JennyW: Hello Janet! I check every day. I wish everyone would get going again! I miss seeing pictures and reading posts! 2025-01-24, 06:54:04

Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol

My early morning dental appointment was cancelled because she had a high fever for the 2nd. day - I hope we can get together tomorrow as they booked me again.

Tea anyone?  Today is:  African Redbush Peach.  It is caffeine free & so good.

Our Rockies baseball team lost to the Phillies last night - it was a mighty stretch.  I am into sports a lot more and how do you escape when all the boys are interested in sports?  Do love close & clean games.

JudyB:  Walking is the easiest and best way to keep up exercise but I know it is tough to get in a habit because family duties intrude.  You have to care for yourself too so I hope you will remember how good it is for your heart and cholesterol count to get that heartbeat up.  I find that time just perfect for those long prayers (which are becoming longer and longer as I live).   :)

Janet

Carol, I would love a cup of that tea!  It's still chilly and very damp here in our corner of Kansas.

Larry, sorry you aren't feeling up to par, hope you feel lots better by tomorrow.  Also hope Stacey is doing better.

I went to help with Ladies' Tea at the care home.  Beth is being cranky and stubborn, which tells me she isn't feeling well.  And she is down because John hasn't been calling as often.

Gloria had a whole group of ladies outside her door, showing off her initials I did for her.  She told me they (the initials) might help her get over her problem.  I asked what problem and she said she had been wanting to move to Garden City, because she is bored with this place.  I asked her if she really wanted to leave family and friends and church and go live among strangers, and she said that's what Aunt Sharon told her.

I sure hope our Pat gets something figured out about internet access at the new house.  Being without would be awful, once we are used to keeping in touch this way.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KARMA!!!

And, happy birthday from me, too, Karma. I'm so glad y'all can come here to post more often.

Last comment about restless legs. When my bloodwork came back with a pretty good case of anemia, first question from the doctor was "do you have a problem with restless legs at night?" I answered that I do, and he commented that the iron will help with the anemia, and that when I'm anemic, I'm more likely to experience restless leg syndrome.

Now, since a take a very small dose of gabapentin for neuropathy, I don't stay awake to check whether my legs are restless or not!!
;D

Well, Larry, you sent the rains our way. We have 100% rain for tonight, and thus far, the forecasters are absolutely correct. :)

Y'all have a great evening. I think I'm gonna have a cuppa tea.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Ruth

The sky became very dark after lunch and then down came the rain and yes sleet/hail small stuff. That all cleared up and I went to the local Zellers and purchased a new blanket for our bed also some pretties for the shower curtain rod.

About the pumpkin pie it was good but we felt that it was too sweet so will not do that again, we enjoyed the plain pumpkin with whipped cream best.

We also had a lovely dinner at our daughters - turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, turnip, corn on the cob, cranberries, buns, pumpkin pie and if something was missed please forgive me.

I did not sleep very well last night it must have been a sign that things were not to happy - yes we did get a call this morning.

Time to go, Dancing with the Stars is coming on .      Ruth

Ruth how is your brother.

This has been a cool day.  Not really rainy but definitely damp and trying to rain.  It has also been windy.  All the beautiful trees of Saturday are now gone.  Just some poplar left on the trees.

Rough night last night again, I lay down and start to think and there goes any idea of sleep.  So I got up, and did some work that i had been putting off doing.  The girls noticed right away.

I hope to sleep early tonight.  Need to grab the book kass has read and let reading put me to sleep.

Night all

Al Moak

This is specially in answer to Gord and Carol.  Thanks so much for your interest in my leg problems.  I'm still mostly using the recliner, but I've set out on a program to get back to using the bed.  I go (some nights) to bed early and stay as long as possible.  In this way I'm getting used to using the bed again.  It's getting gradually better and better, so I'm hoping that I'll soon be able to use the bed exclusively.  Please pray.

JudyB

Al I am praying.   I have been praying.

Gord Brown

 :)Hi to all.

Al:   Thanks for your reply I havebeen wondering how things were going with your health.  I am glad to here that you are able to use your bed once in a while.  I will remember you in prayer and do be  encouraged that in the Lords time things will get better. <3

To all others on C.P. I  have read all your posts and thank you for them.

Etta Sue:  Thanks for the beautiful picture your sister looks like you.

Karma.    HAPPY BITHDAY :hb3: :hb2:

Well I must get to sleep.

Larry:  Please do look after yourself and hope that things go well for your daughter. <3

God Bless to all Gord. <3 :cp:

Janet

Good morning!  I hear rain still dripping, dripping..  But I shouldn't complain; after all, Larry and Ruth Ann are getting drenched!  Well, their areas are, anyway.  God is in control!

I don't know what today has in store.  But do we ever, really?

Right, Janet.  We never know what the day will hold - but we do know Who holds the day!   ;)

At 6:30 this morning my outdoor thermometer registered...  are you ready for this?  20 degrees farenheit!

I always smile when I am told that Ivalou and I look alike.  Ivalou and Kaye Don took after Mom....I took after Dad.  Ivalou, Kaye Don and Mom were 'no doubt about it' red heads.  Dad and I were dark headed...almost black.  But I do agree, the older I get the more I look like Mom so perhaps Ivalou and I do look alike.

This morning is family meeting at rehab.  So I am off in a few minutes.

Kitty and I plan to go swimming this afternoon.

Al Moak

I don't see Larry this morning - hope he's ok.  Lotsa rain here yesterday and probably today.  Not cold, though.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone and Al thanks for your concern.  My computer needed to be rebooted this morning so didn't have time to post before leaving for coffee.  I felt fine when I got up this morning but not so great now.  I am concerned because we are planning on leaving next week for a couple of weeks and if I am not feeling better by then I guess we will have to postpone it as don't want to strike out feeling like this.  However, we will cross that bridge when we get there.

I think we have escaped the bullet on the heavy rain that was predicted for last night and today.  It has gone south of us and now they are saying only another quarter inch today and hopefully we will have a window with no rain early tomorrow morning.  We have to get our daughter to Grady by 7 pm as she is scheduled to have the epidural at 7:30.  We will have to use the transport chair for her and I am afraid that Pat is going to have to push it.  However, I know that the Lord will provide for us as he always does so won't worry about that today and then deal with what tomorrow brings tomorrow.

Al, glad to read that you are being able to get some rest in bed.  Hope the improvement continues.

JudyB

I am making a Dominican dish for Kassie for a school project...It doesn't matter who makes it it is just an add on to her presentation.

We have cool weather, but no snow yet.  That is still a 4 letter word here in this house.

Tonight is gound school, Kass is going and she has a test tonight.

Got to run
JudyB

Janet

A four letter word, Judy?  Hmmm.....would that be COLD? ;)  And what kind of dish would Dominican be?

Today was wear pink day at our senior center, in honor of breast cancer awareness month.  When the nurse was talking about it, and introducing her program on food safety, she left out the word 'cancer.'  That got a chuckle.  :)

It does look as if it may clear off by tomorrow, and we are really hoping it does!  We are down to the wire now!!

Larry, sorry you are feeling kind of bum, hope you are bright as a new penny tomorrow.

Nothing much of note happening here.
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

JudyB

No Janet it is the white stuff!  Also the dish was like a biscuit....made from cornmeal and egg and milk.  It was rather bland, not something I would try again.

Elizabeth has to look up an Italian recipe tonight for school.  As I remember I never had to do anything like this for english.

At Heather's tonight, their schedules conflict.

Bye for now

Carol

Al:  Sounds like a good plan to me - easing into the bed slowly, I mean.  You and Marbeth are in my prayers.
Are you still preaching? I have not seen anything from you about preaching in a while.

I did make it to women's bible study this morning.  Did not feel well last night after a neighbor gave me ice cream and a sweet baked roll at 9 PM - my fragile stomach did not do well.  I was just sitting up for hours before bedtime.  Then, decided to take a shower this morning and that revived me enough to drive through a thick fog to hear the message.  It was worth it, of course and part of the discussion was on predestination - I really am interested in it but no one else seemed to want to talk about it.  Predestination, that is!  From there, on to the dentist and she can only find things that need to be fixed.  All much too pricey.

Back in time to go to the neighborhood stitching group & we spent an extra hour at friend's house because she is southern & so hospitable.   :)

Janet:  I am sorry that Beth is under stress and not feeling well.

Marilyn:  Thanks for the email on that interesting woman.

Al Moak

Carol - will be preaching again on the 25th on Matt. 6:19-21, with heavy cross reference to Prov. 2:1-6.  All about seeking the right treasure.

Re/predestination.  If God didn't destine each of His people to the Kingdom, how would they get there?  They are, after all "dead in trespasses and sin."  So they're unable to desire the Kingdom on their own.

Ruth

Judy:  Italian---------pasta and a bottle of wine

It had been a lovely day all day and now the evening has set in and I expect that we are to have frost.

I went out this afternoon and took several pictures of an old bridge not to far away, I love bridges and the sound of running water - very peaceful.
I forget how to download pictures but will concentrate on that at a later date.

I understand that the sewer construction leading to the new subdivision is  complete except for the road being paved that will be good because then  I will  be able to clean windows.

Have a great evening.   Ruth

Gord Brown

 :)  Good evening to all.

Larry: I am Glad to here that the rain has stopped it must be terrible to be where you can get Major flooding.  I do hope that you and Pat will please take it easy as you do not sound very good. Do you have to go to your daughters to help her or is there someone else that could do that for you. Again listen to your body and we will be remembering you in prayer.

Al:  Did what I talked to you about on the email work for you?

Tomorrow is food bank day at the mission and it so sad to see so many young couples coming in.  Also the program that we have been praying about called Redeemed Lives which is to help men who have gone to the dryout clinics and also hopefully dedicated their lives to Christ we have one young man who has come in. We are into the second full week and this Friday afternoon I will be his afternoon supervisor so please pray that the Lord will give me the proper words to say and to also listen to what he wants to talk about.  Praise God for this op pertunity <3

Paul and Pat:  How are you both doing.  Hope all is well are you still in the States?  God bless sis.

To all others God richly bless you. :cp: <3

Ruth a recipe....and fake wine.

I have put a prayer request in the Prayer and Praise.  There is a 9 year old who has had a stroke.  Am I nutz ?  Are strokes on the rise?

Kass has her headaches back.  I am still waiting for a referral to a specialist.

Heading to bed soon.  Night all

I love these some of these chuckles I get.  Al will probably really appreciate this one.  ;)

Parking Solution

A pastor of a two-church parish had to drive every Sunday morning about 4 miles from the 9:30 service at one church to the 11 o'clock at the other. He would often find the parking lot of the second church full, and be forced to park down the road and race to the church on foot.

The problem was finally solved when he selected a parking spot near the side door of the church and posted a sign that read, "You Park - You Preach."

*Thanks to Pastor Tim for this joke!*

Thanks for that one, Jeanne.  I copied it out and will take it to the pastor of our church here, too.

Ivalou got straight A's again in the conference meeting.  She has at least two more weeks in rehab.  They are saying that she probably won't be walking without assistance when coming home so one of the therapists is to meet me Saturday to access Ivalou's home for a ramp and such.  Ivalou's son, Jeff, is a carpenter so he wants to be here also.

Kitty and I went swimming after I went to the hospital.  I swam 26 laps this time.  It is getting much easier.  We are trying to swim for an hour.  I also walked 4 laps which is hard to do when I get in the deeper end...tippy toes!  Just wish I could learn to put my head in the water...I used to use nose clips but can't find any anywhere!

Today is the hospital, WalMart and then Bible Study this evening.

I have been here reading several times per day I just haven't had anything to say. Today is exercise  and walking the dogs like I do every day rain or shine. We walked in the rain on Tuesday and I dried them off when we got into the house. I have had to  put Grubby in the garage and dry him off too. He just gets in his little bed and goes to sleep, As you know cats don't like to be wet. He is coming in the house now and then  but always head straight for the slider to the deck so go back outside. We are trying to get him used to being in the house. He still need to be neutered and have some shots.

Al:  Thank you - I will check out the passages you are using in the sermon.  Also, I have believed in predestination to a large degree and then free will has something to do with how we live our lives too.

I finished making a 2nd prayer shawl and it washed so nice and soft.  This has been so easy to keep around and somebody really can use this comfort.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We arose around 4:30 this morning and were on the road to Atlanta at 5:30 and picked up our daughter and took her to Grady Hospital.  I parked in the parking garage and stayed in the car.  Pat had put the transport chair in the car and she got it out and then wheeled Stacey to her appointment.  Unfortunately, my cell phone would not work in the garage so was left pretty much in the dark.

It began to get chillier and chillier as the morning progressed.  Around eleven I decided to go to the main entrance of the hospital to see if my phone would work there and also take some jackets for them both, as neither had taken a jacket into the hospital.  Just as I was getting ready to call here they came.  Stacey got along fine with the epidural shot she had in her back and we took her back to her apartment and then came on home.  We stopped at the new cafe for lunch so Pat won't have to worry about supper tonight.  She has been sleeping all afternoon and I also had a long nap as we were both tired from the short night.  Fortunately it wasn't raining this morning, just a fine mist in the air.

Nothing else planned for today other than to take it easy.  I did call my doctor's office to see if he could perhaps increase or change some of my heart medicine.  I didn't have a very good day yesterday but happy to say today has been better.  We don't want to cancel our trip next week but if I am not feeling better probably will.

JudyB

Larry I am praying that the doctor finds the right combination of drugs for you so that you start to feel better.  I have been praying for your daughter as well.  Good that you had a rest this afternoon.

Etta Sue would a walker be what Ivalou could use to help her walk?  Mother has one and it has done wonders for her mobility.

Ruth

Good Evening:
The errands for the day started by going south to a Zellers Store to return a blanket I had purchased, the fabric just did not fold around you while sleeping, on my way down I stopped at the Brick furniture store looked but did not purchase then on my way home from Zellers I stopped at a grocery store then continued on up the road and before going home I up the mail
then got Tim's coffee for the both of us.

Larry: I trust that you will be able to go on your vacation. We all need a rest from time to time.

Ruth

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  The sun is out this morning, which is a welcome change from the last few rainy and cloudy days.  I do seem to be feeling a lot better today so think maybe I had one of the events I have had before where I just do not feel good for several days and then it seems to pass.

We only had five men show up at coffee at the senior center this morning.  I think this is the least I can remember that we have ever had.  One of the men called the house and asked Pat why I wasn't at McDonald's this morning.  He had forgotten it was Friday.  He had e-mailed me last night saying he didn't think he would be at coffee today so wasn't expecting him.

I have a light schedule today and looking forward to it.  I do need to get a new pair of shoes but just haven't been up to shopping the last few days.  We might do that later today.

Hope everyone has a good day.
