolyn finished her shopping.

A woman walked up to Jerry and said, "Will you pray for me?" Since he didn't know the woman, he was puzzled. "Out of all the people in that mall, how was it that she'd picked him out?" he asked.

She said, "The Lord told me to come to this mall and someone would be here who could pray for me. I came here looking for that person. I noticed a beam of light. It would go into one store, wander around, then go to another store and wander around some more. I followed the light until I found where it was coming from--and it was coming from you!"

What was that light? The glory of God! It was shining from Jerry much like it shone from the face of Moses when he came down from Mount Sinai. And that radiant presence of God brought healing to that woman when Jerry prayed.

Just as the fact that Peter and John had been with Jesus was unmistakable, so was the fact that Jerry Savelle had been with Jesus when that lady walked up to him in the mall.

When you spend time with Jesus, it will be undeniable. His power and His glory will be reflected in you to the world. And His presence upon you will meet needs everywhere you go. Take time to be with Jesus today!

Good morning!  Don't ask me why I have been up for a couple hours already--I haven't a clue!

Anyway, I wanted to wish everyone a good day today.

It's ok Janet - you can be up early if you want.  Your first two hours may be Chinese hours. :-\

During those hours you're supposed to call your friends in China on the telly to see how things are going.

I had to get up at 5 this morning.  I won't tell you why.

Missed yesterday's commentary on the two reporters conversion to Islam and recanting of same.

I'll stick to the criteria that Pat laid down.  Would this be something that you would do if you knew that you'd be shot if you didn't.  Would God forgive us for doing this?  Would it be right?

I know that for a long time christian's have been tortured, maimed and killed for their faith.  I also know that Peter denied Christ three times.    I also remember as a 12 yr old in SS class being taught that during the tribulation people would come to Christ at the cost of their lives.

I think that denying Christ woul be be wrong.  I would hope that my faith w.b. strong enough should the occasion arrive, I would stand for Christ.  I fear though that my faith would weaken and I would chicken out and give a false confession of faith to Islam...knowing that Christ knew my heart

Would He forgive me....most certainly...after I asked.

Would this be right...I think that it would never be right to deny Christ :-[....but for twenty years I denied/refused it....and Christ accepted me into the fold w/o any restriction.

There is only one sin that is unforgiveable....while I am not sure exactly what it means, "Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit"  I believe (in part) it means denying Christ's free gift of salvation.  All others sins are forgiveable.  (Others may disagree with this interpretation, but then they would be more learned that I and I am willing to listen to other viewponts on this matter.)

Hi everyone.

Very interesting discussion yesterday and today on the question that Pat posed.  I heard the news report.  I also hope my faith is strong enough that I would defy the pressure even to the point of death.  However, I think this is something that most of us can not know unless we were faced with a similar situation.  We certainly have the example in the Bible of Peter's denial of Christ three times and then God used him mightily.  I think I will just leave this to God to determine at the proper time.  The way the world is going right now it doesn't seem too far fetched that some of us may be faced with similar situations as it is certainly happening in other parts of the world and what we see happening in our own society is alarming.

Marilyn, congratulations on your photo being selected.  That is indeed an honor but seeing the photo it is easy to understand why it was selected as you captured a bit of God's paintbrush at work.

Janet, I am happy that Beth had such a nice birthday celebration and was able to come to your place to enjoy it with a friend.  Does her friend also live in the facility?  It is good you have been able to get off the sleeping pills.  You know it isn't the end of the world if you take a nap when you are tired.  My heart doctor told me many years ago that resting when we are tired is something that is neglected but is beneficial.  A few more days and your internal clock will probably finish its readjustment.

Carol, so far our son has not found work and I am not sure how much he is looking since he is in the midst of getting things ready to move to South Carolina.  It has now been a year since he has worked.  I am afraid I would be in a panic mode by this time if it were me but he seems to be handling it all right.  Right now they need to get their property sold so they can finish the move and start their new life in North Augusta.

Janet, thanks for the fine devotional today.

Hope this is a fine day for everyone.

Marilyn

Good Morning  I don't go to work until 9:30. I hope to get one mowing done this week sometime.  The gophers have been busy at the side of the house4 but it is not in a grassy area it is where the former tenants had one of those garage tents set up and is full of dandelions. I have thought about putting up one of those tents since I plan on being here for  very long time.

Allis well here. Thanks Janet for the devotional. and Thank you all for your comments on my photo. I am so exited even though I know that most all of you are much better photographers than I am.

Larry ~ Generally I am not tired when I sleep like that.  I just like to sleep.

Marilyn ~ I am glad and happy that your sleep disorders are over.  Are you still using/doing something to help you sleep?  And congratulations of your photo being published...that is quite an honor!  And it is a fantastic photo!

Janet ~ I don't think that I 'need' to sleep.  Or that I am so tired.  I just like to sleep!  And tell Beth 'Happy Birthday yesterday' for me.

Pat ~ I can't imagine any Christian changing to Islam for a fact.  All I know is I truly believe my God is an all-forgiving God.  I know if I were in their situation, I would be speaking to God every second so if I had to make my captures 'think' I converted to Islam, I would to save my life.  If not, I would pray to God for him to take my life and save me from more torture.  Those Islams wouldn't know what one is thinking in their heart but God would know.  God would forgive them, I am sure.

Carol ~ Yes, I am seeing and hearing good from the Katrina TV shows.  Also seeing and hearing things that were not told or at least, I didn't see and hear them last year.  And no, I can't imagine losing everything I have...including my dignity.  I was thinking last night, What kind of devastation in my area would cause thousands of people to lose everything they have?  We have tornados but a home can be completely distroyed and next door, it isn't touched.  My thinking, it would have to be a bomb to destroy everything here.  I pray to God that never happens anywhere.

ohenry ~ Good answer.  Another view.  I could never turn away from God either.

Al ~ Your answer is right on.  I don't know if I could face my 'enemy' and say what God would want me to say.  God knows what is in my heart.  This female would not be strong enough to speak my mind in the face of death by my enemy.  But on the other hand, dying is a win-win situation for a Christian.

Ruth Ann ~ You are fortunate to work where you can adjust your hours to your needs.  Is retirement in the near future?  Maybe in the next year?

Ed ~ Yes, I understand your view on giving a false confession.  We all pray that we won't have to face that decision.

Tonight is us four ladies going to 'Beef and Boards'....a dinner theater in Indy.  The show tonight is 'Cabaret'.

Etta Sue: yes I am still using my CPAP machine and I am so glad that God put someone across my path to tell me bout Sleep Apnea.  Another testimony of the benefits I am getting from using my machine is that since I have had it I have not had to use my inhalers for my asthma. I am just taking the pill, Singulair, daily. I suppose I would have to use one of the inhalers if I were to go hiking up Trinidad head   :D again or someplace just as steep. Also I have not had a cold either. I do feel so healthy and am so thankful for what the CPAP machine has done for my quality of life.

Here is something I just read concerning the reporter and cmeraman and their purported "conversion" to Islam.  It gives us still another perspective on the whole thing:

Note:  When I posted this, it has several paragraphs with lines through them.  How did that happen?  And will some smart, kind soul correct it for me, please?  Thanks.

http://www.jewishworldreview.com | What are we seeing when we watch events from the Middle East on our television screens? Is it news or is it terrorist theater?

Let us observe two media events which occurred on Sunday in Gaza. Sunday afternoon released hostages and Fox News journalists Steven Centanni and Olaf Wiig spoke before the cameras. The fact of their release and their statements were reported by more than 1,000 news organizations throughout the world.

At the press conference, Centanni and Wiig, who were forced by their Palestinian captors to convert to Islam, praised the Palestinians. Centanni said, "I just hope this never scares a single journalist away from coming to Gaza to cover this story because the Palestinian people are a very beautiful, kind-hearted and caring people that the world need to know more about." Wiig similarly praised the Palestinians.

While their remarks were covered extensively, no one seemed to think that the fact that their first post-release statements were made at a Palestinian Authority sponsored media extravaganza in Gaza was significant. No one noted that the men were flanked by Palestinian "security forces," and stood next to Hamas terrorist leader and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.

No mention was made of the fact that the two were initially kidnapped by just such PA "security officials," or that Haniyeh is one of the leaders of one of the most fanatical jihadist organizations in the world, an organization that the majority of the "beautiful, kind-hearted and caring" Palestinians voted into office last January.

That is, no mention was made of the fact that until the two men left Gaza, they remained unfree. No one asked whether they had been given the option of not giving a press conference in Gaza. And now that they have spoken, there can be little doubt that a second press conference by the two men, in Israel or the US where no one will force them to convert to Judaism or Christianity or threaten to kill them, will draw far less media interest. After their press conference, the two men became yesterday's news.

I have used a CPAP machine for over 5 years now, and it helps a lot :)

I've been using a CPAP for more than 10 years.  Right now my left jaw and ear are very painful because of a bout with TMJ, and I can't wear my mask as the straps cause too much pain.

I certainly can tell the difference in the way I feel when I don't sleep with it.

The dentist lowered a tooth that had been capped and caused my bite to change last week. Already the TMJ is getting better. Thank goodness!

And, I have a dental cleaning tomorrow moring at 9:30 a.m. Because of the location of the dentist, I get to sleep late and then go in to work after they're finished cleaning my teeth. What a treat.  :)

Y'all have a good evening.

I used to use a nasal mask, but had fitting problems. I have a scar on the bridge of my nose to prove it. I use the nasal pillows, and the headgear is very light

Hi Everyone...

I've been out today more than I've been in!

And tonight I was at such a horrible meeting and now I'm glad to be home.

So nice to read all your posts.  Let's have more tomorrow.

Thanks so much for all the comments being made in the Gallery.  That's so good.

Now, it's time to lock the door.  I'm sure ready for my bed.
