JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Can't find a midi file for this wonderful hymn so I just enjoy reading the words.  It's a hymn on the Welsh Hymnmakers CD and it's just beautiful to hear the male choir singing it.

Hope you all enjoy the words.

Lots of meaning in them.

The Enormous Load of Human Guilt

The enormous load of human guilt
Was on my Saviour laid;
With woes as with a garment He
For sinners was arrayed.

And in the fearful pangs of death
He wept, He prayed for me;
Loved and embraced my guilty soul
When nailed to the tree.

O love amazing! love beyond
The reach of human tongue;
Love which shall be the subject of
An everlasting song.

Eternity, though infinite,
Is short enough to trace
The virtues of His healing wounds,
The wonders of His grace.

Ye men, rejoice in Jesu's blood,
Ye angels, join your lays;
In one harmonious endless choir
Sing His eternal praise.

Hi everyone and welcome Scott.  We are always happy to see new folks join in with us and very shortly you will feel right at home here.

We made it safely to Florida about 1:45 this afternoon and are enjoying visiting with Pat's aunt.  Unfortunately she has become very hard of hearing and seems to have a hard time hearing my voice but can hear Pat.  Pat's cousin and her husband also live here in St. Petersburg and they stopped by for a few minutes this evening.  It is hot down here and the air conditioning isn't working.  It is very humid but has cooled down a little.  They are in drought conditions here as we are in Georgia.

We really enjoyed our trip yesterday to Valdosta as we went on a State highway almost all the way with hardly any traffic and very good roads.  It took an extra hour or so on the road but was much less stressful.  The drive today was on I-75, which involved a lot of traffic, but we had no problems.

I have read all the postings but am tired as it is fairly late and I am about ready to retire for the night.

Welcome, SM. My dad was a bivocational pastor, so I can easily imagine you going about your daily duties and having a big heart full of love for your flock. God bless you, and thank you for becoming our newest family member.

Greetings to everyone else. Etta Sue, I'll imagine how beautiful that bathroom floor is. Congratulations on a job well done.

It was an extremely busy day today, but ended up well with me attending an extremely interesting, challenging, and rewarding spanish class. :)

Y'all have a great rest of the day, wherever you are.

Do you have sermons on CDs that you listen to?

I was just going to look for an online sermon of John Piper's to listen to.  I had seen the title of it some time ago and hope that I find it.

I do indeed, I get them from several different vendors and ministries. I also like downloading mp3 sermons from sermonaudio and loading them on an ipod. I have a transmitter that I hook up to the ipod and I can get the sermon through my FM radio in the car, it sounds more difficult than it really is. The ipod lets me have hundreds of hours of sermons, hymns and even seminary lectures ready to go at all times. Technology, though often frustrating, can be such a blessing!

My wife just listened to Dr. Piper's sermon series on Job, she was very moved by God's dealing with Job and we were blessed. Dr. Piper is very good, one of my favorites. I also like Paul Washer, he's a bold Gospel preacher of the sort we desperately need. Another of my favorites is Dr. Voddie Baucham, he was my elder for a time and also played a part in discipling me and my fellow elder in pastoral things, so there's a soft spot there. But if anyone is looking for bold preaching, both Washer and Baucham have preached alongside Dr. Piper at the Desiring God conferences and are of the same theological flavor.

Thanks for all the kind words, I was just sharing with my wife how thrilled I am to have discovered this forum.  :)

Well it is nearly midnight.  Kass still has a headache, this was day three.  She has been sick to her tummy as well so tomorrow to the clinic.  I wish I could get her into the Doctor.  That is a 2 week waiting period to just get an appointment.  The joys of our medical system.

I was unaware that Dana had not been kenneled for the night.  I walked from the TV room to the kitchen to check emails and she followed me.  She went to a doggie bed curled up and is sawing logs!  The bed is too small for her, she keeps on trying to curl up tighter so she fits!  Silly dog.  She is above sleeping on the floor.

Well I must get some sleep.  Big day ahead of me.

Good night everyone, God bless each of you with a restful sleep.

:)  Good evening to all.  We are having some rain in the Niagara region today but earlier today was able to do a little bit of yard work.  I was able to take the wrapping of the evergreen trees and my blue spruce tree. So the day was not a waist of time.   In the morning I was at the mission this morning and it was very quiet for the first part then the last 45mins. it got very busy.  It is so amazing how God supplies the needs for the mission always when you need them.  We also had friends arrive from Florida today and they are staying for two nights so that will be fun.

Larry:   I hope that you have a wonderful and restful time in Florida.

Scott:  Welcome to our site.   May God richly bless you in your ministry and may he grant you the desires of your hart.  It is great to you have you here please keep the postings coming.

Ruth Ann.  I hope that you have know more problems with your ears.  God bless and heal you.  Gord.

Hi Al:   How are you.  I think you have forgot to answer me back.  How are the legs doing and are you getting any better sleep.   I pray and hope that you are.  The Lord bless you.

To all other C.P. peoplemay the Lord give you all a wonderful weekend.   God Bless. Gord. <3

Paul Washer is amazing, Scott.

The first time I watched him speak was at a Youth Conference.  I think it was on their website and how moving it was.  He certainly spoke from the heart.

Sermon Audio is one of my favourite sites.  I believe that it was started by a group associated by the Free Presbyterian Church and we used to attend that church when we lived in Toronto.    Of course the site has grown so much since it started.

Night Night Gord!

Talk to you soon, Judy.

Just an update, folks!

Judy McKenna
Tomorrow I will be taking Norm to Hamilton and we'll be at the Henderson Hospital while Judy has her second surgery in 4 weeks.  This one tomorrow is going to be very different for her though as she's been told that she will no longer walk again.  She has to have a "concrete girdle" put in her hip and it will not be able to withstand her body on her legs so she'll be in a wheel chair from now on.

Needless to say, she's very upset by this news.  Her house will not be suitable for a wheel chair so she and Norm will have to consider moving.

We had a time of prayer together that the Lord would give her peace through the night before the surgery tomorrow and I prayed that the Great Physician would enfold her in His tender loving arms and give her peace at this time.

Please pray for Judy.

Yes, Pat, I am praying for Judy ... I saw your post this morning on S&F.  I will always remember her at the PA/NY bash ... she was such a "trooper" and has come through so much -- and many surgeries -- this must be a very difficult time for her, as well as for Norm.  I also will pray that she will be comforted, and at peace, in our Father's arms.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Carol

Pat:  Thank you for sending along information on Judy. Praying for Judy.  These are the tough trials that no one wants to hear.  Are you getting closer to moving into the new house?

Welcome to Pastor Scott from Texas! It is good to see you here. We lived in Plano for 9 years and did a little bit of hurricane Rita repair in Port Arthur once.  Missing the great seafood!

Etta Sue:  Great job!

Today, I hope our daughter makes it to the airport and can catch the plane to visit us.  She sent pictures of their heavy snowfall and we found out that there were lots of car crashes yesterday near the Denver area.  We are anxious to go home but not interested in driving in another blizzard.

JudyB

PAt let Judy know she is remembered here on CP and Missed.  I am praying for her.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Pat and I both got a great night's sleep.  Pat had a back spasm that gave her fits all evening and she was terribly miserable.  However, this morning it seems to be gone and she is feeling fine.

It is overcast here in Florida this morning and so far it is comfortable, if a bit humid, here in the house.  We all slept late and then lingered over the breakfast table and now the ladies are getting ready for the day.  We need to go to the grocery store for a few items for dinner tonight.  Pat will make spaghetti with meatballs and a salad and then we will have fresh strawberries with ice cream and chocolate sauce.  We had strawberries fixed that way last evening and it was very good.

Scott, I have not heard of either of the ministers you mentioned.  I made a note of them for future reference.

Judy, sorry to read that you still have a sick daughter.

Gord, how often do you work at the mission?

Pat, thanks for sharing the information on Judy.  She is a lady who must have a lot of grit as she has certainly endured a lot and looks so fragile.  Glad you can help Norm to get to the hospital.

Carol, I saw on the weather map last night Colorado, or a good portion of it, covered in white.  Hope the snow storms are over by the time you get back to your home in Colorado. We are also seeing the stories of the terrible flooding in the Fargo, North Dakota area.  Such tragedy.

Etta Sue, I saw your note that you had completed the floor in your bathroom.  You are a very resourceful person.  Hope your friend didn't find the angiogram too stressful.  I have had many of them and, while not pleasant, are certainly very tolerable and there is a quick recovery.  What did they find?

Ruth Ann, hope your ear is feeling much better now.  It has been a long time since I had an earache but still remember it is a very unpleasnt experience.

Etta Sue

Scott!

I am getting used to seeing 'water' on the bathroom floor.  Ivalou came over yesterday and she was impressed!

Larry ~ Kitty is home.  Seems they did the heart cath through an artery in her right arm.  Small artery.  She said she didn't feel the 'cut' but felt it in her artery.  So they had to keep pushing her drugs.  Thank God, she has no blockages.  She was to come home at 9 that night but had to stay.  She had a bleed where they cut her arm.  Then she was allergic to the dye!  So she was vomiting.  She is allergic to fish and I guess the dye has some fishy stuff in it!  She got home yesterday afternoon but isn't to use her arm for 4 days and of course, keep watch that it doesn't bleed again.  So she typed me an email with her left hand.  She got in the shower and said she felt much better.  I think they are going to check her thyroid now to find out why she is so tired all the time and out of breath!  She said if that is okay then it is her She's 66.

Pat ~ Thanks for the post on Judy Mc.  Please give her my love.  I remember her and Norm so well in Calgary!  That would be a hard pill to swallow...knowing you won't walk again.  But God will be with her.

JudyB ~ Sorry that Kass is still ill.  Hope you find out what is wrong.

Carol ~ I saw pictures of the snow in Denver on Seniors and Friends.  The forecast here for Sunday is chances of snow!!  Don't want to shovel anymore until Christmas!

Jane ~ Hi to you!  Is your rain over?

Gord ~ Spring will be here soon.  I didn't even hear them but when I went out for the mail yesterday I saw that the farmers had been out.  The field across the road from me had been disked and the field behind Ivalou had been done something to the corn stubble.  Today the sod farmer is busy in the field beside of me.  Everything is greening up and a prettier brown!

Ruth Ann ~ How interesting...Spanish class.  Since my classmate is in Mexico that would be nice to know a little Spanish, too!

Ruth ~ We have depressing days....makes us enjoy the joyful days more.

Last evening I was invited to a Jewelry party at my niece's house....a good diversion from working in the house.  I did purchase a pair of earrings...like I need more!  Robin has a huge great room and Jeff and her had removed the carpet in there and put down laminate flooring!  Glad mine was a small room!  But they didn't have to trim around a commode!!

Today...I may rearrange the living room, dust and sweep.  Then again, I may not!

Will talk to you all later after I get home from the hospital.

Just finished reading what everyone is busy doing.  Earlier in the day I had called my brother in law , he lives farther north than Judy B and guess what, I forgot to ask him what kind of day it was I would think that they still have ice and perhaps snow in the low areas.

Pat so sorry to hear about Judy M problems.
Judy:  Yes Mel looked at the Big Bass it is a big one

I did not feel like cooking dinner and since I was already out I brought KFC home.

Gord - thanks for asking about my leg situation.  The did the wrap on them for about a month and a half, and the swelling came down rather nicely.  However, now that it's been a few weeks with just the regular shoes/sox and compression hosiery, the left leg seems to have swelled up just a bit, so I'm praying it won't continue that way.  I need to preach at our church this Sunday, so I'm not going to do anything about it until after that's done, as I wouldn't be able to get up to the pulpit/lectern if my legs were all wrapped again!  Please continue to pray.

Al Continuing to pray.

About Kass,  We had her at the clinic tonight.  She is on 3 strong meds.  One to ward off the migranes, then a stronger pain killer and finally T3's if nothing else works.  If the tummy upset continues or gets worse it will mean a trip to hospital to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated.  He diagnosed her with cluster migranes. I have them so does Heather looks like it is a family thing.

John will be home to sleep and drop his laundry tonight then gone tomorrow and home again for the night and gone again Sunday.  He won't then be back home till Wednesday.  Then he will need to reset his logbook, 36 hours off.

Got to go; have a good sleep tonight everyone.

Pat

Visited Judy McKenna.  Just got home.  She's in good spirits.  Her surgery was cancelled for today and might be tomorrow or Sunday.  We just don't know yet.

Norm needs lots of prayer as well.  He's just not well.  But it was good to be able to drive him down to Hamilton to see Judy and let them have a visit together.

Paul and I have had our devotional time and it's time to go to bed.

What a wonderful devotion we had in our brother Alan's Psalm study in 119 here at this link:  http://www.christianphotographers.com/community/index.php?topic=2203.0

How it touched my heart tonight.

We have a gold mine here on our site with so many studies so ably put together by Alan.

Hi everyone.  It is very warm and muggy here in St. Petersburg.  We are awaiting the arrival of the air-conditioning serviceman and sure hope he can get the air-conditioner fixed this morning.  Yesterday there was a breeze most of the day that really helped but we don't seem to have that today.  It didn't seem to cool off much during the night.

This is our last day in Florida for the present trip.  We will leave fairly early tomorrow morning and I plan on driving all the way home tomorrow.  We have had a nice visit with Pat's Aunt and her daughter and husband.  We will be going to Pat's cousins home this evening for dinner.

Nothing else new down this way.

Etta Sue, glad to hear the good news regarding Kitty's heart.  Hope they find out why the tiredness.

Pat, sorry to hear of the delay for Judy.  You work up emotionally for a big surgery and then to have it canceled is tough.

JudyB, hope the medications soon have Kass up and going.  Nice to hear that John has a few hours at home this weekend.

Hi Ruth and Al and all who venture by today.

Well Kass is up and going.  This is the best I have seen her in weeks.  Thank you  for praying.  She had a good night's sleep and "I feel better!"

Thank you, all of you, for praying.

We have a muggy day here today. foggy and a skiff of snow.  Tomorrow is to be snow, rain, and freezing rain.  Those of you who know the north know the time John is going to have tomorrow, he has to head for Thunderbay via the north route.  Please pray that the weather is a non event.

Have a great day folks I have to run.

Pat

Well, at least the north route won't have the hills that the Hwy. 17 one does so that's a plus.

It's a lovely day here today.  It's chilly but the sun is shining.

I see my thermometer thingy in my signature isn't working.

Scott: Welcome to a great site.  I appreciate all of your comments.  You sound like a "down to earth" kinda guy.

I think we all have our favorite preachers to listen to.  I am on the road a lot and listen to quite a few radio preachers.  My day is so blessed as I listen to these great speakers.  God often speaks to my heart through their preaching or testamonies.

Focus on the Family had "Son of Sam," David Burkowicz on for 3 days.  David became a christian after being in prison for 10 yrs.  He is serving 6 life sentences for the murders he committed.

But as we all can testify, God can greatly change a person.  That is what He has done to David.  He has now been in prison for over 32 years and God has given him a ministry in prison.  He really loves the Lord

Next week Thursday Donna & I travel to South Bend, Indiana for a free conference on Bible prophecy, with Dr David Jeremish at Notre Dame.

I went and voted.   Hard to make a choice.  All are lovely.

I love the picture you did for Scott, Etta Sue.  Think I will do a sketch and paint it.  Love painting mist for some reason.  When Amanda was small, she asked  'Gramie, why did you put dust on your picture?'    Hah!

I am making dinner tonight and must go make an Angel Food Cake.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.
