My goodness, a lot of posts since I last read in here!  I am praying for the family who lost the precious baby--only God can give the comfort needed in situations like that.

Ruth Ann, thank you for copying your pastor's words here for us.  Very good!

About Beth--that $10 only covers her transportation the few blocks she would go to the doctor's office if he didn't come to see her at the Home.  And in that case, there is no lifting involved anyway.  Now they are asking me to take her to Dodge to another Neurologist.........I don't know what my response should be... :-\  I think I need to go and talk to her doctor before I make my decision.

I had a very short night last night.  My arm didn't hurt much at all yesterday, until I went to bed.  Then it decided to really get with it!  I got up and took three Tylenol PM tablets, and boy, was that ever the wrong move.  I was wide awake until 5:30 AM.  Finally, about 1:30 AM I got up, played the piano for a while, then read an entire book.  Went back to bed and slept for two hours, until my darling Abby called to ask "Grandma, can you come to my birthday party?"  (It isn't until July 14.)  But I haven't felt too bad today.  Darrel and I got the last of the cherries picked, and my 90 year old friend came and helped me pit them.  She felt good to be able to do that, and we had a nice visit.

Now, Larry, tomorrow I will be making pies---anyway one pie and one cobbler (same difference!) and I wish you could be here to eat a piece with a dollop of ice cream!  Mmmmm! :)

Jeannine, your shoulder sounds very nearly like Darrel's.  He is almost finished with his PT now.  But he says it hasn't been fun.  ;) I wish you a speedy recovery with very minimal pain.

Liz, I'm so sorry about Wendy's fall.  You, Larry and I all have such heartaches with our daughters, don't we?  I'm glad Amanda will be going along so she can help her Mom.

Sarah, good to "hear" from you again.  You do stay busy, don't you, girl?  No one can ever accuse you of being lazy, that's for sure!  (((hugs)))

Hey, Pat!!  Where are you???

I think it's supper time, see you later.

Hi, friends,

Well, it's nearly midnight and I'm not asleep yet.

I wish I could write all my memories of this day and tonight.

God answers prayer in so many ways.

Someone has a terrible financial need. Twice this week, tons of free food was to be thrown away at work - the first time maybe 20-30 sandwiches piled high with good ham or turkey, deli-sliced, and slices of either swiss or cheddar cheese. And, there weren't any condiments, so the sandwiches wouldn't spoil quickly. The second time, it was a huge disposable plate piled high with leftover veggies from a big veggie tray.

So, each time, the food was brought and left in my cubicle, and someone said, we felt you'd know what to do with this - otherwise it will be thrown away. Well, that lady only lives 3 streets away from my workplace.

So, her fridge has been stocked this week with good meats, breads, cheese, and cleaned, cut and sliced fresh veggies of all types.

Oh, isn't God GOOD! He knows and provides and finds a way to make a way.

Thank you, God!

I cried as I read the comments today. God knows us and knows our needs, our failings, our weaknesses, and He loves us through it all. That's what's so amazing to me. HE KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS -- and, He loves us.

And, Sarah, we're all so very proud of you. Trust God to lead you and guide you as you plan for the future.

G'nite, friends. :)

Hi everyone.

I have some very good news to share concerning our daughter.  She received a call yesterday offering her a permanent job at MARTA, which is the Atlanta Subway and Bus system as a customer service representative.  The salary is very good and the benefits also good.  She was really floating yesterday.  If this isn't God providing for her I don't know what is because it is the type of work where she won't have to be on her feet, will be easy access using the subway.  She will start working on July 9th.  The unfortunate thing is that they hold her first paycheck so she won't be paid for about a month.  However, this is only a tiny matter.  She will receive a month of training.

Needless to say Pat and I also had to celebrate last night so we went to Longhorn's for dinner with our friends and enjoyed a delicious meal and a nice visit.

On top of all that we also had some rain last evening.  I don't know how much rain but whatever it was we welcomed and there is a good chance we will have more today.

Ruth Ann, once again you are the vessel being used as God provides for the lady in need.  I feel we need to see that unseen hand in things like this.

Janet, perhaps Beth's doctor will order an ambulance for her to be taken for the MRI.  I know this is expensive but it should be covered by her disability insurance.  You certainly don't need to be lifting her.  It is time for you to consider your needs as well as those of all the other folks around you.  Sorry you had such a rough night.

Jane and Marilyn, our homes are our personal castles and should be the way we want them to be.  What difference does it make whether someone else would do things differently?  If you like it then it is the way it should be, including whatever things you have around you.  Pat and I get tickled sometimes at the way the housekeeper fixes things as she cleans.  When she leaves we go behind her and put them back the way we want them.  For one thing as you get older you need to keep them in the same place so you can find them.  :)

Sarah, you have a wonderful program planned for your future training.  You are certainly an industrious young lady.

Liz, sorry about your daughters fall as that is certainly not something she needed to add to her pains.  It sounds like her husband needs a reality check and needs to consider how his wife is feeling in terms of long car trips.  HOpe the trip goes well.

Etta Sue, understand your concerns about the cancer.  Once we have had those words spoken to us as something we have it is pretty daunting.  However, worry won't change anything and often things aren't as bad as we worry they are going to be.

Well it is time to leave for coffee.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Janet

Ruth Ann, God bless you!  Our pastor used to tell us that you cannot be the channel by which others get blessed without "getting wet" yourself.  So I know that you were (are) blessed to be a blessing.  What a wonderful friend you are!

Etta Sue, I also will continue to pray for you, that that word cancer will only ever be used in the past tense when in reference to your body.  I know that when I am in pain, the enemy comes and whispers all kinds of terrible "what ifs" in my ear, and I have to take every thought captive to the obedience of God, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.  Then I have peace again.

I am ready to go to a tea with my lovely daughter Diane.  Afterwards, I think Abby will be coming home with me again, until Monday, at least.  She will go to a patriotic program with me on Monday.

Marilyn, I think your house sounds interesting.  Mine is filled with my paintings, lots of seashells, pictures of grandkids.  As Larry said, we each want those things that mean something to us surrounding us when we are in our own home, whether a shack or a castle, owned, rented, borrowed---still OURS while we live there.  So---enjoy!

Larry, the care home has a handicapped van like the one we have, there would not be need for an ambulance.  And I know Medicaid would pay her transportation---so I need to go find out WHY they always specify on her orders "FAMILY WILL TAKE."  Maybe they think that's the way we want it........

Larry, that is wonderful news about Stacey's new job!  Is she aware of how God is blessing her since she came home to Him?  I know you and Pat are so happy about the turn around in her life.  And I rejoice with you!

I need to go now, see you later!

Hello everyone,

I am just trying to back to C.P. after a long time away.  I have a new Internet connection which doesn't seem to be working very well, but I hope I can start looking at all of the forums.  I do pray that everyone is well and rejoicing in the Lord.  I look forward to joining in with the fellowship here once again.

God bless,

Anthony.

Etta Sue

Good morning!  I couldn't sleep much last night.  Too hot, I think.  For quite a few days after surgery, I wanted to sleep all the time.  Now I can't seem to get to sleep... :idiot:

I am thinking I will go to Noblesville to see if I can find a patriotic top to wear to church tomorrow.  On our church email list the Senior Worship Leader asked us to wear red, white and blue tomorrow.  And I have a couple of items I need at the grocery and I am hungry for a Big Mac!

Cooler today and not so humid.  Nice weather!  Tonight Ivalou and I will be going to our niece's that lives on a lake.  She is having a 50th birthday party for her boy (man)-friend.  So that will be enjoyable.

Can you believe half of 2007 is almost over :o

Good Saturday morning to you!

Anthony!  How nice to see you again.  ;) You have been missed, you know.
I hope you are able to sort out all the ins and outs of your internet connection so you will be able to, once again, be a "regular" here.

Larry~That is really good news for Stacey ... I can tell your smiles are much brighter today and I know she is really rejoicing, as well.  As Janet says, I hope she can see and know that it is the Lord who has done great things for her (Luke 1:49).

Etta Sue~I just may do that same thing: shop for "something patriotic" to wear tomorrow   The big mac sounds like something I could enjoy, too.   Too bad we can't go shopping/eating together.

I have already done the laundry, and it is all folded and put away.  Still need to iron a couple items, but that's no big deal.  Next, I am going outside to do some triming of the shrubbery and then I'll make a quick run to the store.  After that, I'm home for the rest of the day and don't plan to do much of anything else.

I'll be back here, from time to time, just to check on everyone to make sure you're all behaving!  :D
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hello Anthony so good to see you here after so long a time away. How is your dear Mum?

Janet I just knew there had to be some sort of mix up re: Beth's transportation. I pray you will get it all sorted out.

Ruth Ann you are so blessed and such a sweet spirit. It is good to know that you are being such an influence On the employees where you work and such a blessing to those in need. God loves you so much. you are a woman after God's heart.

Good news Larry, God sure does bless us when we come back to our first love doesn't he? this I know from personal experience of His love and His blessings. Hallelujah!!

Etta Sue There is a name above every name even that of cancer and His name is Jesus. Don't even believe the lies of the devil. He always tries to get into our thought and drop those "thought bombs" on us.
Quotefrom Janet  "take every thought captive to the obedience of God, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.  Then I have peace again."

Liz I am praying for Wendy.

Please continue to keep my DIL Sarah in your prayers, she has gone back to work and is working 2 days per week for the local Podiatrist. She gets so tired and the MS really gets to her, The Dr has put her on Vicodin and a muscle relaxer to help with the muscle spasms and pain. I   don't like to see her on these drugs because I know the side effects are so deadly and addiction  comes so quickly without one realizing they are addicted.

Lifeline has already called me, Ruth called her lifeline to ask when her caregiver was
coming and what time is it? I told them what to tell her and to call her son back and tell him it was not an emergency, that she is the same every day. She forget what time we are to be there even though we have drilled it into her head not to call lifeline unless it is an emergency. she spent a whole hour yesterday afternoon asking me what time  the caregiver would be there today. She needs to check her talking watch for the time. So frustrating to get these calls every day. she calls me every 10 minutes asking the time and what time I will be there. I have set my answering machine to answer on the second ring, so I don't have to keep answering the phone I cans see on my caller ID that it is her. Talk about stress. Help me Jesus. It is my day off.

Hi, friends, how good to hear from everyone. Larry, I remember the wonderful thanksgiving of a new job when a person has none. What a relief.

Janet, it seems they do have something mixed up with Beth's orders. It's not easy to have to advocate for ourselves or our loved ones.

I'm nearly worn out with the insurance company. Again this morning, I was denied one of two medications, and this one is a refill of an existing prescription that has been part of my medical care since well before the '90s were over. So, Monday morning I plan to meet personal with the head of our benefits department. This must not continue.

Marilyn, how helpless all of you must feel when you know you cannot help your daughter in law. And, then the added stress of Ruth's condition is so distressing to hear.

Etta Sue, I just put a load of laundry in and hung up my red and while shirt to wear tomorrow. Most likely the pants will be blue! Thanks for the good idea.

I'm so sorry also about Wendy's condition. I know your heart hurts along with Wendy, when you see her difficulties.

From a mother's perspective, this is something I'm dealing with, also. That feeling of being unable to help really hurts.

Oh, well, maybe once this headache goes away, today will be better.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

I have been taking it easy today. I did wash a load of rugs and the cover off the couch, and did the vacuuming, took my shower and now my hair is set and I have been knitting while watering my lawn. I went to the store for a few things and took the dogs for their walks. I am not so sure of that "taking it easy" statement now that I've told you what I have done today.

Ruth Ann my goodness you are certainly having a problem with the insurance company. I applied for new insurance on the 2nd of June and the called them back on the 15th and I still have not received the necessary papers for me to sing so it can go into effect by tomorrow.

I made the mistake of signing up with one of those Private fee for service (PFFS) insurance policies and that is a bad thing to do, they took my medicare and did all the paying themselves and would believe they only paid my chiropractor $2.63  when I got the bill for $250. I went through the roof. I am now going with the AARP plan from United Health Care. I had to call the company who supplies my CPAP machine yesterday to have them bill medicare again. Whatever y-all do don't sign up with one of those PFFS plans.!!! I cannot stress that enough.

They came from the main Senior Center in Eureka and told us do not sign up with them because they don't use your medicare plan that you are paying for it is a waste of your money.

Gotta go move the water again.

Hi, everyone.  Anthony, good to see you back. :)

I'm sitting here waiting for my sister and son to get home.  They ran to town to get tomatoes from my daughter, Kim (her mil gave her a bunch that were given to her) and then to the store to get shrimp.   We have fresh cracked crab (my son cooked and they all cracked...I can't stand the smell..) and I'm making crab and shrimp sandwiches for them.  I'm having salad.

Janet, I know this stress over Beth must be so hard.  It just seems one thing after another.  Bless your heart.  God knows just how much you can take, but it seems He sure takes us to the testing edge at times.  He must trust you a lot.  I'm sure you've show Him that you are faithful in good times and in bad.

Marilyn, I smiled when I read about your place.  I have a blank frame hanging on my wall.  It's been there for a month or so.  I can't decide what I want to put in it. haha It's not the first time it's happened, so family members just laugh at me.  I can't make up my mind.   My furniture is positioned so that the couch is in front of the window so that Rocko can have his favorite view, laying in his favorite spot.  I have toy and bones on my floor all the time.  :)

Larry, that's so wonderful about your daughter getting that good job.  I know it relieves you and Pat to no end.  A deep sigh and a heartfelt, "Thank you, Father"..huh?

Sarah, I hope you are enjoying your day off from everything. :)  Did you get to swim?   And, of course, study.

Hi, Jane.  Hi, Ruth Ann.  Hi, Etta Sue and Al and all the others I've missed.

The gang is back so I need to go do my part.

Okay, Larry!  That cherry pie is setting on the kitchen counter, just waiting for you to come over and enjoy a piece.(Actually, there are four of them.) I ate a piece with black walnut ice cream (that's what we had on hand) and enjoyed the fruits of my labor.  Good, if I do say so myself.  Abby enjoyed rolling pie dough and helping make the lattice top crusts.

Anthony!  Great to have you back with us.  I hope your internet connection will work well and you can come often to post and read.

Ruth Ann, I hope you get the insurance problems all straightened out soon.  You shouldn't have to be having that aggravation.  >:(

Liz, that was brave of you to stand up to the guys trying to remove the gate.  Sorry they are destroying your beautiful area.  It just isn't right---and of course, it is all about $$$$$.  Always is.

Tea tea/luncheon at Diane's church was really nice.  We had a good time, good fellowship and good food.  Abby was in a cute skit, too.

We are having a church dinner tomorrow, so some of the pies will be going there.  I took one to my friend Pat, for her help in picking and pitting the cherries.  Will take half of one to my 90 year old friend for her help, and of course, just because I love them both.  So, Larry, you better hurry on over for yours!  ;)

See you later!

Hi everyone.

Janet, believe me if I lived close I would be over.  I can just savor the taste as I write so guess that is the next best thing.  I know you must be a great cook.  I have been blest in my life by a grandmother, mother and wife who are outstanding cooks, although my wife is reaching the point where she is getting really tired of cooking.  Sometimes just lifting the small skillet from the stove top brings on very strong pain in her arm.  We do eat often as often as we can although that becomes a chore also in trying to decide where to get and finding a place where the food is something we should be eating.  I hope you are having a great time with Abby this weekend.  I know she must take your mind off some of the other concerns that you are dealing with.

Thank you all for the comments concerning my daughter and her new job.  I am confident that she is most aware of the role of God in this situation.  He has been taking care of her this past year and the results have been spectacular.  Maybe for the first time in my life and I aware of the many blessings that God is providing once I got out of the way and quit trying to control everything.  Our daughter is also most aware of the miracles in her life that God has granted as she has sought him on a day by day basis and turned her life and her will over to him.

Marilyn, your day off was busy but at least it was a change of pace and that is probably what is important.  You could do what you wanted to do when you wanted to do it and not because you were required to do so by your job.  Have you tried making a big sign and putting at Ruth's telephone saying what time the caregiver will be there and to check her watch?  I realize she might forget to actually see such a sign but it is a thought.  Know the constant ringing of your phone can be irritating.

Ruth Ann, I am shocked that you have a new problem with your medications and your insurance.  It is bad enough dealing with the illness without having to be fighting the insurance company.  Hope you get it ironed out tomorrow.

Jane, you speak of trimming the shrub.  We stopped yesterday to get a new set of shears to be used in trimming our crepe myrtle tree.  The landscape guys keep our other scrubs trimmed, although I sometimes have to remind them.

Sarah, hope you really enjoy your day off and being able to do some fun things.

Etta Sue, I take it you are feeling better now although it is not good not being able to sleep.  I have to say that is something I seldom experience.  I rest and sleep alot as I tire very easily. Hope you enjoy(ed) the birthday party.

Anthony, long time for see.  It is nice to see you posting again and I hope you will visit with us often and that your new Internet connection is soon working properly.

We are going to church in a little while.  This is Communion Sunday.  We never know about where or if we will go out to eat after church with a group of friend but likely we will do so.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Al Moak

Thank God for His mercy!  I only got up once all night, which is quite a change from the 3-5 times just about a week ago.  I know it's a little late, but I too relate to your daughter's finding a good job, Larry.  What a relief that can be.  Also, it's good you have the landscape people to do the majority of the outside work for you.  We just had a new man come yesterday.  He's doing most of the yards in the mobile park now, and I can see why - he does an excellent job.  So at least that's done for another month or so.

Nice to see you, Anthony.  Hope you come back often.  Ruth Ann - I pray our God will move the insurance company to get in line.  I'm very, very glad that hasn't happened to us.  We seem to have a good setup right now.

The birthday party was great.  Keri lives by a lake...not lakeside but there are no houses between her and the lake.  There were probably 25 people.  Great food and Jeff, the honoree, is so funny.  About dark we looked up and there were three hot air balloons going overhead.  Not much wind last evening so they weren't going very fast.  I would be afraid I would land in the lake!!

Church was awesome.  Very enjoyable.  We say we are Christians but do we strive to put ourselves aside to live like Jesus?

Now that I am home, I plan to get caught up online then finishing reading the book I am reading.  And probably take a nap.  Last night was another one of those nights!   :'(

We're home from church and the dinner.  Abby invited Brooklyn, one of the pastor's daughters to come out for the afternoon, so they are playing with the dog and cat, giggling and just being girls.  :)

I will be back later, need to take some pain pills and see if this pain in my arm will calm down some.

What a wonderful day it is today. The son is shining and the weather is perfect. I am home from church. Our numbers are way down only 21 people there today. Please pray for Abundant Life center we are really going through some changes and need revival.

I have some Mexican music on my radio, I have no idea what they are saying but I have always liked the music.

Nita I forgot to mention that there are dog toys all over in and out of the house, and in my bedroom is a special set of doggie stairs that I bought for Happy so he could get on the bed since I now have it on 4 inch risers and a new high mattress. He hasn't used them yet.

Janet I love my  little house, God gave this house to me and it may be cluttered but I am so trying to downsize and get stuff out of the shed to give to charity. I don't have the patience to get it ready for EBay or a yard sale. I have been planting new things in the yard and even have a tomato plant and some garlic in pots, I planted some Bell pepper seeds in a pot too.

I had to go to the Vet on Friday to pick up some tranquilizers for Happy for over the fourth. He just cannot tolerate loud noises. Friday night about 10 pm there was a loud boom and there he went right under the bed shaking like a leaf. I had not given him a pill. I gave him a pill last night about 8 pm and there was no noise last night. Poor dog is still groggy this morning. So tonight it will be ½ pill.

Well that's about all I can remember that I lost and then some.

Hi, friends,

It's good to finally be able to come to the computer. That headache, to borrow a phrase I've heard from the Middle East, was the Mother of All Headaches.  :(

I spent the rest of yesterday and most of today with a dark cloth over my face to protect the eyes from light. Finally it's better, so I thank God for that.

And, also, that there are good sermons on tv when we're not able to attend worship. It really bothers me, though, to be late with my tithe.
Our church, too, is small, and I need to be faithful in all things, including the offering.

I get yesterday's mail out of the mailbox this afternoon, and I now KNOW that the insurance company has problems. They sent me some letter saying that I work for Western Union~~~So, it's really time to meet with the benefits administrator. Poor lady, she will probably go gray instantly when I call for an appointment!

Y'all have a good evening.
