JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Jesus on Family Matters
Mark 10:13-16  NLT

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him.

When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, "Let the children come to me. Don't stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.  I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."  Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.

How far will you go to keep your word?

Adults are not as trusting as little children.  To feel secure, all children need is a loving look and gentle touch from someone who cares.  Complete intellectual understanding is not one of the requirement.  They believe us if they trust us.

Jesus said that people should believe in him with this kind of childlike faith.  We should not have to understand all the mysteries of the universe; it should be enough to know that God loves us and provides forgiveness for our sin.

This doesn't mean that we should be childish or immature, but we should trust God with a child's simplicity and receptivity.

Again, above is my very, very most favorite animation!  Take time to watch the animation, please!

Karma, Karma, Karma....I so wish I could wrap my arms around each one of you.  Since I can't in person, here is a cyberhug from me. {{{Shuford family}}}  I feel Nards will do just fine.  He has a lot of people praying for him.  We all must 'keep on knocking' and God will answer our prayers for Nards.  Just think...he will feel so much better after the surgery.  God Bless All Ya'll!!

I did go out with Ivalou and Teresa for lunch.  When I got back home, I put all the pictures I took in Brown County in PSP for cleaning and polishing!  Some keepers...some not so hot!

Time for bed now!  ZZZZZzzzzz

Hey there, all y'all ... I have been around (and sometimes a square) and observing all y'all have to say/share.

Karma~I am so in awe of your family's strong faith and belief that God is good -- all the time!  I believe that, too.  I honor you for your trust in Him and I am, most certainly, praying for you, Nards, the kids, and all concerned...God WILL get all the glory.  Praise Him!

I (think I) have found a neat church fellowship to join with in worship.  Today we had a potluck (They call it Pot Blessing) and the food was amazing!!!  I made a new recipe for Chicken Alfredo and people seemed to love it.  I cooked brown rice with chicken stock and put the chicken and alfredo sauce over that before baking.  Maybe I'll do this one again sometime ... it really wasn't all that difficult.

I will be back d'rectly ... y'all take care y'hear?   Love y'all ...........

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jeannine

Hi all,

Karma ~ my thought and prayers are with you also. I know what it is like.

Jane ~ so glad you found a fellowship to go to!

Hubby is not improving as he would hope. He should be starting radiation in a couple weeks. Today is to check his health and strength for it. It will be 5x a week for 7 wks.

Still Trusting,
<><Jeannine

Good morning all.  Today I've got to go to the bank (I was recently roped into asked to be the church treasurer, and I like to get that money deposited ASAP after Sunday. :/

Bernard goes for his MRI today, then we meet with the surgeon on Thursday.  We are truly blessed to have the cardiologists and heart surgeons in our area that we do.  The Memorial Mission/St. Joseph Hospital system in Asheville (NC) has the "Owen Heart Center" an entire "mini-hospital" just for cardiology.  They are the only hospital in North or South Carolina to receive a designation of "Top 100 cardiology hospitals in the country" and they are only like 5 minutes from my in-laws house, so that is nice.

Looks like it is going to be a nice day.  I hope Spring is here to stay.

Hope everyone has a good day.  I'm praying for ya'll as well.  Take care.

Pat

Good Morning Everyone!

Karma, had a time of prayer for y'all this morning.  So sorry to see you going through this.  Bernard is so young.  But what a Great Physician we have!

Hi Jeannine...  Sorry that your hubby isn't progressing as quickly as you wished.  Sad.

Hi Judy and Etta Sue!

Jane, so happy you found a place to worship that you are happy with.

Bernard/Karmat - We'll be praying also.  God is not moved because of MANY prayers, but He moves many to prayer.  He wills to use our prayers to accomplish His works!  That's wonderful!  We pray for His wonderful guidance of the doctors, etc. for Bernard's surgery.  He does all things well.

Pat

Amen, Al!

You always put it so well.  Thanks!  Helped me too!

Hi everyone.  We had a little bit of rain yesterday but not expecting anymore before Wednesday.

Karmat, I have had my chest opened for bypass surgery twice and a word of assurance to Nards that the pain from the surgery really was very slight.  There are no nerves in the heart.  I have had other operations that were minor but more painful.  I am thankful that they have found the problem as it is surely correctable and as the doctor said he will likely feel better immediately.  He will just have to limit what he does until the bones begin to knit together although I suppose they still use the wires to wire the sternum together although mine were done 20 years ago.

Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional for this week.

I have been busy this morning setting up some appointments with doctors and for routine car maintenance.  I have nothing on the schedule for today except to watch the finals of the men's basketball season tonight around 9 pm.

Jeannine, so sorry to hear that your hubby isn't progressing as he would like and then having to face the radiation soon.  I am sure it is a challenge for you both.

Jane, glad you have found a fellowship that you feel is right for you.

Carol, that meal you have or had prepared sounds very good.  Glad you are able to visit with these folks.

Liz, thanks for the suggested maintenance procedure.  Have never run that but think I will run it while I rest this afternoon.

Ruth Ann, glad your wrist is feeling better and you were able to drive.

Janet, if you have the disks for the Word program and you can't fix the problems anyother way you might want to uninstall Word and then reinstall it.  However, it is hard to imagine what could have corrupted it that would necessitate reloading the program.

Marilyn, hope you are able to walk your dogs today.  I am sure they missed it.

Janet

Well, I ran the check Liz suggested, and it probably fixed a lot of things, but not the problem in Word.  I finally just opened a new document and finished that way, but I can't make any additions or corrections, as everything appears in caps, red and underlined.  And now my printer is going crazy.  Ahhh, the joys of computers.  :'(

I agree with the others concerning Jeannine's husband, and the Shufords.  Glad the needed help is available close by, that takes a lot of the stress and expense out of the situation.  Prayers continue.

Jane, glad you have found "your" church.  That food sounds good!

Darrel came in from therapy with the news he is to be in Garden City in the morning for an MRI of his shoulder.  Sounds as if he may have to have that surgery, which we do not want, but it would be better than continued pain and disability.  :-\

Looking at those young faces of the British Navy hostages in Iran makes my heart ache.  So much evil in the world today............  I well remember when Iran took our people hostage, too.  We cannot give in, knuckle under nor negotiate with those terrorists!!  Please, God, protect those young men and woman.

Hello friends!

With being sick so long I see I'm way behind on what's going on with you all.  I also see there are newbies that I haven't met.  It's been all I can do to keep up with homeschooling, and the part-time photography work and catch up on housework.  I wish I could be here more often.  I will try to keep up on prayer requests, at least and chat when I can, but I find it takes precious time away from my family and I am limited on the time I can physically sit at the computer, too.  The next part of my post will explain why.

I would like to ask you all to lift me up in prayer if you would.  I've been hesitant to bring this up, but I need all the prayer I can get.  (maybe I should put this in the prayer request section?) Please pray for healing for me for my eyes.  I found out that I have a degenerative corneal disease that will most likely claim my sight, unless God chooses to heal me.  As a wife, mother/teacher, photographer, this is quite upsetting to me.  As fellow photographers, you can probably imagine my impulse is to take and process as many photos as I can before I go blind.  Not much call for blind photographers, I don't suppose.  At the same time, my family and church comes first.  I do get eye strain easily from the glare on the computer screen and can't stare at it for very long.  It's hard for me to read on the computer, which is why it'll be hard for me to read and catch up on the posts I missed while I was sick.  So, if I don't seem to know what's going on or that I don't care, that's not the case.  I do keep you all in my prayers, even if I'm not up on the specifics of each need.  God knows your needs.

Trusting in God's plan, as much as I possibly can,

Hi, friends,

I'm back from the gastro doctor. Well, it seems that my blood count indicates that somewhere or other I've lost about 2 units of blood.

So, next comes the colonoscopy. More later.

I'm praising the Lord today that my hand and fingers are ever so much better.

Thank You, Father, for Your gracious healing of Ruth Ann's hand/wrist.  I also pray You'll give the doctors true insight and wisdom regarding the blood loss.  And I pray You'll also give them the solution.

Ruth Ann, I am praying that the doctors find the reason for your loss of blood.  And I'm so glad your hand is better.  ((((hugs))))

Shutterbugmom, so sorry to hear of your vision problems.  Is it macular degeneration?  If so, there are shots now that they put directly into the eye.  But maybe yours is a different condition.  Whatever it is, God knows all about it, and He is still in the miracle business.  We will uphold you in prayer.  Nobody wants to lose their eyesight!  Scary.

Kevin, beautiful tulip!

Sarah, what was your friend's name?  I'm wondering if I know her family.  Don't burn yourself out at such a young age.  Good to have you checking in.

Our piano lessons today were fun.  I want to progress much faster, but she says I am doing great, so will keep plugging away.  Darrel sounds really good!  (His music, I mean.  ;))

Hi, all.

I know someone who is having a birthday tomorrow.  Her initials are JW. :)

Happy Birthday tomorrow. JW.  Just in case I don't get in here in the morning, I wanted to say it tonight.

I'm also glad you found a fellowship that you might be attending.

I'm cooking dinner, so better check on the sauce.   Nita

Carol

Shutterbug Mom:  Sending my morning prayer for you.  I can't imagine your shock.

Karma/Bernard:  Also thinking of you two and sending another prayer today.

Larry:  We had a nice drive to Estes Park with cousin and were so blessed to see hundreds of elk in the Rocky Mountain Park.  There have been times when only a chipmunk has been seen so we were fortunate.  This cousin leaves today.

Time for coffee:   :coffee:  April will fly for us as we have at the least three more couples coming for visits and Easter day the family will be here plus I want to have another new young couple over for dinner.  Sure is difficult to stay on diet when company is coming though - and the exercise goes kaput.

I forgot who found the "new" church group but it is so exciting, isn't it?  We are really happy with the group at our church that works on good projects in the community & other places.  It just seems like the perfect place for us to help.

Carol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE!!!

And many more!  We are off to Garden for Darrel's MRI, hope to be back on later.

Thanks, Sarah, for the information.  I do not know that family, but sounds as if they can all use our prayers!

JANE!!

So many health concerns to pray about.  Just know that I am praying for God's will.  He made each and everyone of us and He can make them right.

I was tired when I went to bed last night.  I mowed my yard...yes, the season has started!  I had to go buy some gas for the mower and then pick up limbs all over the yard...God's pruning.  After I mowed, I took the limbs back to the woods and put them on the limb pile.  Then I was done.  Good day!

I think I am going to Lowe's and purchase me an umbrella for my bistro table.  I keep buying cheap ones and they don't even last a season.  So going to go bigger this time.  And then this evening is 'Guys and Dolls' at Beef 'n' Boards.  It's always fun there.

April is crazy weather for Indiana.  Today's high is to get to 78°F.  Tomorrow the high is to be 42°F.   :idiot:

Happy Birthday Jane!!!!  May God bless you greatly today and throughout the coming year.  I have an April birthday, too!

I will be spending my birthday in northern San Diego county, where I grew up.  We have lots of family there.  I'm looking forward to the drive and taking spring pictures of the Sierra Nevadas along the way.  My hubby is letting us take extra time to drive to and from CA just for me.  What a hon!  We will spend three weeks away all together.  We need this time away!

Janet-No, it's not the macular thing.  Unfortunately, it's Fuch's Dystophy.  Supposedly hereditary, but we knoe of no one who's ever had it in my family.  And, incureable and they don't know what causes it.  It can happen quickly, or it can take years to lose your sight altogether.  It is accompanied by pain though, they do know that.  There's very little they can do for it.  A corneal transplant is a possibility, although at this time, they don't have a really great record of being a lasting fix.  I'm praying for R&D in the meantime and maybe by the time I would need one...

I am truly thankful and humbled by all of your prayers!  It means a lot that you would take time out of your day to lift me up to our Father.  Thank you so much.  I'm thankful for the family of God and you, my brothers and sisters.  I know that God's plan is perfect and He will help me through this.  Others have it so much worse, but blindness has always been one of my biggest fears.  There are times though, when I grieve for what I have not lost, and just the thought not seeing my grandkids or a sunset is enough to set me off.  So, I will trust in the Lord, for that is all I can do, and go about His work in the meantime.  God is good!

Kevin-Love your Passover greeting!  Great color and composition.  I've started adding scripture to some of my photos and started an Inspirational album.  I want to do more with photography and glorify God with my camera and photos of His artwork, as long as I possibly can.

Ruth Ann-I'm praying for you.  Sarah-You, too!   :aaah:

Well, time for school!  Actually, I'm late!  You all have a great day and God bless each of you today!

Happy Birthday Jane.
Happy Future April Birthday Kathleen.

Larry Hanna

Hi all.

We had a brief thunderstorm here with very little rain but now it is overcast.  It was 81 degrees while ago but expect it is cooled by now.  Had a busy day getting the oil changed in one of our cars and then attending a meeting and finally going to lunch with a group.  I came home and took a nap and the next thing I know it is 4 pm.

Happy Birthday Jane.  Hope you have had a special day.

Shutterbug Mom, so sorry to read of your sight problems and the dismal prospects.  Of all the senses to lose the ability to see would be the most difficult for me.  Fortunately in this day and age there are some great tools for the visually impaired from magnification to programs where the computer reads for you.  There is a built in program in Windows XP for that purpose plus other software programs.  I have a cousin who recently has basically lost her sight and I sent her information on the programs that are administered by the States to provide books and other materials on tape as a free service.  I know you are not at that point yet but perhaps something you will want to investigate should they ever be needed.

Janet, have you checked the settings in Word to see if the defaults may have been set for the red color, underlining, etc?  Hope you and Darrel had a good trip to Garden City for the MRI.

Carol, we saw a few elk when we drove into Estes Park a couple of years ago.  We went up to the summit but had to come down ASAP as my heart didn't like that altitude.

I am not going to address everyone this evening but have noted your concerns and enjoyed your comments, except those with the bad news but know that is a part of the life experience for all of us.

Ruth Ann Bice

Jane, no gifts from me this year, but a special hug for your birthday. Hope it's been really special.  :)

I had two nice experiences at Sam's today - I needed to buy cat food, and realized I couldn't lift it. About that time, a young mother happened by, smiled and asked if she could help. And, then, strange as it seems, Sam's didn't have any spare employees to help me get the cat food into my truck. Another very nice man helped me in that case. Thee are times that it's nice to be able to find great little moments for gratitude.

Shutterbugmom, There is a wonderful eye specialist here in Nashville who specializes in difficult cases. His name is Ming Wang. Here is his website. You may wish to contact them:  http://www.wangvisioninstitute.com/index.html

He recently restored sight to a teen from one of the East Europen nations, and the citizens of Nashville have just brought a little girl who has gone blind from India for treatment.

Y'all have a good day.

Happy Birthdya Jane!!!!!!!

Not alot going on in WNC today.  The kids are playing with their grandparents right now, and I'm trying to "encourage" Bernard to work on our taxes (hey, we still have our Christmas tree up, the fact that we haven't done our taxes yet shouldn't be a huge surprise) without being "naggy," but naggy is my next step. :)
