Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Purple carrots!  :yikes: No I have not. All my carrots were orange and delicious. I had a big hand full this afternoon with some ranch dressing.

However I am growing purple butter beans this year and I have never seen them before either. Well the bean is actually black with a white stripe, the hulls and flowers are purple. They are beautiful. I am going to try them in hanging baskets next year. The person that gave them to me said they were ornamental butter beans. I'll try to find out more about them. I took photos of them this afternoon and will try to post some after church tonight.

Did you get any photos of the carrots?

Purple carrots, purple butter beans.....we had some purple sweet potatoes a while back, but they came from Thailand.  Purple seems to be becoming a popular color for veggies!

Yes, Marilyn, we have a geodesic dome.  Sorry I forgot to answer you sooner.  I knew there was something I was forgetting..... :-\  It has three levels plus a cupola.  But it is in terrible condition now.  Darrel's brother built it, and he didn't use the right materials, but that's another story.

MRSA......that's awful.  I was surely praying Beth wouldn't get that while in the hospital!  And she didn't.

I have been digging out and sorting all day again, in my studio.  So much stuff, so little space.  But I will have more space when I get finished!  Of course I am finding stuff I had forgotten I ever owned.  I hope others will be able to enjoy all of it.

John, good to see you posting and glad you're getting better, hope your return to work goes smoothly.

I need to go to the photographer's site and look at the pics Beth, John and Becki had taken.  I haven't seen them yet.

JudyB and Jeanne:  MRSA is what I call one of the evil diseases - shows no mercy.  I heard that once you have the disease and ever catch it the 2nd. time, it is almost impossible to fight.  Will not think of that scenario ever.

I had to walk away from the t.v. news - there are some politicians in this country that should be ousted promptly but it will never happen.

Janet:  Some people say that if you haven't used something in a few years to get rid of it - that is not always so great because you can end up buying the same thing when you really need it again.  Good luck.  I keep going through things here & always have plus we have moved many times so that brings the load down.  The geodesic dome shape is one that some architect wants to use in hurricane country as the shape itself is stronger in the wind.

Carol

I was listening to Joyce Meyer for a while today and she was telling a huge audience to stop thinking only of yourself and get out there and do something to help - even any little thing is a change for the better for someone else.  Inspiring.

Peeked in to read the devotional and see the pictures and wanted to say how I enjoyed it and gain something new.  I feel so bad for those in Ga.  Much of the rain is missing us here in Fl. and going that way.  Prayers for all those in need.  I hope to come back more but sometimes no time for much puter.  It was a good visit. thanks. alice

I looked at the newbie and sadly that tells how often I get  in here.  I have been coming here several years but just not often and often don't post.  Oh my.

JudyB

Don I should send you sone seed!  Remind me in the spring.  William Dam Seeds offers a purple carrot as well as a multi coloured carrot.

They tested John for MRSA.  Apparently about 4 years ago he tested positive.  This time all three tests came back clean Praise God for that.

Alice come back again soon!

Night all!

Etta Sue

I have been at the hospital since 2:30PM.  Just got home.  Ivalou had a stroke.  Her daughter-in-law Linda was visiting and she called me on Voice Mail and said  Ivalou wasn't right and she thought she was having a stroke.  Then Kaye Don called on Voice Mail and said he called 911.  Then he called back and said they were on the way to the hospital.  I was visiting with my friends and finally checked my cell phone.  I was 30 miles away at least!  But I got to the hospital at 2:30.  She was responding when she first got there but I am hoping that meds are causing her to be confused and not talking.  It has affected her right side but this evening she was moving her right shoulder and wiggling her toes.  CT scan showed no bleeding.  Tomorrow morning they are to do a brain scan.  I will try to keep you posted.

Her two daughters from Ohio came and will be staying at Ivalou's house.

Etta Sue, I'm so sorry to read this.  :( I'll be praying for complete recovery for Iva Lou.

I'll be praying also Etta Sue.

I found out last night at church that a friend of mine woke up yesterday and her husband was unresponsive. He is in the hospital on a ventilator and they don't know what is wrong. Please keep them in your prayers.

I'll post also in prayer and praise.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  First of all Happy Birthday to Liz and Cowgirl.

Etta Sue, so sorry to hear of Ivalou's stroke but it sounds like she is coming out of it and hopefully the effects on her side will be minimal or go away completely.  I know this is a scary time for all the family.

Don, sorry to hear of your church friend's undefined illness and hope he responds to treatment.

Carol, the MRSA seems to be appearing all over.  Within our choir family we have had several persons who have relatives who have been successfully treated.

Pat hasn't been feeling very good yesterday and doesn't seem to be today.  She has cellulitus  in her foot that was operated on.  She is taking antibiotics.  I know several of you, including John and also Pat can well relate to this.

We have some really sad situations in the metro area with the flooding and many people have lost everything and many don't have flood insurance.  I heard this morning that there is one family with 10 children (2 of their own and 8 adopted) who lost their home but had purchased the flood insurance just 5 days before the flood.

Marilyn, thanks to you and everyone for the prayers for my family.  We did not hear from Stacey yesterday as she had her phone turned off.  Hopefully she will call us today.  She is still trying to recover from her recent bouts of illness plus dealing with the extreme pain in her foot.

If you have a minute I think you will enjoy the following (it isn't very long):

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COWGIRL!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LIZ!!!

Oh, Etta Sue, I am so sorry to hear that Iva Lou has had a stroke!  I pray they got her to the hospital and gave her that special med in time to prevent permanent damage.  I will be praying for her.

This afternoon I will be going to Hugoton to stay with Abby.  Then on Sunday I will be going to Fowler for my painting class.  :) :D ;D 8) YES!!!

But today.......more work getting ready for the auction.  The auctioneer is to be here this morning to catalogue the items and take some photos.  He is in for a big shock--he referred to it as "a little sale like this..."  ;)

Oh, how we need to be praying for our beloved country.  I agree with Carol--so many politicians need to be ousted!  And we have one who really thinks he is the smartest man in the world, even a messiah.......God, have mercy.

I pray for each of us here, may we stand strong, keeping our eyes on the only One who can keep us through these times.  I'm SO GLAD He is in control!

Larry, we were typing at the same time.  I will pray for Pat.  Cellulitis is not a good thing.  And I pray that Stacey will also be feeling better today.  God bless you, brother.

God bless your life, Liz, and may He enable you to see its effectiveness more each birthday!
And also Cowgirl - we are glad you are here, and this day marks your coming!

God grant us mercy and free us from the awful results of our foolishness in electing the wrong people to lead in our nation.

JudyB

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIZ!~~!!!

Oh Larry I know how difficult cellulitis is to treat first hand.   John and i are praying.

MRSA.  From what I have been told is in epidemic proportions in North America. Many people don't even know they have it.

John is at the Doctor today to get his release to go back to work.  Thank you everyone for praying.

Know that I am here--silently reading, giving up prayers to our Heavenly Father for your needs.

I am also "marveling" at the many talents here, gardening, canning, make use of the natural wonders our Lord provides..

The strength and hard work in gardening and then the patience in the canning.

Keep up the good works.  Everything sounds delicious; to bad I am to far away to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Well we have had our excitement for the month.  Kass looked out the Kitchen window and freeked because the across the road neighbour had black smoke pouring out of his yard.  Bear in mind his yard is 200 acres.  Instead of calling the fire dept we went down to see if Donny was ok and found him standing by watching an old broken down boat burn.  We figure along with the bottle he was drinking, he likely threw a cigarette butt into the boat (with a half full tank of gas) and it blew.  All was under control.  We started talking and he has offered us all the maple we want for winter burning and showed us where we could tap maple for syrup in the spring.  Interesting what happens when you show you care.

Liz

Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes.  The graphics are terrific.  Marilyn, that cat looks just like my Misty demanding her breakfast....

Happy Birthday Cowgirl!  Did you know we are almost the same age?  Except instead of a 1 in front of the 7, I have another 7.

My daughter and SIL got back from there holiday in Quebec yesterday, minus two of their suitcases.  WestJet has now found them and they should be here tomorrow.  Same thing happened on their last holiday.  That darn elf keeps tagging along on holidays, causing all kinds of trouble.  They loved Quebec, especially Montreal, found that in some places 98% of the people only spoke French.....so that proved interesting.

Judy B., you and John put a whole different spin on that old saying 'No Good Deed Goes Unpunished'.  Real Maple Syrup!  Yumm.

I liked that link Larry.  I am also praying for your family and all the others mentioned.  So sorry to hear about your sister, Etta Sue.

Like Carol, I find the news so depressing.  I follow things in the US very closely as our countries are so closely linked.  Agree with Al and Janet, same things apply in Canada.  What really scares me about this new world is that Illusion seems to have become the New Reality.

Amanda and 54 other people raised over one thousand dollars each for a Easter Seal  drive by the CHEK TV station and were rewarded (?) by the thrill of rapelling down the 13 story CIBC building in Victoria.  For a time I was worried about having to contact the kids and explain how their daughter came to be splattered all over a sidewalk in Victoria.  Thank goodness all ended well for all and a lot of money was raised for a good cause.

We are enjoying great weather here on the island and it is almost like summer again.  Think that may change any minute now as fall is very much in the air.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Etta Sue

I feel that Ivalou is much improved.  Almost as soon as a therapist told her she had had a stroke and that she needed to work to get better.  She spoke a few words today but isn't finishing sentences.  The moved her right arm and leg when therapists asked her to do so.  We were told if she keeps on improving she will be moved out of ICU to a private room.  From there she will either go to Transitional Care Unit or Rehab depending on her strength.  The physical therapists sat her on the side of the bed and then stood her up. They told her to raise her head and she stood straight up as straight as could be!  Praise God.

I am tired but I will try to keep you all informed.  Only 41 emails today.

Also two granddaughters from Ohio should be here now...Emily and Lauren who is having surgery the 29th.  Lauren just got home from Sarasota this evening but said she wanted to see Grandma before she had surgery herself.  Long day for her...Sarasota, Tampa, Atlanta, Dayton and then the car to Indy!

Thanks for the cares, concerns and prayers!

Carol

Etta Sue:  It sounds like Ivalou had someone right there to call for help immediately and that is so important in a stroke recovery.  Bless her heart, she hasn't been feeling well lately.  Prayers for you too as I know how close you are to your sister.  Hugs to you.

Larry:  I did not know that cellitus on the foot can be helped with surgery.  It does sound so painful.

JudyB:  If John has already experienced MRSA then it is wonderful that he did not contact it the 2nd. time because it can be worse with each episode, so I have heard.  I hope all is well with you and the family - enjoy those chicken dinners.

Don:  Prayers for your friend.

Liz:  I couldn't watch if they were coming down from heights.

Here, I have a cousin coming tomorrow for a visit and we don't know how long.  Today, I made a large crockpot of Lentil Soup and tomorrow, will bake blueberry muffins, a bacon quiche and anything else that comes to mind.  Also, Don's hearing is not improving at all and I do all the telephone duties - even answering.  I keep praying that his hearing distortion will improve even just enough so he can listen to music once again.  No light at the end of the tunnel yet!

JudyB

We have 3 people needing prayer for strokes....Don's friend, Ivalou and Fottobirder's wife.  Lets lift these people in prayer as well as their families.

Kass was just down unable to stop coughing.  Used an old remedy of Mother's.  ice in a washcloth wrapped around the throat and a woolie sock on top of that.  That was done 10 minutes ago, and the coughing has subsided.  Thanks Mom!

I am tired tonight, so heading to bed.
Night all

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Happy to say it is a sunny day here in Georgia.  This is now the third day without rain and it is giving people a chance to cleanup where there was flooding.  There are really some sad situations with people losing everything and no flood insurance.  Our county was not included in the disaster declaration from the President although there was a lot of flooding and damage.

I am happy to be able to report that Pat said she noticed her foot was better last night and again this morning so hopefully the antibiotic is doing its job as well as time healing the pain from the surgery.  Carol, the surgery wasn't for the cellulitis but for a benign tumor on the nerve in her foot.  The cellulitis was caused by the gauze dressing rubbing on the top of her foot during the 12 days after surgery before she took the bandage off.  We spoke with our daughter last evening and she is now down with a bad head cold.  She just seems to go from one thing to another.  I know her resistance must really be low.

Etta Sue, so glad to read of the positive news regarding Ivalou.  I personally know several people who made complete recovery from a stroke.  It took  some time and a lot of work on their part.

Janet, great to read that you are going to get a break for a couple of days.  Hope the auctioneer didn't faint when he saw the job ahead of him.
