Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Al praying for you. That is pretty quick for the surgery, they must be pretty far along in growth.

Janet Curly and my natural color would be great.

So many concerns of my friends.  Just know I am praying for each of you for concerns and praises.

Swimming was tiring yesterday but a good tiring.  When you get to the parking lot, you have to walk so far to the locker room and then walk half way back to swim.  Every muscle in my body ached.  Once I got in the cool pool and swam one link, I felt better.  At first I didn't think I would swim my 36 links but I did and in record time!

We stopped at Wendy's for a bite to eat and then I took Kitty home.  She had a funeral visitation in the evening.

I stopped at my little grocery in Lapel and asked if they could have 2.5 lbs of ham salad for me to pick up Monday afternoon!  They informed me that they couldn't!  What?  2.5 lbs.  Not 205 lbs!!!!  So I will have to go somewhere else and get it.  I was going to make it myself but it would cost me more to make it than purchase it already prepared.

Then I stopped at Dollar General and got my paper items, a sweet snack and a salty snack.  We have snacks at the table while playing Euchre.

Today is laundry, mopping the floors and dusting.  I don't know why I put myself in a cleaning frenzy for Euchre.  I guess so I know I got it done good in 2011!!

Today is rain and more rain.

Soon we will be leaving for my cousins memorial service visitation for 2 hrs before then the service at 1:00 by the time we get back home the day will be over.

Al, I pray your cataract surgery will go well and with absolutely NO complications!  Mine did.  It is routine for those doctors now, but as I heard once, NO surgery is minor if it is on YOUR body!  Also, I have been wanting to ask you--what subject matter did you write on in your books?  How many have you written?

Darrel is pacing the floor, waiting on me to get off here so we can leave for Salina, so I think I'd better GO!

Nothing much new here today, it is raining and the weather guessers are saying it is going to be raining during our vacation, with temps in the 60's during the day and 30° at night. Yippee it is going to  mess up our vacation.

We are getting our things ready to go and we still have a few more groceries to get before we leave.   Keith still has to put his bicycle in the Corvette before we put in anything else.

All this news to catch up on this day.

Janet:  Congrats - can't wait to read the finished product or listen to on audio book.

Jane:  Praying for tender care for your daughter and her baby.  May they experience loving care.

Al:  Prayers for your successful cataract surgery.  You will be happy with the outcome.  I had to have a little laser work after one eye and there is no sensation during the surgery or even on that touch-up.

Ruth Ann:  Here is a Snickerdoodle cookie, sorry, no scone today.

Computer glitch today is:  The Notepad notes on Yahoo have disappeared.  Ugh This is important stuff.  Ugh again.  I spent a lot of time mending a quilt, for one of the children, which I made quite a few years ago and can truthfully write that mending is not as fun as sewing a quilt.  Talk about heavy.  I will wash the quilt on a warmer day as it is about to snow here.  It is actually warmer in the mountains than at our house.

Al Moak

Thanks for y'all's concern about my cataracts.  I've read up on it online (google), and it sounds like it's pretty routine.  I don't know yet when it'll be, as I have one more appointment, this time with the opthomologist before the date is set.  The Dr. who found it was just our optometrist.  They say it's age related.  Well, I've got plenty of that, so I guess I can't complain.

Ruth Ann Bice

At the time I had my cataract surgeries, I was literally "scared to death" as we here in the South often say. I was doing quite a bit of graphic art, and was SO frightened I'd lose my livelihood. Instead of that, God gave me back my sight! I loved the changes in the colors. And, of course, everyone looked so much healthier! :) They even had pink in their cheeks!

After each surgery those who took me and I went out to eat, then I rested and used the eyedrops as told. My eye doctor sent me home with a little vase of flowers. And, with the first surgery, my friend who asked me to recover at her home had 2 cats, who promptly ate up my flowers.  :D

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

This has been a busy day.  Housework is done, laundry  (at least ours) is done, and John's meals are done.  Kassie's BF is coming over tomorrow and lunch is in the freezer.  All in all a productive day.

I had a post ready earlier and poof to cyberspace it went.  I will try to recap what all it said.

Al Yu will be fine with the Catarac surgery.  AND you will be able to see again!

Janet Way to go on your book.  I have several chapters of a book written for children but became discouraged and quit.....maybe I beed to restart writing!

Carol computer probs are the pits.

Ruth Rain rain and more rain seems to be the norm here as well...feels like we are in England!  Problem is we are expecting a dry hot summer.

Larry take it wasy, don't overdo.

Ruth Ann the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is about 2 weeks.  Hair grows and covers all.

Marilyn don't borrow trouble.  As to loosing your hair, many people don't loose any hair.  Read and memorize Phil. 4:8-9 That is one of my favourite passages.

If I have forgotten anyone, I am sorry, have a good day and a blessed night.

Al Moak

To answer Janet's question: I have a commentary on Revelation called "Comfort from Revelatio,"  I have another commentary on the Gospel of Mark, and another one on Romans.  Then I also have one on Psalms.  All are written with a view to simplicity and easy understanding.  Most of them can be found here on CP under Manna for the Soul.  I had the one on Psalms actually read by the publisher, but they didn't take it on even then.

Etta Sue

Marilyn~I like that.  'Weather guessers'.  Hope you don't mind if I borrow it some!

I am all ready for church after a great night's rest.  I was tired.  But the house is getting shinier with each project marked off the list!  Glad I don't have to prepare the whole meal Tuesday evening.  It sure helps for all to help you.

Today is church, Sunday School, eating out, a baby shower and Small Groups!  One right after another!  Busy day!

Larry Hanna

Good morning everyone.  I don't know whether we are going to see the sun today or not.  I have eaten by breakfast an am ready for church but it will be a couple of hours before we leave.  The choir will be in the choir loft but our director is singing a solo this morning in place of the choir anthem.

I had a very quiet day yesterday.  I decided I was just tired of being on the go and so after coffee, which is no effort, I stayed home the rest of the day and really enjoyed a quiet day. I cleared a couple of things at my desk, read a bit, did a few other things.  Pat did go out and get a pair of shoes.

I forgot that at lunch time, when she came back from shopping, we went up to a new bakery cafe that opened two weeks ago here in our little town.  They have just three different sandwiches but a large number of cookies, cakes and other pastries that they make in the bakery.  We had a sandwich and will know to split one the next time as they were large, a bag of chips and for a reduced price you can add a cookie to your meal, which I had to do.  It was a coconut macaroon with a chocolate base and drizzles over the top of it.  It was a very large cookie and I had to bring most of it home and nibble on it all day long.  It was very rich.  I would call this a gourmet bakery and it is not inexpensive but we felt it was worth the money.  I do hope they can make a go of it as it is something we don't have in this area.

Judy, sounds like you have planned ahead so won't be rushed today.

Ruth Ann, I think dealing with the eye drops several times a day was the most bothersome for Pat.  The surgery has certainly restored her vision.

Al, our eye doctor told me the last time that my cataracts were just starting but that everyone develops them if they live long enough.  I know that Pat had no pain with her surgery and after the first one was done we stopped and had breakfast on the way home as the surgery center was an hour away from the house.  We had spent the night in a nearby motel to the surgery center as she had to be there at 6 am.

Carol, my wife mended a quilt for our step grandson's wife and said that never again would she tackle such a problem.  It was a very old and worn out quilt but had sentimental value to the family.

Marilyn, maybe you will get a few days with sun during your vacation.  It sounds like you are about ready to leave.

Ruth, I am sure the visitation and service made for a very long day for you all.

Etta Sue, I would imagine the little market gets the ham salad already prepared from a supplier and they wouldn't have time to order the extra that you wanted and have it in time.  I remember growing up that my mother would grind up bologna and add some Miracle Whip and perhaps some cheese and make a spread for sandwiches, which I think was my favorite as a child.  I hadn't thought of that i years.  Thanks for the memory stimulator.  :)  Be sure and leave a little dust somewhere so your friends will feel at home.  I would imagine they all go through the same exercise before they entertain.

Ruth

Instead of saying snow and more snow or cold & colder it is now rain and more rain and yes not sun.

The funeral service was that of celebration of life, and Pastor spoke on Psalm 23.   A very wonderful first cousin went home to be with  her Lord & Saviour.

Then following the service we visited a fishing store that our nephew has just bought he does not have much stock but it will be nice when done.

Time to move on

Ruth:  I always admire a celebration of life service.

Feeling down - our SIL has had a very stressful job for 1 1/2 years with terrible people who even call every day of the week - even on Easter.  He wants out so badly but there is nothing in his line with the malaise (is that right?) Poor Feelings of the economy until now & this would be moving a long ways away.  We have done it but it makes me feel so bad right now - praying for the entire year & half & nothing is changing for the better of the family.

Oh, well.  It is what it is - my motto these days.

Great lesson in today's service and we do love the pastor's sermons.  He told us about when this church was planning to build and all of the hateful anti-christian messages they received.  Isn't that a shame?  In a Denver suburb.  Now, the place is huge.  Today was supposed to be community service day and we had not signed on but---it was snowing a bit when we were there & just too cold for the outdoor cleanups they planned.  1500 people just to clean six schools so they will probably go next week - unless they braved the weather.  We sat in the balcony and the music was more subdued so Don says it was better for him.

Yesterday, three police vehicles were parked up the street - it seems to be a domestic problem.  What?  They are older than us --- she changed the keys & locked him out.  Something - I don't even want to know what happened.  How sad for them.

Larry:  Now, I am taking an entire quilt top apart that consists of 2 1/2 X 6 1/2 rectangles - king size.  The bottom somehow became crooked and it has to be resewed entirely.  Uff da as the Swedes say.  This will take a week at least - boring.

Tomorrow is V day we will be headed out around 11am, check in time is 4pm it takes 4 hours to get to Sunriver but we need to stop at  one of the stores on the way to get a steak just in case the weather permits BBQ'ing. Supposed to be snow and rain showers there tomorrow. and thunder storms for the following two days.

Judy I have memorized that  many years ago and I use it frequently in my prayers.
