Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hi Everyone!

I had the game on while I did some scrapbooking, so I mostly listened and then saw the plays when they played them back.  I was rooting for the Colts, just because I'm not really into football that much (other than our undefeated Boise State Fiesta Bowl 2007winners) so I just pick a team to root for to make it exciting and I happen to love horses.  We also changed the channel during half-time.  Ick.

Everyone-I had something terrible happen this weekend that I wanted to tell you all about.  I deleted some photos from my microdrive that I thought I had already downloaded.  :idiot:  They were of my daughter's filming on the 27th.  The second shooting day of her Naria spoof movie she's doing, so they were quite important to me! I was sick to my stomach over it.  So, I prayed and tried to calm down.  I called our local camera store and they wanted a non-refundable $25 just to see if they could see the files and another $75 for any file or files they recovered.  Well, I went online and found recovery software that I purchased ($30) and downloaded.  It recovered all but 6 of my files!  Praise the Lord for leading me to that software!  It's already paid for itself.

My oldest daughter turned SWEET 16 Saturday and had a wonderful day of filming Narnia and eating pizza, cake and ice cream with her sis and about 15 of her friends!  A great time was had by all.  That evening, my husband dressed up-even wore a tie and took her out on a date.   <3  He showed her how a young man should treat a lady!
Anything less, and he's gone!  She will be courting rather than dating, but still...

Sarah, my youngest daughter, and I are having fun working on the ministry pages of the church directory.   :)

Marilyn- :hbirthday:  Sorry, these smiles here are about the only graphics I know how to post. (besides photos)  I pray that God blesses your special day!

Everyone else-have a great day!  I will sign off for now.
Blessings,
Kathleen

Jeannine...I have noted what you have said about Manchester United and boy..you are really for it now.  :clobber: You are in HOT water now my girl! <3 ^-^

Take care everyone...I nearly forgot to say...my friend Marys daughter came to know the Lord before she so tragically died. I had this confirmed to me today by Mary. This is such a joy and relief to know and Mary thanks you all for all your support and prayers.

Good night everyone!

Thank you all for the wonderful Birthday wishes. I really appreciate them all.

Happy 36th Anniversary to JudyB and Bonesy.

I don't have to go back to Ruth's this evening she gave  me the evening off since the kids are coming over. I have been out walking the dogs, made a phone call to the cable company, I need a new modem.  I will take it next time I go to Eureka and exchange it for a new one. I hope the kids bring me something Chocolate to eat, like chocolate cheese cake, combining my two most favorite deserts.

C y-all later.

HAPPY Anniversary, Judy and Bonesey!

I am having a wonderful time in my painting class this week!  Today I painted from 8:15 until 6:15, with about a 15 minute for lunch break.  FUN, fun, fun!!  And I'm really happy with how the first portrait is coming along, should have it finished by noon tomorrow.

Ruth Ann I am so glad your doctor is on the "approved" list for your insurance company.  And I pray you get the very best results from your carpal tunnel surgery, and that it can be done soon.   <3

I'm really tired, and haven't eaten yet, so I'd better go find something.  My sweetheart is feeling really bad today.  He can barely breathe or swallow.  He went to the doctor, who thought he had strep throat, but the culture said no, also no urinary tract infection, so we don't know what bug is biting him.  Sure hope he is better by morning.

See you another day.

 <3  Good evening to all.

Shutterbug.  It is fun to have a teenage daughter but the good thing is that she has a good relationship with her farther, but of course with her mum to.  On the radio station that we get which is a Christian one  on one of the programs which we here it is so hard to thimk how terrible thet some of the children are treated.  Pray for your kids all the time.

Colin. I do agree that Manchester United is the greatest British team. And of course the GERS. are the best in Scotland.

Judy B, and Bonesy.   Happy 36th.   Anniversary   Wher are you guys have not seen you posting latley.

Marilyn.  Happy  Birthday

Etta Sue.  It was so fantastic to here the witness that the coach gave and how he gave all the Glory to the Lord.

Happy  Birthday Marilyn!!!  You are 7 yrs. younger than me....now doesn't that make things better?  ;)

Amanda has a very severe sprained foot and must not walk on it for a week.  They sent her home with crutches.  Was due to visit an art gallery in Vancouver on Thursday for a course project...don't know what is going to happen now...

I had a very strange day.  Went to Victoria on the bus to have my glasses adjusted at Iris and they broke the wing.  No apology...had to force them to glue it together...not going to have a new wing at $75.00 plus tax.  My eye dr. gave me a new presc. in July but said it probably wouldn't help....decided to get new lenses and frame...but not at Iris.  I have dealt with them for yrs. and the past few times they have gotten worse and worse...not to mention more and more expensive...$500.00 plus for only the lenses two yrs. ago and had to have them redone twice because they measured wrong!  What ever has happened to customer service and common courtesy.  I don't get angry...but quietly blowing a gasket inside.  Boy, are they lucky that I am a Christian and so on..... :ticked:

One nice thing did happen tho', I have had my eye on a nice classic navy parka and patiently hoping that the one (of two in store) my petite size 10, might go for something much less than the $429.00 they started with.  Got it for $125.00  with tax....big clearout of winter things and I was there at the right time!

So that was how my day went.  Seems like the Devil tries to annoy and God shuts him down....Even got to help the bus driver.  Seems someone phoned for him to make a stop at the Mall, he slowed to a stop, no one waved or moved.  So of course the Coach Line can't stay around and wait.  They phoned and said he didn't do this...seems there is a scam and it is possible to get a free ticket if the driver does something wrong.  I wrote a little note in his book and he called the office again....Hah! :clobber:

Pleasant Evening/Day and God Bless.

Liz

Good thing you knew what really happened with the bus driver Liz. a also got a good deal on the parka.

I am waiting on the kids to come, the should be here soon.

Last week I backed into a van at the senior center, yesterday I found out that the damage was $1600. to her van, not bad. My insurance will pay for it and it was my fault, I didn't see her when she pulled in behind me.

Hello Everyone...

Happy Anniversary, Judy and John!

I'm so happy that you managed to get the photos back, Kathleen!  What a horrible loss if you hadn't.  I did that once when I first got my first digital cameral  And lots of photos I took of Jack were lost before I knew I had lost them.

Marilyn, sorry about your accident.  Tough to have to pay that.

Hi Larry, Etta Sue, Janet, and everyone.

It's late and I can't remember who all has posted since I was last here.

Oh, my Gordie, Gordie Brun!

And Colin, isn't Manchester United a transport company with big orange trucks?

I know that Larry goes out for morning coffee or breakfast on occasion with Pat and/or the rest of the seniors so I thought that this would be good for him:

The Senior's Breakfast Special

We went to breakfast at a restaurant where the "seniors' special" was two eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast for $1.99.

"Sounds good," my wife said. "But I don't want the eggs."

Then I'll have to charge you two dollars and forty-nine cents because you're ordering a la carte," the waitress warned her.

You mean I'd have to pay for not taking the eggs?"  my wife asked incredulously.

YES!!" stated the waitress.

I'll take the special."

How do you want your eggs?"

Raw and in the shell," my wife replied.

She took the two eggs home.

Hi everyone.  I didn't have time yesterday to even visit CP much less post.  Therefore. want to post early today as I have another busy day and may not have time later.

A belated Happy Birthday, Marilyn.  Yesterday was also my sister's birthday and she was 63.  She is still working full-time although her husband has been retired for several years.  Sorry to read of your car accident but these things can happy.  I am always very concerned about backing out of parking slots.

Happy Anniversary to JudyB and Bonsey.  Hope you have a great day today.

LIz, sorry to hear of the sprained ankle.  They often say that a bad sprain in worse than a break.  Perhaps Amanda could use a wheelchair while at the museum and not miss the trip.

Ruth Ann, glad your medical situation is working out.

Gord, hope you will be able to avoid surgery and that your treatments are giving you some relief.

Janet, does your back bother you when you paint for such long periods?  Sure sorry to hear that Darrel isn't feeling well.

Colin, I really have never understood your football.  I did have the opportunity to attend the women's final game in the Atlanta Olympics and enjoyed the game.

Kathleen, glad you were able to recover the majority of your photos.  You did the right thing to find the recovery software but just hope you have no need to use it again.  Sure that wouldn't make you upset.

Etta Sue, glad you are able to stay in where it is warm.  I think our little cold spell is over for a couple of days as we are to get into the high 50s today.

Jeannine, that is certainly too cold for me.  Hope it warms up out your way soon.  This has been some cold spell.

Nick, are you a collector of things like football cards?

Sue, hope you will enjoy your new vehicle.  It should be a bit different than your Town Car.

This morning is Bible study at the church and later this afternoon I am going over to help the Treasurer of our computer learning center in using the QuickBooks software.  Then this evening we have choir practice.

 <3  Good morning to all.

I have just come back into the warm house as I have been out at the seminar that I go to every Wednesday it is called  Quest For  Authentic Manhood and it is very interesting but it so hard to get up so early.
The teachers name is  Robert Lewis and the websitewww.mensfraternity.com orwww,lifeway.com/mensfraternity
So it is a very exciting journey each week and then you have a dicussion time with your group that you are sitting with. They are mostly men from your own church group and one of the pastors.

Pat  Did not know that you new the old french for my name your not just a pretty face.

It is still very cold up in Canada and  our power went of the other night so we were so thankful it was a short time.  If anyone of you have a gas fireplace and the power goes off the firplace will still come on but the fan will not so make sure that if this happens that if your firplace is controlled by a thermostat make sure you turn it way down as it will get to hot and can cause a fire  if yyour mantle is made of wood.

Hope that you all have a great day God Bless Gord.

Marilyn

Good Morning I have just had a nice hot  :coffee: of Chai Tea, done my Bible reading and spend time with the Lord, now I must get ready to go to Curves for my workout.

My, my Larry and Gord you have been up early this morning, I don't usually see you here so early.

We have started a new thing at my church. Once a month we are going to add and extra 1½ hrs. to our prayer meeting to pray for the local business, We are going to invite them to come and join us, so that we can pray for them. Last Sunday night the pastor handed out little flyer's  and divided us into groups of 5 or 6 with a list of things to pray about for the businesses.

A couple of months ago he asked those of us with a business to lay our cards on the altar and around the church; everyone went from card to card praying for that person's business. My income has doubled since then, but not because of my business but because I am working only for Ruth now and making more with one patient than I was with two. Although my business is doing more also.

Well, here we are on Wednesday morning.  How did it get that far so fast?  I have to go without breakfast until after I go to the lab for a blood draw this morning.  Fasting is not my favorite thing.  But they want to see what my cholesterol looks like, so there's no other way.  Then, in a week or two, they want me to have a stress test.  It's all a followup to my minor heart attack six years ago.  They're just keeping tabs on things for me, so I guess it's a good thing.  But I'm hungry!

karmat

Howdy ya'll!

Marilyn, sorry I didn't get in here to wish you a happy birthday, so here is a wish a day or two late!

Happy anniversary Judy!

We went shopping.  My goal was to get Kristi a comforter set (bedspread, sheets, etc.) for her room.  We looked and looked and couldn't find anything I liked (it all looked so grown up), BUT I did find me one.  I got the "bed in a bag" set with two valences for around $90.  Actual retail for just the valences would have been $80.  I like shopping like that.  Then, Sears was having a good sale as well.  I was able to get Kristi a lot of new clothes (liek $300 worth) for just over $40.  yea.

Bernard and I went back out and got Kristi's bed stuff.  It wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it looks like a little girl, so it will work, I think.  Friday, I'm having two of the little girls from church up to the house for lunch and a Princess dress up birthday party.  :)  I can't believe it has been two years since she was born.  It seems like just yesterday.  Wow.  Where does the time go?????

I hope all of you have a wonderful day, and I may try to check in later.  Take care.

Pat

Hi Everyone from very cold Guelph!

Out on my deck it is minus 15 but it's the windchill that is so very bad.  I drove Kathleen to school this morning and my breath was almost freezing in the air as I walked to the car.

Whew! I am late getting here today.  A lot has been going on here.  I found out last night at 11 o'clock that my niece, Robin, Kaye Don's daughter, was taken to the hospital.  She's only 50.  She passed out in the kitchen and her BP was 80 over 60.  Her son is an EMT and her husband is the Fire Chief of Lapel Fire Department.  So they took her to the hospital.  Last I heard it is NOT her heart but they don't know why she got weak, felt like an earthquake was happening inside of her, then everything went gray and passed out.  She may come back home today after keeping her overnight at the hospital in ICU.

Now for good news.  Tony, my son, didn't go to work today so he called and asked if I was going to be home.  Duh!  I didn't know if I could even get out!  So he came.  He gave me an air compressor a few years back but it isn't working in the garage.  My garage isn't heated and he thinks it is froze up!  After he cleared off my drive way, he came in the house.  I was eating lunch and then I asked him if he would look at my fireplace.  We took it apart...got all the dust out of the fan and all, oiled the fan and IT IS RUNNING QUIET NOW!!!  Hurray!!  I paid him with a hug and kiss on the cheek!!

Now I am a happy camper!

It is still cold...not as cold as Guelph but cold for central Indiana....only 9°F  but some of the snow is melting because of the sun being so bright.  I cleaned off my deck and it wasn't too bad until you came back in and your glasses were steamed up for another 5 minutes!

Got to run......

I'm home again, and had another great day painting.  Thanks for asking, Larry---my back doesn't bother me at all.  I have been blessed all my life with a strong back, I guess, anyway I haven't had back problems.  I'm very thankful for that.  When I paint on very large canvasses, I stand, and when on smaller ones, I sit down.  But I get up pretty often and walk away to see how the painting looks from a little distance.

Today I finished one painting and started another.  I'm thinking I need to get another prepared, because I just might have some time to work on it!  YIPPEE!!  (Can you tell I am doing my favorite thing?)   :)

Darrel is still very sick.  I wish I could do something to make him feel better.  :( :'(

I'm not taking time to address everyone, but it is so nice having Karma back.  And Liz, sorry about Amanda's ankle, hope it heals quickly.

We have had a lot of thawing here this week, so it's really sloppy out, and the ruts in our road are so deep the car drags bottom going through them.  >:(

I hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi, friends,

The Workers Compensation chain of events has started. The insurance company accepted the claim, and I'll be getting papers in the mail to read and sign and send back. Then, they'll assign a nurse contact person and my surgeries will be scheduled.

Marilyn, you did look like you enjoyed being at the Health Fair.

Pat, I tried to figure out that map to identify where I am several months ago, but was unsuccessful. Maybe someone will send me an instant message with step-by-step instructions.  :-\

I've read all the posts and am sitting here thinking about shivering just to show that I love all of y'all who're dealing with super cold temps. Ours is supposed to go down to 19 degrees tonight, which is far too cold for me.

Y'all have a good evening.

Hi everyone.  I have a few minutes before I need to leave for coffee so will go ahead and post for the day.  It was 63 degrees here yesterday and suppose to get to 50 today and the next few days.  I sure don't envy you folks who live to the north and are experiencing all that cold weather.  The other night is was -17 where my sister lives.

Pat left early this morning as has an early doctor's appointment.  Around here the traffic is so bad that if you have to get anywhere during the rush hour you have to allow a lot of extra time.  I offered to driver her there but she declined.  That was nice of her so that I can go to coffee.

Ruth Ann, sure glad things are working smoothly for you with the insurance.

Janet, your speaking of the ruts with the thawing so reminds me of my growing up days when we lived on a farm and only had a dirt road for about a mile to the highway.  I know exactly what you are talking about and there was always a place or to that were mudholes where you could get stuck.  I'll take pavement anyday!  :)  Hope today finds Darrel feeling better.

Marilyn, nice picture of your health fair exhibit.

Gord, I see it is only 13 degrees up your way at the time I am posting.

Etta Sue, sure hope your neice is all right and that they find the cause of her fainting.  Glad you got your fireplace fixed and having your son help you was extra special.

Pat, I hope you have a garage for your car.  I seem to remember a picture you once posted that showed your garage.  They really make a difference.

Karmat, it sounds like your little girl is now well clothed and must have a nice looking room.

Al, know what you mean by the fasting.  It seems these cholesterol tests come around very fast.

A special greeting to all who visit with us today.

By the way, Etta Sue, I forgot to tell you I have read your devotional three times thus far. Good stuff.

Just a cheery good morning on my way to work. Y'all have a good day.

Good morning everyone.  Today, my little girl is two.  Wow.  time sure flies.  Her grandparents got her a little Dora the Explorer table (just her size) adn she has been sitting at it "reading" all morning.  :)

Tomorrow night is the graduation for the program I teach in at the Community College (GED and Adult High School).  Normally, I don't have any of "my" students graduating, or a very small number as I do a lab and not a "real" class like some of the instructors.  However, tomorrow night, I've got 6 or 8 of "mine" going across the stage.  Bernard is supposed to play the prelude, processional, and recessional, but he hasn't been feeling well.  Please, pray for him.

Okay, time to hit the grindstone.  Take care and stay warm all you "up north"

Etta Sue

0°F when I got up.  No thawing here.  Bright sunshine though and still the ground is covered with white stuff.  These cold days and what Larry said the temperature was in Georgia, I am looking forward to going to Florida Feb 21!

I got a surprise email this morning.  Remember Jerry?  His son, Jerry, sent me an email with pictures of his wife, Nerman, and son, Daniel.  Jerry is still in the Army and the family transferred back to Italy...Naples this time...around Christmas.  Daniel is 3½...a little man.  I am thinking that Jerry has 4 more years to retire from the Army!  They love Italy!

Ivalou and I are getting stir crazy so we are going to Pendleton for a Chinese lunch!

Good Morning I am all ready for work with some time to  sit and write a post. I have already been here to read.

Karma I am praying for Bernard. I know you are so proud of your students.

It sure poured rain yesterday here. At the time Ruth and I were leaving the Senior Center it was really coming down and we got soaked even with me  carrying the brollie over both of us. even my pants were soaked. I had to come home and dry out my clothes. Needless to say the dogs did not get a walk yesterday. More rain due today and it is colder today than yesterday.

Good morning!  :coffee:

I hope everyone is doing well! :)

From Mark 5

Jesus' First Missionary?

They arrived on the other side of the sea in the country of the Gerasenes.  As Jesus got out of the boat, a madman from the cemetery came up to him.  He lived there among the tombs and graves. No one could restrain him—he couldn't be chained, couldn't be tied down.  He had been tied up many times with chains and ropes, but he broke the chains, snapped the ropes. No one was strong enough to tame him.  Night and day he roamed through the graves and the hills, screaming out and slashing himself with sharp stones.

When he saw Jesus a long way off, he ran and bowed in worship before him—  then bellowed in protest, "What business do you have, Jesus, Son of the High God, messing with me? I swear to God, don't give me a hard time!"  (Jesus had just commanded the tormenting evil spirit, "Out! Get out of the man!")

Jesus asked him, "Tell me your name."  He replied, "My name is Mob. I'm a rioting mob."  Then he desperately begged Jesus not to banish them from the country.

A large herd of pigs was browsing and rooting on a nearby hill.   The demons begged him, "Send us to the pigs so we can live in them."   Jesus gave the order. But it was even worse for the pigs than for the man. Crazed, they stampeded over a cliff into the sea and drowned.

Those tending the pigs, scared to death, bolted and told their story in town and country. Everyone wanted to see what had happened.  They came up to Jesus and saw the madman sitting there wearing decent clothes and making sense, no longer a walking madhouse of a man.

Those who had seen it told the others what had happened to the demon-possessed man and the pigs.  At first they were in awe—and then they were upset, upset over the drowned pigs. They demanded that Jesus leave and not come back.

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the demon-delivered man begged to go along,  but he wouldn't let him. Jesus said, "Go home to your own people. Tell them your story—what the Master did, how he had mercy on you."  The man went back and began to preach in the Ten Towns area about what Jesus had done for him. He was the talk of the town.

Marilyn, I thought yours had a 3x zoom. I did a search, and that's what it says.

Yes, if his says 10x zoom, that is the optical zoom probably.

Do a test and see if his zooms in better than yours. :)

Mine is only 3x, and I would love to have a 10x zoom.  17x would be even better. lol

Marilyn,

I guess it depends on how the company is advertising the camera.  It couid be that it only optically zooms to say, 3X, and then the digital process takes over from there, totalling 10X.

The difference is that the optical zoom is accomplished with the lens, while digital zooming happens well, digitally.  The image that the sensor is receiving is made to look zoomed by a digital "stretching" process in the camera's chip.  The quality of the optical zoom is almost always better than the digital zoom.
