JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Good late evening...Sometimes this time of day or night I get a 2nd wind as everyone winds down and goes to bed. Im able to think clearly on thoughts sometimes really groggy and at times falling asleep-but its time for self and thoughts-I can honestly say its completely selfless because you must get renewed to help face the daily life, if not-you are crabby and don't do any one much good when your crabby!!! My goal is to rejoice in the day which the Lord Hath made and be glad in it...

Pat a lovely devotion-sounds like someone else who had made intercessory prayer, Jesus, on our behalf...who ask Him to forgive us!!! So it should be with each other, too! Thank you for the reminder...

I pray for your son n dil Geoff...

Isn't it nice to have the holidays nearly done and everything getting back to normal for everybody...

I didn't get all riled up with the Christmas season-I think it helped lots by not watching tv...

Glad you all are tucked in and back home and pray for all the aches n pains, to disappear, be assured God knows-listens to your prayers-ask & receive, and know that you are healed by Christ stripes. God is Love-If God Be For You Who Can Be Against You?

Blessings to all!!!
God's Word is truth, You can trust and believe what he says more than any human word!!!--"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;I will be with him in trouble,I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."

Achievements & Blessings...

I have prayed for Darren and Nat and Darrel.  So much going on in this world.  So much sorrow and pain.

I am missing my sister!  I will be glad when she comes home Friday.  I have enjoyed the alone time but it is wearing thin now.

I got my mail yesterday and there were three ads about mattress sales now thru Jan 5th.  So I called Tony and I am to be at his house tomorrow morning at 10am.  We are going to those three places, probably eat out somewhere and may go back to one of the three to purchase a mattress for me.  Then Kitty has said I could go with her and Bob tomorrow evening for New Year's.  Just to eat...not to celebrate like I did many years ago!  Too old and too wise for that now!

I watched home videos yesterday.  So much fun seeing Bud, Charles (BIL) and Mom and hearing their voices.  My new DVD/VCR was a good purchase.  (last summer)

Today is a mammogram for Kitty, something that Bob doesn't like to participate in.  So I am going with Kitty and then to swim.  There are predictions of snow this afternoon but only an inch by midnight tonight.  We can handle that!

It is cloudy today and the last I looked, only 24 degrees with a high of 34 today!  BBBrrrrr!!!

Thanks for the prayers for Darrel.  He is feeling some better, doesn't seem to be running a fever this morning, and can void much better now.  But you can bet he will be seeing another doctor!

I have most of my Christmas things taken down, just need to put away the two little trees and clean up the wrapping mess that is in my studio.  Keeping it back there kept it out of the way and out of sight, and I could go in there and wrap something at a minute's notice.

Juanita, I'm sure you are better off not watching TV.  But on the other hand, there are many choices on TV now, and we are responsible for the ones we make.  I get really tired of the TV going so much, as my husband watches a lot of Westerns and cop stuff.  Ugh.  I watch Christian TV and HGTV.

I don't yet have other plans for the day.  I'm sure something will claim my time.  I'm not feeling up to par, but hoping this will pass.

Etta Sue I came back to answer the question you asked me yesterday about the Tempur-pedic mattress.  No, I don't think it is hot.  But they do offer a free 30 (or was it 90?) day trial before purchase.  So if you wanted to, you could try it out before shelling out the $$$.  Good luck finding the perfect mattress for YOU.  It is SO important to have good support while you are sleeping, as it affects your overall health.

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee and then helping my wife, just a little bit, put away the Christmas decorations.  I think everything is put away now and she is replacing the items that had to be moved for the Christmas decorations.

We did attend the funeral yesterday and there was a very large crowd.  After the service of celebration of this man's life, everyone was invited to a lite luncheon.

About 4 pm a friend called to see if we could come over and help them eat up some of their remaining Christmas goodies.  They had invited several others but only one other couple of free.  Since they live close by I called them and we picked them up.  We had a nice couple of hours visit, enjoyed some goodies and were home by 8 pm.

Today is a free day for me, as far as I know now, as have no commitments.  I will just work on several computer projects.

Etta Sue, good luck on your mattress buying.  My brother-in-law had one of the tempermatic mattresses when we visited but was returning it for another as he found he didn't like it.  I slept on it one night and my back hurt the next morning so moved to a different bed.  Pat slept on it while we were there but found she had great difficulty moving around or turning over on it.  So we will definitely not got that route when we replace our mattresses.  Obviously a lot of people do like them.

Janet, glad to read the Darrell is feeling better.  I have taken cipro several times and is does work.  Hope you feel better today also.

Geoff, I know from personal experience that is it hard to watch our children go through domestic turmoil and then end in divorce.  However, about all we can do is pray for them and stay out of their business and decision-making.

Juanita, you sound like my wife in staying up late.  She usually can't sleep more than 6 hours and sometimes gets a "second wind" late at night.

Jane, I know several people who have seen "The Blindside" and say it is a very good movie.

Hi to all,

Hope everyone's holiday was Blessed and Joyful.

If we keep the focus on the little one in the manger; we would all have a joyful Christmas season and be so blessed.

Etta, how can I get the footprints that are on your post.
If you have time, please let me know.

I want to put on my website.

THanks and to all a very Blessed and Peaceful New Year.

joyce robson

Just watched the newscast/video on the Christmas miracle of the lady who died in childbirth and then the baby died after being born.

WHat a wonderful  Heavenly Father we have who bought them both back to live for all the world to witness.

A true Christmas miracle, Praise the Lord.

Well John has left, on his way to MN. The battery on the truck went dead, so the trip was delayed while he charged it.  Frustrating thing is he had the truck running Sunday to prevent this!  Such is the life of a truck driver.  I pray the weather stays clear for him.

Have a great day folks!

Jeanne Lee

Joyce, I was watching that, too.  Our God is an awesome God!

Judy, I'll be praying for travel mercies for John.

That's a beautiful New Year's card, Marilyn!

I didn't get much done this afternoon.  I felt so bad I just lay in my recliner and slept.  Hope this lethargic feeling goes away soon.

Nice to see you, Joyce.  Happy New Year to you.

That was a nice invitation,  Larry, to help eat the leftover Christmas goodies.  And a good way for them to use them up, as well.

Judy, better to have the battery die at home than out on the road!  Hope John has a good trip.

I hope we have more people join us here in 2010.  The posts are getting fewer an d fewer!

The girls and I are having a lazy evening.  Good movie and good company.....All we need.

Big trucks have 4 batteries.  They only die if the trucks are shut down in cold weather too long.  Even if the truck is plugged in, it van still have the batteries die.  Apparently there were a lot that wouldn't start today, thankfully we have a good battery booster and didn't need to call service out.  Easier for us and the company.

I won't be on again tonight, may God richly bless each of you.

Marilyn

Thank you Janet, I have  created a lot of stuff in PSP this year.

Hi, friends, it's late (or early, as the case may be). My son is here from England, and we've been working on numbers in an Excel spreadsheet. Thank goodness I learned to work in Excel and learned many nice tricks to use to straighten up data, etc. We got lots done tonight.

Happy New Year to everyone, and I trust our Lord will be with each of us every step of the way.

Pat, that's a wonderful devotional. I would like to keep those thoughts in mind.

Marilyn, how wonderful to be able to reconnect!

Love to everyone.

Happy New Year everyone.  This year has really whizzed past and it is hard to realize that today is the last day of the year.

I had a nice quiet day yesterday and expect the same today.  Pat has a funeral of a friend's sister to attend this afternoon.  We had rain all night and again this morning but it is suppose to stop by noon and a little later turn a lot colder.

Marilyn, those are very nice cards.  Jeanne, I liked yours as well.

Judy, I guess you have to be very flexible when you are a truck driver.  We see lots of trucks on the Interstates around Atlanta and Iam  thankful for them when I remember they are the ones who gets the food and other goods distributed that allow us to enjoy the life we do.

Ruth Ann, nice that you can be with your son.  Will he be moving back from England anytime soon?

Janet, it sounds like you just needed a day of rest and relaxation and recovery.  Hope you feel better today.  Treat yourself and take another day off.

Joyce, that was a wonderful story of the mother and new baby.  Certainly sounds like a miracle.

Etta Sue

Can't stay long.  Tony just drove in the drive to take me to look at mattresses.  It snowed last night so he came here instead of me driving.  That is good.

Joyce, go back to the Footprints animation.  Then put your cursor over the animation and right click...choose Save As and then remember where you saved it.  Then it is on your computer and you can upload it to your website.  Easy!

Off we go to try out mattresses.

Janet

Thanks for the nice cards, Marilyn and Jeanne.  And happy last-day-of-the-year to all of you!

Larry, I believe I will take your advice and take today off--and tomorrow, too!  ;)  Other than the usual household stuff, there isn't really anything pressing me.  Darrel is still feeling bad, having terrible night sweats, which necessitates changing the bed daily.  He soaked through two big bath towels and the sheets last night.  He has decided he may be allergic to the Cipro.

Welcome home, Ruth Ann!  We love you!

I want to watch the 700 Club--be back later!

Because He Lives
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by William J. Gaither
copyright 1971

"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where the Lord lay."
Matthew 28:6

God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He Lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

And then one day, I'll cross the river,
I'll fight life's final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry,
I'll see the lights of glory and I'll know He lives!

Chorus
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!

Etta,Thank you for the footprints animation. I will try it later. Take some time off and rest , you really are a busy bee...

Jeanne, I love that song...Thanks for sharing

Janet, the 700 club should definately get you out of your "quiet mood"...It's good to be peaceful and quiet at times like that, we can hear our Heavenly Father more clearer.. Do feel better.

I, too, hope we have more posters and I can post more..But the ones here who are faithfully posting do keep the forum alive and well.

Love hearing the stories and adventures of others.

As for my little part of the world, Jersey is having snow--I will be going over to my mom and aunt's house for an early New Year's Eve dinner.  I was taking them out to buffet but they said NO, because of weather and my 90 year old aunt said "her hair doesn't look good to go to restaurant...My mom wants pizza so in about 2-3 hrs.  I will call them and ask again what they want me to bring over.

It will be an early night--they don't usually stay awake longer than 9- 9:30
because they're up around 4:30-5 AM

Then tomorrow I will head to Pennsylvania where they are having a whole lot more snow...Will stay there till Monday afternoon, back to Jersey and work.

Can't complain about work 'cause I do think it keeps me alert to be working with customers,(different ones and different views) on a daily basis, learning more about my trade in my golden years. I think I am what they call , a late bloomer...

Told my hubby wake up this morning and he said its snowing , why get up..I said 'cause the good Lord made you to spread his word and how can we be of any use to Him laying in bed..

He went out and shoveled. He helped the neighbor, too, so I said see you are already spreading HIS love to others by helping them.

Do you think he still enjoyed shoveling????  Didn't look it but I was glad that it was a light snow.

Judy, my prayers to your hubby on the road, we see so many truckers in our travels.  We travel at least l000 miles every three weeks and its good to know that the truckers are out there...I always feel a little safer knowing knowledgeable drivers are on the road with me.

To all of you , please have a healthy, safe New Year.

Sarah

hello everyone
as of right now i really have no new news to report... they tried to induce labor on tuesday and wednesday so we can get this baby here and she would not have it.... just made me uncomfortable and in pain for 2 days and then they decided to let me go home and rest and they will try again on monday if she doesn't decide to come sooner:) hopefully she will just decide to come out on her own this weekend :) so anyways i'm now absolutely exhausted and will probably spend most of the day sleeping:( hopefully i can get up and get around and go spend the evening with my dad's family for our christmas get together i really wanted the baby to be here for that but it won't be this year.... anyways i hope ya'll have a good last day of the year and have a wonderful start to your new year! DON'T FORGET TO  EAT YOUR BLACKEYED PEAS :)

Man!!!  I had a long ol' post here and it just flitted off into cyber space ...

I guess I was posting it when Sarah got here ahead of me.

Sarah, I know you must be exhausted -- as well as eager to have this baby in your arms rather than where she is now!  Just know that she will arrive in good time and you will be over joyed to welcome her.  I'll pray for you, that you will be able to rest in the meantime ... (won't be much opportunity for that later, y'know).

I was saying that I, too, am very grateful for the truckers out there on the highways.  Twice, this year, a trucker has helped me when in distress.

In January, when I had a tire blow-out on my Neon, a trucker stopped, called AAA and stayed with me until they arrived.

In May, when I totalled my Corolla, a trucker stopped, called CHP and helped me call my daughter, and stayed with me to give his witness report.  He was very upset that a truck that was closer to me had not stopped or even called in the accident.

I also want to say Thank You to Marilyn, Pat (and Paul) and Jeanne for the cards and music you bring us.  And to  Etta Sue for the daily graphics and animations.  I love them all but fail to let y'all know how much they mean to someone like me.  :-[

It is stormy here on the coast today and I didn't get up until 8 o'clock this morning.  This is good sleeping weather.  I will probably be up past midnight so this makes up for it.  Of course I'm usually up past midnight so, maybe, there's nothing unusual after all.  Oh, well, I don't have anyone to answer to nor any particular agenda .... guess I can do things in my own time. Whatever needs to get done will be done -- sometime!   :D
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Carol

Sarah:  Babies arrive when they are good and ready!  Get some rest as you will need strength.  My prayers for you and this new child of God!

We drove to Grand Lake yesterday and it was a tough drive mainly because all the trucks were having a difficult climb in the mountains.  There is not enough snow but enough for the roads to be icy.  We are at the library and I found some travel books to check out. Otherwise, I need to start Wild Rice Soup with chicken, a Ramen Noodle type salad and an enhanced corn bread that has cream corn and regular corn in it.  I don't even know what the others are bringing.  One upstairs water pipe was frozen as that happened last time as well - it is a difficult spot to work on the problem.

It was minus 18 degrees F. this morning but the cabin is otherwise tight and warm.  We saw someone had an ice house out on the lake and only last week there was some open water.

Best of health to everyone and I hope you all have a safe and long weekend.

Carol

Hi Jane!  We are posting nearly the same time!  Storms in your area?  I hope you keep your electricity.  Happy NewYear to you!

Marilyn

Yep like Jane said it is stormy here on the Oregon coast. My poor little Grubby kitty is outside and I hope he has found a place to hide to be out of the rain.

Keith is home early today and on his computer beside me looking at rains on eBay. The two dogs and the other cat are all in here with us.

Thank you  for the comments on my  New Years cards. I do love to let the creative juices flow when doing my PSP work.

HI everyone.  The new year has arrived.  I managed to stay up until about eleven last evening and then decided I could bring in the new year in a horizontal position as well as a vertical one and went to bed.  I listened to music and read for a little while.

The men are meeting this morning at the Senior Center.  I expect there will be a small group there today.  I have the rest of the day free so will be working on web work for the upcoming Senior Games and watching football again today.
