Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hello Jeannine:  Our resident poetress!  Lovely poem.

Colin:  I did bookmark your  other site as well.  How do you find the time?

Janet:  It is the saddest thing that so many things are lost in assistance homes.  My mother's wedding ring and her nice robe, then tee shirts that she had bought in Arizona.  Why do people think that they deserve your things.  Shame on them.  Oh, nice to read that Mark was able to eat pizza.

Larry:  I have been noticing that many of your days begin with coffee with the guys.  Good for you!

The noisy Starling family just left us a few days ago and it was quiet as usual around here.  Now, the neighbors on one side are getting carpet - pounding noise & our windows are open for fresh air.  Next will be a roofing on the other side of our house - that neighbor.  It takes a lot of effort to keep a house going and we are so fortunate to live where people do care and all of us can get this work done.

Praying for Beruit.

Carol

Etta Sue

First of all, I want to thank all of you for your prayers.  I certainly felt them.  Now I will tell you about the surgery.

I was to be there by 10am and surgery was to be 11am.  They didn't come get me until 11:30am.  Surgery was only about 15 minutes.  But they tell me, I didn't want to wake up.  I didn't get back to my room until 3pm.  They say my blood pressure rose so they gave me medication to get it down...then it went too low...so they gave me medication to raise it.  When I got back to the room, the oxygen level in my blood was too low so I was put on oxygen.  My BP was low and finally it went back up to a desirable level.  When I first went in at 10, my BP was 108 over 66.  That's might low numbers but then I don't know that much about the numbers.  We didn't leave the surgery center until 6:55pm!!!  I was still groggy!  My temp when I went in was low...95°.  Last night it was okay.  Ivalou went home.  We decided if I needed her, I could call and when she saw my name on the Caller ID, she would come over.  I was up and down all night...bathroom, coughing, spitting...a full blown cold again!!  Inky wouldn't leave me alone...she must have known I wasn't feeling good.  Ivalou came over this morning before I got up.  My temp was 100.5°.  At noon it was back to normal.  Now about every muscle in my body is sore.  I had that two times before from the anesthetic.  Whatever they gave me yesterday, I sure don't want that stuff again!!  My throat is still sore but I am much better now than I was a few hours ago.

Now I feel a nap coming on.

Jane Walker

What an ordeal, Etta Sue!  Yesterday was really a tough one for you but I am glad you had Ivalou with you and that she is nearby to come running when you need her.

Now, you have only to GET BETTER FAST and no talking.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet

Carol, that's so true!  Mom's things disappear, too, even things like face creams, and both hers and Beth's family reunion tee shirts!  And Beth's tee shirts that she and John got alike.  Now, why would anyone else want your shirts with your name on them?  Beats me, but it is so frustrating..........grrrr.

Etta Sue, glad your really tough day is in the past now, and pray each day will find you getting better and better.  Tell Ivalou for us that we are so glad she is there for you.  (And you for her.)  Hugs.

This will probably be my last post until next week.  We are leaving in the morning for our family reunion up near Emporia, Kansas.  I have to go get Abby tonight, and in the morning pick up Beth.  It will be really hard to take care of Beth, but I have three nieces who work in care situations who have promised to help.

Gotta go, Darrel is waiting.  We want to see Mark again before leaving.

I'm just popping in to see how Etta Sue is doing.  I see she is home and so sorry about the cold, Etta Sue.   Hurry and get well.

Mark was burned?!!  Bless his heart.  I'm so glad it wasn't worse, Janet.  It's a good sign that he can eat a whole pizza. :)

Janet

We are back home, and I wanted to tell you all that Mark is doing well.  He said the only real pain now is where they harvested the skin for the grafts.  I told him he looks like he just came home from Iraq--and it makes my heart ache for the families of all those who have been injured there.  Sometimes I think we don't give enough thought to the life-changing injuries they suffer in their jobs of protecting us.  Anyway, now we can go to reunion and not be worrying about Mark the whole time; he is going to be just fine.  Thanks for your prayers.

Abby is out in the van, hooking up Beth's new DVD player so they can watch movies on the road.  It will give them something to do on the way and make the time pass faster.

Abby's town got flooded today!  Over two inches of rain in less than a half hour, and the streets looked like rivers!

See you all when we return.

Hello all
I am here... i had meetings today in liberal so i didn't have to work... i went through the flooding rains of hugoton (at hugoton.. and it is VERY flooded) dad said that the storm i drove through produced a tornado between Hugoton and Moscow.... so thankfully we were not injured in it... i had 2 other coworkers with me... it has been a long day and even though it is just 2100 i'm going to bed i be very tired have a good week ya'll
>>>> sorry to hear about mark hope all is going well with that! where is he at???

karmat

Hello all!

Janet, glad to hear Mark is feeling better.  I've heard burns can be some of the most painful injuries, but it sounds like he is trooping right along.  I agree with your sentiments about our soldiers.  I test homeschoolers, and one of them I am testing in July has had his father in Iraq for the past year.  I told the mother I wasn't charging them for the test, as a thank you, but she still wants to pay.  Hope you have a safe trip.

Etta, glad to hear you are recovering okay.  Sorry about the cold.  that has got to be annoying.  Hope tomorrow has you feeling lots and lots better.

Bernard said to tell ya'll "HI"  He's feeling a lot better and is putting in almost full days at work right now.

Have a good 'un.

Well, it's late and work stress continues - I worked 11 hours today, but, PRAISE GOD, He answered a prayer that cleared up my confusion as to how to meet the next Monday data analysis deadline that had me stumped.

I'm so VERY thankful that sometimes, just in the nick of time, He answers a desperate plea for help and leads the way to a resolution of the problem at hand.

Etta Sue, Karma and Janet, I'm so thankful to hear that things are better. Have been, and will continue to be praying for the requests made known here.

Thanks for the poem, Jeannine. Still praying about your hubby's condition.

Y'all have a good evening.

Nice reading the poems of Colin and Jeannine.  I paid a visit to the sites and will go back and spend more time as much to enjoy.  Have missed your jokes, Colin and hope you post lots in the future.

This has been a lovely day without rain.  Sort of an unusual day with strange things happening...

Wendy was outside in the front garden and called me to come....down the block two cats were in a fight.  Seems Billy was getting whipped by a large black cat.  Misty never goes out of the yard but was heading down the street as fast as her plump little body would go...off to rescue Billy ( the cat would always comes to visit and play with her).  She never gets into fights, but was determined to keep him safe!  This from a cat who is afraid of her own shadow.  I grabbed her, Wendy managed to get down the street to stop the fight, but Billy did end up with a sore leg and was badly scared.  One day when Wendy was weeding the front yard, a large dog came along and tho' friendly, could have knocked her over, due to her being disabled.  Misty was there, chased the dog down the street to his own yard, then came back and stood guard.  Sometimes think that animals are more caring than humans.... When it comes to those she loves, that cat is fearless!

Think my guardian angels were working overtime today.  Misty could have been killed by a vehicle that came down the street and I got her in time.  She is not traffic wise.  Then I went to the store, came home, looked down and saw that my gold chain was dangling from my shirt.  It is lovely, but also held a lovely gold cross that my son gave me years ago.  Last present ever received.  I have worn it every day for years.  Could have lost the chain, thought the cross was lost, then discovered it had lodged in my bra.  What are the chances of that...?  Two blessings in one day.  :)

It is late and this old lady is tired, so will simply say that I pray for everyone and am glad that Etta Sue is home and okay.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Still hurting.  Slept in Mom's lift chair to help me get up.  Inky slept on my lap.  Still coughing, spitting.  No fever.  Ivalou is bringing lunch to me today.  Just want this hurting to be over!!  Every muscle hurts when I move.  Fine if I don't move.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Hi everyone.  We are just back from the dentist.  We were able to get all of our cleaning and fillings done this morning.  I was in the dentist chair for about 2 hours, about 90 minutes of that time with the dentist.  I hate to think what the bill will be but at least we didn't have to have crowns this time.  I had a huge filling in an upper front tooth, where a filling had come out and the dentist found a lot more decay.

We may once again have some rain later today.  We had just a very brief shower yesterday afternoon, not enough to measure.

Etta Sue, hope you feel a lot better shortly.

Janet, certainly good news about your grandson.  Enjoy your family reunion.

I feel a nap coming on as it is almost 2 pm so will be brief for today.

THE RACE ROAD

Like many flakes of drifting snow
Petals bedeck your banks with frothy white
Sycamore and Ash stand proud in each hedge row
Leafy canopy letting in the dappled light

You are the place of far gone childhood
Passing by the home where I abode
Memories flicker of bad and good
When you cross my mind my quiet Race road

I often walked your length and climbed your trees
Sleighed down you in the deep piled snow
Knew your hardness as I grazed my knees
When I tripped from running and down I'd go

Your are the place I know so well
Your twisting turns and every bend
Oh what of life I could tell
When as a child on you time I did spend

By meadow vale green you did pass
As a crying boy prayed on his knees
And I sat alone in flower strewn grass
Shadowed by your lofty trees

The rippling stream knew my tears
From beneath your surface it flowed along
And the Saviour came to take my fears
To right my life from what was wrong

Oh winding road that's called the Race
You have a beginning and an end
Like the road that by God's grace
I must travel where it may wend

Quiet Race road I think of you
To me your are a special place
And when God calls me home beyond the blue
Life's road will be ended and I will have finished the race

I have some pics posted of the Race Road...dont know how to get them on here! Take care everyone.

Lovely Colin.  I really like that so much!

Keep them coming my friend.

THE FATHER'S LOVE

The Father's love for us so deep
Sent His Son to die, our souls to keep
His blood shed on Calvary
Is there for us, to be set free

Set free from the bondage of sin
The things that leave us empty within
To turn from sin, hear His call
To repent and accept, give Him your all

For the blood He shed so freely
Will cleanse our souls completely
What once was stained darkest hue
Will be made white, clean and new

Blessed Saviour, by Your love and mercy
You have set my soul free
From the chains sin laid on me
I give you my heart completely

Now I know the Father's love
And a home for me awaits above
What joy my soul shall feel
When before His throne I kneel

But for now I will humbly bend my knee
And give thanks and praise to thee
For my heart knows praise, and the joy You bring
And I will forever praise my King

Jeannine Faith

Lovely, Jeannine.  I think I'll print that and put it inside my Bible.

Hi everyone.

I awoke around 5 am this morning to the noise of the rain coming down fairly hard and it continued until just a few minutes ago.  It sure was a good way to wake up for the day as we need the rain so badly.

One of my coffee drinking buddies is a big gardener.  He sells produce from his garden at his home.  This year in one of his three gardens he is raising watermelons and told me this week that he has over 500 plants and they are doing well.  He also has around 300 or more tomoto plants and they are also doing very well.  Of course, he raises many other items in his garden.  He is over 75 and his knees give him fits but he loves to garden.

Not much new since I last wrote.  Pat, was glad to see that you are getting a weekend away.  I bet I know the reason you are going to see Judy, to visit the little chicks!  :)  Hope you all have a marvelous time and get some rest.

Etta Sue, sure hope your aches are abating now.

Jeannine, so sorry that your husband isn't trying to help himself.  The dehydration is certainly not good for him.  I was glad to see you are healthy and will be getting your shoulder taken care of.

Time to leave for coffee as am picking up my next door neighbor.

karmat

good morning all.  not a lot happening in WNC, just chasing the kids around.  :)

Hope everyone has a good day.

Etta, Hope you are feeling better.

Etta Sue

Yay!!  I am among the living today.  Rough night with coughing, getting up, spitting and all that stuff!  Got up around daylight and went back to bed.  Slept great.  Got up around 9am.  Took a shower.  Washed my hair.  Cleaned the kitty potty.  Ivalou came over to check on me...what a comfort to know she is next door.  I have even walked my 20 minutes.  Slow but walked.  Still coughing so may go to the pharmacist to see what I can take with the drugs I am taking, high blood pressure and diabetis.  Need to find that out anyway.

But I do believe I am on the up side now.  Thank God!  All I know is getting old isn't for wimps!!

Again, thanks to all of you who prayed, sent emails or even thought about me during this time.  God Bless You All!

Etta Sue I am glad to hear that you feel like  you are back among the living again.

Karma good to see that Nards is back to work at full time.

Larry glad you got some rain. We have heard here in California that the whole state except from Eureka to Crescent City is in drought.  So we have had plenty of rain here, but it does seem to be drier than previous years.

I have two tomatoes on my little plant. I am going to plant some bell peppers  over the weekend I saved some seeds and want to see if they will grow.

Hey there Colin and Jeannine What's new y-all?

Samantha, Nita, Jane etc Hey!! Check out my blog and leave a comment. The link is in my signature.

I am preparing enough food for Ruth for the entire weekend including her breakfast. I want to make sure she  has plenty to eat. I made her a nice quiche with bacon, onion, green pepper and two kinds of cheese. She brought home part of her dinner from the Senior Center today so that is also one meal. I made a big salad and put in in the fridge and I am going to make fajita fixin's tonight enough for two meals.

The weekend caregiver doesn't follow instructions very well, she tells me she knows them but forgets them. So I left her a note. Last Saturday she left Ruth with a hard boiled egg, ½ potato, and a small piece of corn on the cob  for supper. Ruth called me and said she didn't have anything to eat. I had told the the other caregiver to fix her a full meal.

She told me that Ruth can dress herself and comb her own hair. Sometimes she can but she needs to be reminded to put on clean  pull-up underwear every day and wash her, She is incontinent. As far as I am concerned no one takes better care of her than I do and if they don' t meet my standards they don't need to be there.

Ok I will get off my soapbox., I get so frustrated with people who do not follow instructions and don't CARE about the patient.

It's good to hear the news from each of you.

Good Morning all,

Hi Marilyn ~ I totally understand where you are coming from about being caregiver and being a little  :ticked: with others who don't follow directions taking care of another. I get that alot with the nurses who come to care for Michael, they just do a poor job and leave a mess, etc. Hope things improve for you.

Ruth Ann ~ hope everything is better today for you.

Etta Sue ~ glad you are feeling better as well.

Hi Larry ~ it has been very difficult for him. I don't know what to do. I can talk to him til I am blue in the face but it is up to him. He is the one who has to make the decision to live or not.

Hi to everyone else, Colin, Janet, Karmat, Al, Pat and everyone else. Still reading and praying. Have a God filled and blessed day!

My cold pills are really working.  I feel so much better today than yesterday and yesterday was better than the day before.  I must have really be bad the day before the day before!!

It is suppose to be a scorcher this weekend.  No rain.  I mowed last June 5.  Grass just isn't growing.

Hello Everyone> It has turned out to be a beautiful day here on the north coast. The wind is bit much but at lest the sun is shining. When I went shopping today I  bought a Lavendula plant. The one I had last year froze last winter, this time I am going to put it in the ground out where there is no shade.

The eating healthy and right is sure getting expensive. I can't believe I am spending so much on just me. I am buying stuff that I never would spend the money on before.  Like Turkey breast white meat cutlets and turkey Italian sausages.  I am back on the 1200 Calories Phase one  again, I gained back almost two of the 6 lbs I lost so I backed up on my diet.  :-[

I wonder where every one is? I know Pat, Janet and Al are away for a few days. So what is your excuse? yeah You! You know who you are.
<3

Well back to the observation corner, hey Jane ya got an extra chair over there?
