Hello, InspiredGal, so nice to meet you!  Yes, I'm sure a household with 6 young boys is noisy, busy, and very high energy!!  I had six young ones at one time, four girls and two boys.  Three were born to me, and we adopted my sister's three after her tragic death in an automobile accident.  So I can somewhat relate to your situation.  They do grow up all too quickly, though.  Would you take some photos of your darling little shepherds and post them here on CP for us to see?  That would be very nice; we all love kids.

Colin, this is a first!!!  Marilyn's post acually left you speechless??  Never mind, I'm sure the condition is only temporary, and you will soon be back in fine form.  I loved your poem today!  Similar to the one about the preacher...... ;)

Larry, that facility does sound lovely.  We have a new library here in town that has some very nice spaces, but doesn't seem to get used much.  The librarian who has been there seemingly forever is retiring soon, and we hope to see some good changes then.  She seems to have the idea she owns the place, so only allows those she chooses to use the rooms. (Nope, not sour grapes, just facts!)  ;)

Larry, thanks.  My leg is much better today.  I think I just need to be careful not to stress it for a while.  I don't like to have limitations, so tend to overdo the exercise.  :-[

We got up early and went to help hand out shares.  Some friends had purchased a share and are out of town, so they called us yesterday and asked us to pick up theirs.  And the Senior Center had purchased an extra share, so we bought that one.  Then we took Beth four gallons of water.  She disllikes the chlorinated town water, so we take her well water from home.

It was pretty warm this morning early---mid 50s--but the temp seems to be dropping now.

Ruth Ann, it's so good for you to have some days off.  You deserve it, for sure!  Have a wonderful time with your family, and congrats to your grandson!  Our first one will graduate college in the Spring.  That's a real red letter day for them!

Samantha, that's too bad.  When Beth has MRIs they always have to sedate her.  Maybe by the time she needs another, they will have the open machine.  What are metal trades?  I never heard of that before.  Prayers continue for Terry.

I think I will go see what I can accomplish today.

Hi Janet------ ------ --- ---------- ------ --------  ---------- -- ---- see---I am still speechless! :uglystupid: What do you mean my poem is like the one about the preacher! I did take the time to visit InspiredGals website and Karen has a beautiful family. I recomend a visit. Your heart will be touched.

Hi Larry...take her easy!

Hi Samantha..will be praying for Terry...God bless and take care.

Marilyn...what are big circular needles..do you knit in circles or what. I must do some research into these deers! I know cows use bells now because they have lost their horns..or at least they  have over here! :o

Going back to Janets leg...my father went to the doctor and said his left leg was hurting him. The doc.examined it and said it was just old age. My father replied his right leg was all right and it was just the same age!

And going back to these deer and animals...my farmer neighbours rams are going mental. He had the radio on one day and they heard someone singing..." There Will Never Be Another You"...."ewe"!

See you all!

Marilyn ~ The nurse stuck me just fine yesterday.  No problem.  I drink lots of water before going and tell the nurse to use the tiniest needle she can use...no problem then.  And I was happy that my BP was 132 over 84...but I never have had a problem with my BP.

Jeannine ~ I use Paint Shop Pro 8 for my animation maker.  I think version 9 has animation but 10 and 11 doesn't.  It is easy to 'assemble' the animation.  Harder to prepare each frame to make the animation.

Samantha ~ A quick prayer going your way for your husband.   I am with Terry.  My next MRI, I will either be put completely out or it will have to be an open MRI machine.  I can't say I am claustrophobic but I can stand being where I can't get out.  Shut in in a closet I am fine until I turn the door knob and can't get out.  Don't hold me down...I could never be a wrestler!

Al ~ Great thoughts for your post for Liz....(I read it, too!)[/color]

Larry ~ I was invited to my brothers family Christmas dinner today...first time ever.  So today will be it until Christmas day at Ivalou's.  Then the next day is taking down and putting up all the Christmas decorations.  Not looking forward to the physical part of that but the mental part is ready now.

Janet ~ So sorry about your stress-filled leg.  Funny how the slightest thing can become painful.  Hope it gets better each and every minute.

Colin ~ Hope your birthday was a very happy birthday.  Loved your 'Colin' poem!  You are so hilarious.

Jane ~ I saw on the news last night about your Washington/Oregon coastlines.  My but you guys have had a battering.  When is it predicted to subside?  Glad they got the water pipe stopped regardless who was to pay for it.  Sounds like you have enough water your way.

Carol ~ Thanks.  As I have said, the drawing blood was no problem this time.  My BP was 132 over 84.  I go next Thursday to the doctor, a new doctor for me.  a young lady....figure she will outlive me and this will be my last family practitioner.  I will find out my numbers then and I want to talk to her about me being so HOT all the time.  I can be comfortable and suddenly I am steaming hot.  My hair is wet and my body is wet.  If it is menopause, then this is my 20th year for it!!!  Ready to give it to someone...I have had it long enough.

Nita ~ So glad you only have some roofing missing during your high winds.  From the TV it looks like things were a lot worse north of you and Jane.  Hope your roof can be fixed easily!

InspiredGal(Karen) ~ So glad you found your way to CP.  Thanks for your comment about the devotion.  Since you are about a day ahead of us, you can let us know what to expect of our day!!  You are a busy one....6 children in 10 years!  Keeps you busy and happy!

Ruth Ann ~ Have a safe trip to Georgia and back.  And whooeee!  Eleven days off of work.  Maybe you will enjoy it so much you will tell them it is time for you to retire!  My husband was born in either Rome or Ringold, Georgia.  Never can remember which.

I went out for breakfast with Judy B, my high school classmate.  We came back her and exchanged our Christmas gifts for each other.  She had to leave and was going to visit someone about 8 miles away.

This afternoon, Ivalou and I are going to Kaye Don's family get together for Christmas.  I am looking forward to it since I don't see his kids as much as I see Ivalou's kids.

My goodness!  I have had such a time trying to get in here to read and not get sent all over the place....wouldn't accept my password, then wouldn't work, etc.  We are having lots of trouble with the internet due to the bad storms, so hope it is not evil elves that are at work on the site!!

Thank you Larry.  We were once again protected from the worst of the storm in this small area.  Power went out in the house for only 12 hrs., while others are struggling without for days to come.  With natural gas heat, we were not cold and gas stove upstairs, so went up for coffee.  The yard is rather a mess, branches and debris all over the place.  But no serious damage.  Next door, a tree fell and barely missed their house.

The island has had substantial damage and many areas will be feeling the effect for some time to come, both physical and financial.  Vancouver was badly hit and we had winds that were at times 100 mph. according to the TV.  Seattle and area suffered even more and have six or more deaths and millions without power.  Many people on the mainland lost their housing and too much damage to even imagine.

This is not the usual thing for our area, not the unrelenting rain, heavy snow, or any sort of really dangerous wind.  Have always been aware of earthquake danger, not prepared for a whole new kind of problem.  Wonder what the rest of our winter is going to be like...... ::)

Thanks Al for your answer to my question.  I appreciate what you and Nita wrote.  I have no doubts about my salvation.  Things seem to be quite clear on that point.  Can only wonder why so many faiths want to make one feel guilty all the time.....So much to enjoy about our Christian Faith, it actually comes with great freedom for those who practise and believe.

Colin, you really make my day.  Happy be-lated Birthday to you, Sue and all who celebrate birthdays in December.  I will go and check out InspiredGal's site and also welcome her.  My sister and her family live in Australia.

Must go and get busy now.  Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Welcome to our newest member.  I know you will enjoy being here.

Happy birthday to those who have December birthdays.  And many more.

I have enjoyed reading each post.  There sure is a lot to think about.

Pat be sure to let Judy know I am praying.  She sure has been through a lot this year.

I am not able to comment on each post, but to those of you who have needs know I pray on a daily basis for each of you.

John and I are heading out to Earlton on onday morning.  It is about a two hour drive, so we will be leaving early.  Tomorrow is a full day of church and in the evening a children's concert.  We are looking forward to hearing the kiddies, they always do such a good job at presenting the Christmas story.

Bye for now
God Bless

I had to buy sour cream for a recipe taking to a party this afternoon - it almost wasn't worth the effort to drive with the chaos surrounding the season.

Inspiredgal:  Welcome.  I will be looking for your story of your missionary works.

EttaSue:  20 years of warm tropical short vacations - that is too much.  At times, I will step outside even in a chilly blizzard - so refreshing but most of the time, I am chilly.

Samantha:  I failed to mention you last post - thinking of you.

Liz:  Here, we are suffing a drought and you have too much rain.  You could build another pipeline.

Colin:  You shouldn't have sweets before going to bed anyway.   ;D

Pat:   Wherever you are - I am actually hearing Christmas music in stores.  Unvelievable.

Carol

Hi Etta Sue...I was wondering where you were. I had a very nice birthday thank you. I will not comment on your medical conditions at all....just hope you get sorted out! I am neither a doctor or a plumber and know absolutely nothing about flushes...whether hot or cold! ::)  Nice you are getting asked to your brothers house. Take care.

Hi Liz....thank you for your belated happy birthday. Take care.

Hi Carol...I could have saved you the bother driving around for sour cream..they say I have a face on me that could sour buttermilk at times! >:( Tea is too wet to have without a little bun or biscuit!  Take care.

Hi JudyB...thank you for your happy birthday. You and John take care.

Hope you are ok Pat wherever you are and I am thinking and praying for Judy. Take care.

Joy to the World
(Click to hear music)

I bring you good tidings of great joy.
Luke 2:10

Words: Isaac Watts, The Psalms of David, 1719.

Music: "Antioch," arranged by Lowell Mason, 1836

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

IT WAS LOVE

It was love; perfect love
Higher than the heavens above
Deeper than the mighty ocean
Which set God's plan of salvation in motion

Before the stars danced in the sky
In an eternity that is by
Before creation cried in birth
He planned to send His Son to earth

Before mankind had living breath
His beloved Son knew He would taste of death
Before the hills of Earth were trod
He must die for a world loved by God

When God He spoke and time began
Already in place salvation's plan
When sin oppressed a fallen race
Mankind needed saving grace

With tender heart the God of love
Sent His only Son from above
To manger bed; then centre tree
Born to die for you and me

It was love from God to send His Son
It was love from Christ to see it done
Salvation's plan was now complete
The risen Saviour with death and sin in defeat

I love Him now for He loving me
Called so gently; I died for thee
I will prepare for you a place in Heaven above
If you give me your heart and give me your love

What love is this that for sinners lost?
Would see the Father send His Son to pay the cost
To save dying souls for homes above
It is perfect; for God is Love

Lovely carol Pat. Thank you for posting it. Take care.

Hi Kevin...imagine a pastor being busy at the weekend indeed! ::)

Goodnight everyone....God bless!

Colin, the poem (or maybe it was a story) about the preacher was similar to your poem.....seemed he didn't want to go to church, etc, and argues with his mother, until she had to remind him that he was the pastor!

Pat, any word yet on how Judy Mc is doing?

I spent the afternoon at the care home doing Christmas cards for Beth and Mom.  I wish I had more available time, as I know there are others there who need help with such things.  Neither Mom nor Beth can write more than a few words any more, until their writing degenerates into chicken scratches.  :(  Mom used to have the most beautiful handwriting I have ever seen!

I am off to spend some time with my neglected spouse!  ;)

Well, friends, as you would suspect, our God answers prayer! He did just that BIG TIME today.

Some of you have prayed with me about some painful situations amongst my family. Well, here's the "rest of the story."

The graduation was great. A small graduating class (from a small college and in mid-winter also) of 110. And, of course, as is the fashion these days, some elected not to attend the ceremony. My, our almost two rows of family and friends were certainly proud as "our guy" was announced as obtaining two bachelors degrees - a BA in religion and a BS in premed. There were only 2 graduates taking 2 degrees.

Then, his fiancee and parents had arranged for a meeting room at a hotel and had finger foods and sweets. Everyone gathered there, and a good time was had by all. My son who lives with me was unable to attend because of one of his bad headaches, but it certainly was wonderful to be with the other 3, their families with significant others, ex's, grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins galore.

Such a congenial group, I love it when a group of folk who have known each other for years but live in widely separated places get together. You can tell when it's a good gathering when people mix and mingle, and move freely from one group to another.

And, how great that before anyone touched the foods that his fiancee and parents had prepared, my grandson had a moment of prayer. Oh, how that touched me. And, I saw some folk who had vowed never to be with someone again, not only talk with that person, but actually I wiped the tears of joy as I watched them hug.

Thank you, God!

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Jane Walker

Such a beautiful "rest of the story" Ruth Ann!  I am so happy for you and the others who found healing and fellowship today.  <3

I had another "adventure" today, and my car is now tucked in safely at a local auto repair shop waiting for Monday morning when the mechanic can tell me what's wrong and how he plans to fix it and (gulp) how much it's going to cost me!  :-\

I'll save the excitement of the story for later ... right now I just want to rejoice with my dear friend Ruth Ann ....   :)   :)

Oh, Jane!  Your life is just so exciting.   I'm glad your Father is rich.

Ruth Ann....I agree with Jane, your "rest of the story" is beautiful.

Colin, I laughed at your first poem, and copied your second. :)  So beautiful, both inspired and inspiring.

Tomorrow is our Christmas Party and gift exchange at church.  I'm taking sweet and sour chicken with rice, and Sue has made a yummy cake with an orange glaze.

Janet, are Beth and your mom in the same nursing home?

Kevin, that'd be neat to hear the handbell concert.

Liz, I'm glad you are ok.  This was quite a storm and as you say, north of Jane and I were hit hard.

My day has ended and I'm headed to bed.  My "boys" are already crashed in the living room, and my sis is upstairs asleep. (hopefully her head stays dry.  My roof isn't fixed and I forgot to tell her)

Blessings,  Nita

Colin

Hi Janet...I did hear the story of the preacher not wanting to go to church until his mother reminded him he was the pastor! Hope you have a lovely day and God bless!

Hi Ruth Ann Bice...what a beautiful story and how God has answered prayers! I feel the joy and happiness in each word of your post. God bless!

Hi Jane...sorry about the car...they are an expensive item! Hope it will not cost you too much. Take care and God bless.

Hi Nita.....so glad you like my poems and thank you for your kind words. Enjoy your Christmas party. Hope you get the roof repaired. Take care and God bless.

Hello to everyone else who will be on here later. Hope you all have a great day. God bless!

Good Sunday to all,

We had fun at the surprise birthday party yesterday.  Our daughter called and said that grandson appreciates the ice skate my father wore & hangs them right where he can see them from his bed - so that would be his great-grandfather's skates.  Am so glad that I kept them.

It is cold enough outside to skate but I prefer to slowly awaken today.

Ruth Ann:  I am so happy that you had such a delightful gathering.

Carol

Etta Sue

What a wonderful day yesterday.  First I went with Judy, classmate, out for breakfast.  We came back here and exchanged gifts and talked, played with the furkids and talked, looked at my Christmas decorations and talked.

She left and I got ready to go to my niece's for Chritmas dinner with Kaye Don and all his kids, and grandkids.  There was 25 of us there and what a hugging family.  I sure feel loved by them all.

Then Kitty had said she was going to be home by herself yesterday and last night that her husband was going to a Purdue basketball game with some guys and for me come over and keep her company.    So I went to Kitty's.  She needed something to eat so we went to a pizza place for that.  And then back to her house and talked and talked and talked.  Her husband came home around 10pm and we talked about old times and people we knew in the community that have long passed away and finding out that we are distantly related because we have the same Anderson family's are relation.  I said around 11 that I needed to get back home and he said, 'No, stay!  I am enjoying this.'  So I stayed another 45 minutes or so.

I got home and got into bed.  I was all keyed up because of such a wonderful day so I got my book.  I finished my book and finally shut off my light around 1:30am.  Still keyed up and couldn't sleep.  I woke around 5:45am and shut off the alarm.

So I didn't go to church today.... :'( :'(  I very seldom do that...miss church but I was just too tired to get up and get ready.  So I spent extra time with God this morning during my devotions...thanking Him for giving me this wonderful worldly family and wonderful worldly friends to love.  Thank you, God.

Wow Etta Sue you had quite a fulfilling day. I see by your  temperature  thing that it is 56 ° where you are. It is only 37 ° here, COLD, however I have already  been out in the backyard to clean up after the dogs before I go to church and without a sweater.

I am trying to knit a  little scarf using circular needles. So far so good, it took me awhile to remember how to cast on then I had to look at a book.

For some reason Bebe decided to attack Happy this morning more than the usual just play fighting they usually do. I had to break them up and swat Bebe on the behind a few times; Happy wasn't fighting back. Then I sat down with Happy and  snuggled him while I checked him out to see if he was hurt. No damage thank you Jesus. However he was  kind of traumatized so I just cuddled him for  quite a while to calm him down. He now is  in the bedroom  laying down  staying away from her.

Gotta go now and fill the bird feeder so the birdies can have something to eat.

later.

Good Sunday to All,

Thanks Etta Sue, have yet to play with that. The 2 I did make I did in ImageReady.

Thank You Lord for keeping all our friends on the west coast and whereever else there was bad weather safe.

Welcome InspiredGal! :)

Colin, love your poems, that last really touched me, Thanks!

Things here have been busy, after giving up on the church computer one of our members took it to a computer place, go figure, it was the hard drive. :-[ But Pastor Kevin said not to feel guilty for not fixing it, I felt really bad.

Worked on getting "Frankenstein" up and running for dad. Just a couple more tweaks and it'll be ready for him. BTW "Frankenstein" is made up of leftover parts I had floating around from other offerings. It's looking good for him.

Figured out how to get the ppt up and running at church this morning. Someone had the forsight to wire in the projectors to the monitor, just hooked the monitor into a now working laptop that didn't work when I got it and used openoffice and they were happy.

And the best news is that Michael will be 10 tomorrow!  :cheer:  for those who don't know, Michael was not supposed to live that long, at least that's what they thought. They said the first pneumonia he got would kill him, God has a reason for him to be here and I Thank Him everyday and enjoy Michael. <3

Hope everyone has a God filled and blessed day!  <3

Trusting,

Ruth Ann, I'm rejoicing with you!!  And praying that the healing continues.

Happy Birthday to Michael--tomorrow!  But go ahead and have a happy day today, too.

I had an interesting thing happen this morning.  As we were leaving church, on the next-to-bottom step, my knee gave way, and I sprawled, very hard, on the concrete.  Did it hurt? Well, I will say, that is the first time I can ever remember falling and not scrambling up quickly, hoping nobody saw me.  :-[  Yes, it hurt---both knees and both hands.  Darrel and another strong young man came and helped me up, and to the car.   Now Darrel hopes to keep me  :calm: for the rest of the day, but I want to go to the museum to hear several groups of children sing.

Good morning everyone! Sending you all a big Aussie "G'Day!"

I'm blown away by your love and welcome and i can see that I have to check here often to keep up with you all! LOL!

I wasn't able to get any good shots of my kids dressed as shepherds in the Christmas production at church, but I'm posting here our family photo. It's over 12 months old, sorry about that.

From left to right: Joshua - 10 years, George (my darling husband), Yowceph - 5 years, Karen (me), Moses - 2 years, Isaiah - 12 years, Isaac - 11 years, and David - 8 years. This is the boys present ages. :)

We have started Monday relaxing after our big day yesterday. But this week leading up to Christmas will be busy, as I still haven't started my Christmas shopping!

Have a wonderful Sunday, each one. :)

Love,

Hi Karen ... and  :welcome:  ;D   I visited your site last night and saw/read about your family there.  That is a great photo, by the way!

Pat~ I really admire you for all the work you do for us here.  Much of it is that sort of "behind the scenes" stuff that we may never know about but what keeps everything running so smoothly.

I'm really looking forward to getting to know you in the coming days and months together here.

I can't even get Happy to eat a doggie biscuit and I bought some special ones just for him. He is still so traumatized that he won't come out of the bedroom. Ilooked again at his ear and  there is some dried blood in there but he won;t let me clean it or touch it he yelps when I try then he growls and snaps at me. I am so worried about him. I am very angry with Bebe and left her outside inthe cold for about an hour as she kept on scratching to come in. I am sorry to go on like this but my fur babies are  so precious to me.  :(

boo hoo  :( :(

Janet I am so sorry to hear about your fall. I think you should see the Doctor about that knee.

Ouch! Dogfights, falls, other traumatizing events. I'm so sorry and will be praying that life will get better. Janet, do take care of yourself. Marilyn, hope your fur babies progress much more nicely and that the injuries healed.

I didn't realize when I agreed to go to Atlanta to spend the night yesterday, that this morning was their big Christmas presentation. It certainly was good to see my son standing in the choir's front row, and it was also sweet to see our precious Georgia steal up to the front and end up in her father's loving arms as the last song was being sung.

I'm home safely, tired but oh so grateful for this weekend.

Pat, I'm really sorry about the imposters.

Thank you - each of you - for being who you are. You mean lots to me, and I thank God for each of you.

...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Pat:  So sorry about all the extra work you have regarding evil ones.  They are everywhere - I even had an email with my entire name including maiden name that they had to get from my high school list and if it wasn't porn.  So, they are searching for names everywhere.  Wish we could help you.

Karen:  Now I see your name - nice picture of the family.  G'Day!

Janet:  When your leg or knee collapsed, was it the one that has been bothering you after exercise?  I was wondering if a muscle has been stretched too much.  Just a thought.

Jane:  Now that you told me where the button is - I shall use it if needed.  Let's hope not.  Are the storms over in your area?  We just have snowfall today but have not heard of winds although we are very used to high winds off the mountains.

G'night.  That is Australian for Good night.  G'morning Colin!!!
