Hi everyone. I am getting tired of the overcast weather here and yearning for the sunshine. My Creative juices are  flowing again and Ive been busy creating new stationeries to send in to my stat group.

Great workout at Curves this morning and I'm not so concerned about my weight as I discovered that for my age and height I am only 5 lbs heavy. No big deal.

My client's Husband is still in the hospital after going there by ambulance at 2 am yesterday. However I am going to work tomorrow (Saturday) to get some baking done for her that needs doing. don't usually work Saturdays but since I will be in Oregon next Friday I am working the extra day this week.

I still need to go to the grocery store today to get myself some fruits, veggies and nonfat milk.

My friend is a retiree from Air Canada and they can take friends on a reduced rate so it saved me a lot of money and it was so nice to ba able to see them.  It has been over 1 year since I saw him and I miss him a lot.  Well I must go as we have a lot of things to do as my family arrive from Scotland tomorrw and we have to get ready.  Please pray that we get many oppertunities to witness to them.  God bless you all and have a wonderful weekend.Gord. :coffee:

Hi everyone.

This has been a busy week and I thought it was going to be a quiet one.  I have spent a lot of time on computers and last evening a friend called and asked me to help them set up their DSL service after being on dial-up for years.  It should have been an easy choir but we did have some difficulties including not plugging the ethernet cable back into the modem.  We were about to give up when I stood up to leave and saw it wasn't connected.  That allowed us to communicate with the modem and we did get the account set up and when I left they were on the Internet.  This morning he called me that they couldn't get any pages to load.  I stopped back by and am pretty sure the modem has failed.  They are sending him another on Monday so hopefully he will be all set.

I then went to the county Senior Center to train one of the ladies there to update the website that I have maintained for them the last 9 years.  She was a quick learner so don't think she will have any trouble. I went from there on to have more blood drawn to repeat some tests that didn't turn out right.  I will see my gastroenteritist next week and my regular doctor wanted these tests redone.  I then made a quick stop at Penny's to pick up a new catalog with a card we got in the mail yesterday.  That was enough for one day.

Today was weight in day on my WW's and was happy to see a 3 1/2 pound reduction so know the program is working.  I definitely plan to stay with the program.

Lots of interesting postings today.  I will try to make individual postings today and this is already long.

Pat - thanks very, very much, but your post was blank (at least here it was blank).

Hi everyone.  I will make a brief posting the first thing this morning in case I don't get back later in the day.  It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here in the Atlanta area.  We have a light schedule today with only a meeting to attend this morning.  Of course, sometimes the days don't turn out as intended.

I think I have my laptop pretty well organized and setup the way I want it.  I am really shocked at the great sound quality of the speakers--like nothing I have experienced before from a laptop.  They are small but have a great tone and reasonable quality.  I can now enjoy music without having to use the earphones all the time.  I studied the book that came with it last evening to better understand all of the features and redid the face recognition identification as had my glass on the first time.  I also took my first webcam picture using it and if the subject was beeter (it was me sitting in my easychair in front of the computer where the camera is) it would have been quite good.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  Time to leave for coffee.

Marilyn

Good Morning: I  have to work both jobs today  as I already said I am leaving for Oregon Thursday right after work.

My Client called and her husband is home from the hospital, thank you  to everyone who prayed for him. sdhe brought him home yesterday.

I have changed the dog's diet, I am now giving them each a full can of meat dog food for breakfast and the kibble for the eveing meal. To the meat I added a teaspoon of ground flax seed, ¼ teas each of Glucosamine and MSM along with  tablespoon of Olive oil. I realized that Happy being 11 now needs more meat and other things in his diet to help his coat and skin as well as his joints.

The get together was a success!!  26 people showed up.  Lots of great food and really not too hot back there in the woods.  Seems it is always 10-15 degrees cooler especially if there is a breeze.  And they were asking to return next year so we are going to try for June 12, 2009 with a rain date the following week.  I have already gotten 4 thank you's by email!!  That makes you feel good!

Tonight is a surprise birthday party for Ivalou's 75th!  She thinks we are going out for Chinese!!!  So I am sure it will be a fun evening and I know she will be surprised.  I have been avoiding her all week for fear I would let the cat out of the bag.  She will probably have a houseful of people tonight with all the Ohio ones being here!!

Trust you all are having a good Saturday.
Its cloudy here today but very warm.
It seems my strawberries are not doing so good has I thought-so it looks like a short supply of strawberries this year.
But I have planted some more plants this year and hopefully this will give me enough strawberries for awhile.

Jeannie good to hear of that report for your husband. pray that he will be able to come home quickly.

Good morning everyone.  It is going to be a hot day in July here in Georgia, well into the 90s and the air quality isn't very good around here, especially downtown Atlanta and nearby suburbs.  We will attend church this morning and probably eat out and that is the plan for the day.

Our daughter was admitted back into the hospital for the 3rd time with the infection to receive IV antibiotics.  Nothing seems to be solving the problem and her foot is aching about all the time now.  Initially they told her she would be on the telemetry floor as her heart rate was 159 when so got there and is still above 110 and goes higher when she gets up.  The doctors feel this is in part from the infection and so decided not to put her on the heart wing of the hospital.  We spoke to her this morning and she said the foot is redder and the infection appears to be spreading.  One of the doctors told her yesterday that the high heart rate is causing her heart to beat itself to death.  She certainly has multiple problems.  They are suppose to be a MRI of her foot while she is in the hospital and if they don't it would be October before she could get an appointment.  She thinks they will keep her for several days in the hospital.

Jeannine, glad to hear your husband is improving and do hope the progress is rapid.

Etta Sue, your picnic sounds like it was a great success and the word will likely spread before next year.  Hope you had a great time at the surprise party.

Melody, when I was growing up we lived on a farm and my mother had a very large garden, including a huge strawberry patch.  I can remember the hard work it was to pick the strawberries and then getting sort of "burned out" on eating them as we had them in so many way.  I still would say that strawberries are far from my favorite fruit.  However, hope your crop improves as it sounds like you were really anticipating them this year.

Marilyn, you treat your dogs so well.  It is good that you pay so much attention to their diets.

I almost forgot to mention some really good news.  Our son has been working through a temp agency for a Japanese company in Aiken, S.C.  The three months period that he has to stay a tempt is about over and Friday they called him in and offered him a full-time permanent job continuing to do what he has done as a temp.  The pay isn't too high but the benefits are wonderful as the company pays for 97% of the costs of health insurance and the other benefits.  They also provide uniforms for all of their employees, including those who work in the offices (as he does).  He was very excited and relieved as he has gone for a long time without being able to afford any health insurance.  He really seems to like this work, which is in human relations.

Al Moak

Wonderful news about your son, Larry!  Sometimes those jobs that cover health insurance, etc. are really much better than the ones that pay more.  I pray he'll enjoy and do well.

melody

Good morning everyone. I trust you will feel God's blessings today. This is the day the Lord has made and I will be glad and rejoice in it.

Larry-I only have a small patch of strawberries which I plant in my garden. But it seems that they have not done good this year for some reason.
Praying for the Lord to touch your daughter. That this infection will clear up quickly
Praising God with you that your son got a good job. God is faithful.
Have a good day all.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

Happy Sunday! I had a stressful week with extremely long hours, off site meetings and lots of training sessions and teleconferences.

However, it's also been a very good week with plenty of emotions. Tuesday, I was in a long-distance training session and someone in the office where I work phoned asking me to come over to her desk. So, thinking it was urgent, I promised to phone the 2 people I was training to call them back. When I got over to Trenda's desk, there they were with all sorts of cake and friends to give me retirement good wishes and hugs aplenty. Of course, I teared up.

Then Wednesday when I got to an offsite meeting with my biggest client, lo and behold, they not only had a regular down-to-business meeting, but they also presented me with a beautiful plaque thanking me for excellent service and wishing me "all the best in your retirement." So, of course, I had a huge lump in my throat over that along with very misty eyes.

That meeting began on the dot at 7 a.m. and lasted through dinner until 9:45 p.m. Then back on Thursday with higher officials of the same company serving as moderator between certain vendors and that company until midday.

My ex-boss called during a break in the meeting and asked me for lunch next Wednesday. Well, with my son who lives in the UK being in the US already and coming to Nashville, I declined. So, he persisted, and I met him in his new company's parking lot on Thursday at lunchtime. He took me to a favorite restaurant of mine that serves Thai food. Oh, YUM! Their green chicken curry is my favorite - and they even tamed down the "heat" a bit so I could enjoy it. :) Reason for the lunch meeting??? My upcoming birthday, which I had forgotten.  :idiot:

Friday was friends from work dropping by or calling. Also, I learned that the hospital that operated on my thumb has royally goofed up in their billings AGAIN, so the money has been nearly depleted from my medical savings account which is supposed to pay for my knee surgery week after next. Yikes! They've escalated this to high priority and have promised that by Wednesday they'll get it straightened out and the money wired to replace their withdrawals. Always something, isn't it.

So, I literally slept ALL of yesterday away. My son got worried because he couldn't get me to wake up. But, about 5 p.m. I was ready to get up and of course very hungry. I ate a snack and he and I together put up the new light fixture in our kitchen. Then we had a bit of supper, and I went to my bedroom to watch TV - which of course, ended up watching me! ;)

So, I got up this morning, thinking it was Saturday, began doing my Saturday chores, went to my bedroom to rest a moment and Joel Osteen was speaking on TV. Well, he comes on on Sundays! So, here I am, it's Sunday and I didn't even go to worship.

I've read all the postings, and hope to have lots more time from now on out. It's vacation all this week, but here in town. Then, just 2 days to work, the knee replacement on the 30th, and fully retired as of the 31st.

Y'all have a wonderful day with the Lord.

What a busy week you have had Ruth Ann  congratulations on your coming Brithday and retirement. Sounds like people are very appreciative of your service.

Praying for Stacey, Larry. I remember when I was taking care of Gloria and her toe/foot got so infected, they treated it for months and months ended up having to amputate the toe.

I  didn't go to church this morning I watched John Hagee and Charles Stanley on TV instead. I just felt like soaking up the word today instead of going to church. I am just taking it easy today and keeping an eye on Bebe, I don't want her to hurt he leg any further. I prayed over her  this morning So I know she will get better soon.

Nita I sent you a link to a nice site about  dogs.

Hi to everyone else hope you have a blessed Sunday.

The surprise birthday party for Ivalou's 75th was a huge success.  She didn't have a clue what was going on.  There was 29 people there.  And the really big surprise is she has 14 extra house guests last night.  The ones from Ohio didn't want to go back home last night so she had wall-to-wall people all night.

She didn't go to church this morning but I went by myself to her church.  I saw one lady that I hadn't seen for 49 years so I introduced myself and then hugged and chatted about old times for a while.  Then four other ladies and I went to a steak house for lunch.  As I was driving my driveway the last car was leaving Ivalou's driveway.

And her birthday is the 22nd and we are going to 'Beef and Boards' so she will be celebrating again!!

Samantha Bebe injured the ACL in her left rear knee 3 years ago. Every now and then it bothers her. This is the worst it has ever been, I think she reinjured it jumping off my bed, which is rather high. I have called a friend about getting a big crate for her to sleep in. She has been hopping around on three legs for two days now. Soemtimes she will put her foot down very gingerly then pick it right back up.

Please pray for my dog Bebe.
