JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Well, Ivalou isn't home yet!  Rumors will fly if those three ladies come to church with the going-to-a-wedding clothes!!   :roflBig:  I imagine Marge didn't want to leave the reception so they booked the motel for another night.

I am reading 'The Help' on Nook/Droid!  Love it!  It is sooo good.

Kitty got a new Smartphone and she doesn't like it.  She asked me to go to the Verizon store to exchange it.  They kind of talked her out of it.  What her complaints were I felt could be changed in Settings and the phone tech did.  Now she likes it.  And now we are both on Latitude so we can see where each other are.  But again, when Kitty is home...it shows her at Pendleton in the middle of a field.  I have no idea why but her old Droid did that too!

I am ready for church and I see it is raining!  We need it though!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We had another warm but nice day yesterday.  There were some brief showers around the area but not where we live.  I found my paperwork on our refrigerator and had remembered incorrectly and the warranty was for 4 not 5 years and had ended in June of this year.  Don't you wonder how appliances know to break down after the warranty expires?  We went to Ruby Tuesday's last evening for a very nice meal.  We had gotten a $15 coupon and it helped on the cost of the meal.  On the way back picked up a bag of ice and we are able to store it in the ice bin for the ice maker so that works well but just can't dispense it.  We will have to get this repaired.  I will go to church this morning.  Not sure whether Pat will feel up to it or not as still struggling with the hip and knee pain.  It seemed better yesterday evening but got worse after we got back from eating out.  Nothing else on the schedule for today.

Janet, those little stories really make us think about our own actions.  Each of us is a child of God and thus deserve respect.  I find that a smile goes a long way and most people, if they won't speak will usually respond in kind.  The older I get the more I realize how much I am like my mother in liking to be around people.  Wow, that was a long walk.  Nice you will have an interior decorator to give you some ideas.

Carol, that was a frightening experience yesterday and sure hope Don feels ok this morning.  I bet your kids are going to give you a hard time about not waiting for help.  Fortunately these new big screen TVs are relatively light and much easier to handle.

Etta Sue, waiting for a doctor is a great place to have the smartphone and to be able to read or work a puzzle or something.  I have a little word find puzzles that I often play for something not difficult but entertaining.  I always have a book underway as well.

Ruth Ann, you will love the iPhone.  Nice you are going to be able to save money.  I started out to do that when we changed but ended up probably paying more but it is one way we can help our son at this time.  Ruth Ann, based on watching my wife make many quilts I would suggest you seriously consider starting with a small one.  The first one she ever made was a king sized one and she said never again.  She enjoys making scrap quilts.  Hope you give it a try and see if you enjoy doing it.  We do have a beautiful handquilted white on white quilt hung in our family room that Pat spend two years quilting.  Pat and Paul saw it when they have stopped by.  I have decided that I will never buy another desktop computer as like using the laptop a very much and it will do everything I want.

Etta Sue, it sounds like the Latiitude is using and old map that had an error.  Glad that Kitty is getting like her new phone.  Like about everything else there is a bit of a learning curve but they are great fun, as you know.

We picked more Blackberries early this morning and there are still a lot more over there. I have two cups of juice so far and need another 2  cups for the first batch of jelly, If I don't get that out of what is dripping now I will just add some cranberry juice to the mix and go ahead and make the jelly. I baked a few Croissants this morning to have with Cream Cheese. I got the pre-frozen dough from the church where they give free stuff every Thursday, you never know what you are gonna get.

The weather is so pretty here today, nice sun and warm, 64° according to my weather AP on my phone.

Larry sorry to hear that Pat is in so much pain. You should ask Pat or Paul what the secret is for people who have arthritic pain.

Etta Sue did Iva Lou show up for church in her going to the wedding clothes?

Nice to see you Ruth Ann. How is Leslie doing these days? We don't hear much about him anymore.

It has been a quiet day.  John leaves in the morning and I have another busy week coming.  Heading into the school tomorrow to get Kassie's timetable, and to make any changes she wants made then later this week to Markham to see my SIL for the afternoon.  Looking forward to that.

Larry I agree with Marilyn, check with Pat and see how she has treated her arthritis.

Al hope things are going well for you!

Carol Happy Birthday!  I did wish you a happy birthday on FaceBook!

Have a good evening folks!

Janet

I got up early and walked a mile, then came home and did some cleaning up after the workmen.  They didn't do a very good job of sweeping up, and the gritty floors were bothersome.  Then after church I got all the laundry caught up, as they are working on the laundry room ceiling.  They said they have a small job to do in the morning, so will be late getting here, probably around 10.

We got estimates on the cabinets yesterday.  WOW!!  :o  $23,000.00 just for cabinets--and that doesn't include the counter tops or sinks!  We are afraid to go ahead with anything until we get another estimate and hear from our insurance company.  The workmen are doing the repairs not related to the water damage, stuff that has been needing done for a few years already.

We took Beth to church today again.  She really enjoys getting out of the care home, and there are several people who take time to talk to her, wheich makes her feel loved and special--which she is!

Carol, thanks for the hug!  I needed that!  And here is one for you......and please give this one to Pat for me.  Sure wish we could meet with you.

Larry, I forgot to answer your question about shingling.  Yes, I have helped shingle several houses.  I really had the hardest job, that of carrying the shingles up a ladder to the roof.  I couldn't carry a full pack, so had to open them and carry 1/3 of them up at a time.  I also helped tear off the old shingles, a hot, hard, dirty job.  I guess I have helped with every aspect of construction at one time or another.  This is the third house I helped build for my own family.

There is a story on TV right now about a young man who was murdered in Johnson, Kansas, only 20 miles from here.  His body has never been found, and the murder never solved.  I'm off to watch it!

Well, it has been an interesting day. I've learned some more about the new phone. The more I use it, the more I like it. (of course!)

Leslie and I both went to the cell phone store yesterday, then I had found a small, quiet restaurant with low lighting, so I suggested we eat there. It specializes in Thai foods, and we both enjoyed it. In fact, he suggested we return again sometime, and that next time he'd pick up the tab! His migraines continue, but he's dealing with it.

I think my next task will be to contact some plumbers for estimates on the plumbing at my home. That alone will make it difficult if my son in England is to live in the home while he refurbishes it...

$eems there'$ always a rea$on to $pend money!!!

Well, y'all have a good rest of the Lord's Day.

This has been a long day for us.  A visit with Haeather and her family then back home to get a late dinner ready.  John has gone to bed so it is my turn to do so as well.

I haven't told you about our latest additions to  our family.  We have a pair of finches that have mated and given us 6 little eggs.  That started a week ago.  Aparently they need 21 days to hatch.  The funny part about this is she has decided to lay her eggs in the food dish instead of the nest which was provided for her.  I hesitate to move the eggs, I don't want to disturb her!  I will update you in 14 days when they should start hatching!  Oh and on top of this our beautiful white cat is going to have kittens as well.  Even being with Kitten(s) she is a great mouser!

Night everyone.  If I don't get to bed John won't go to sleep knowing I am still up.  I don't know how he manages on the road not knowing when I go to bed!!!
