Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I think Ivalou has stopped her exercising at home...at least, she didn't do any while in Florida.  So when she does do very much, it tires her out, makes her sore and she isn't worth anything for a few days.

I asked her to go to the pool with me today.  She called and said today wasn't a good day for her...her legs didn't want to balance her good.  So I went by myself.

With the soaring gas prices...again...I decided to get groceries at WalMart for myself while in Noblesville.  I told Ivalou I would take her any day this week if she wanted to go but I thought if she decides she doesn't want to go, then I have to make another trip so I got mine today.  I can always read or look at my Droid while waiting on her.

So I am back home and doing some laundry.  I also got an email from TomTom saying that I have new maps to download to my TomTom so I might just go to the garage and get TomTom.  The mail is here also.

Such a bright pretty day today.  Looks like spring but it is still chilly...40°.  On my way home from Noblesville, I opened the sunroof but closed it, mainly because of the noise!

Al, I am rooting for you to be 'tough' and do what you need to do to improve your health and mobility.  You can do it!!

:ticked: The dirt is blowing again!  We are in deep trouble here in the heartland states of Nebraska, part of Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, if we don't get significant moisture SOON!  A lot of ranchers are selling off their cattle because the pastures have dried up....hard times.  Another dust bowl is something I do NOT want to experience!

Thanks for the suggestions, Judy.  I will call the Christian radio station.  I did go to the Christian bookstore in Garden when we were there, nothing yet.......

Each morning when I pray, I give the book into God's hands.  It was His idea, has been His project from the beginning, and what happens is up to Him.  I will do my part, pursuing every avenue I know about, but the results are up to Him.

Talk to you later!

Hi, Etta Sue!  We were typing at the same time!

Our last threat of snow turned out to be about 1/2 inch which is gone now.  But the latest is tomorrow afternoon and overnight a possible accumulation of up to 6 inches.  That is supposed to be followed by a cloudy day in the upper 30's, then rain and around 40, and winding up with mostly cloudy and near 40.  So by then, even if we do get that 6 inches, it should be pretty well gone again.

Hello everyone I pray everyone is getting the sunshine like I am today.  Well EEG test today showed epilsy seizures.  The dr. Thinks that they are being suppressed some by being on the TOPAMAX which is a migraine and seizure medicine.  Going to another specialist next tues for that.  I have a 40 to 50 percent  blockage in right artery.  he  didn't like that more test.  So all in all everything is well getting results finally and the LORD is blessing everyday.

Al keep up the therapy it will be worth it ,

Janet the radio stations are for public use so use them to get Beth's story out there.  I wish I had the money for the book maybe next round.  I will pray that the stations will help.

Larry thank you for your kind and inspiring words everyday.  We know you can't talk to us all but your messages do that for you.

JanetB your music is an inspiration everyday.

Jeanne lee you picture reminds me of my grandmother I will have to post her picture sone day.

Etta sue you remind me of an Aunt of mine she was always there no matter what.

I can name everyone and I apologize  but I pray for all of my CP Family everyday.

Marlo, can you send me a personal message on this website about your address? I'd like to send you a card.

Marilyn, I don't feel really well enough to pursue your websites very long yet, but will do so when I feel up to seeing them. Today, all day long, my eyes have stung as if someone had put salt spray in them.

After taking an elderly friend (another one :) ) to the doctor today, I visited an hour or so with a wonderfu, loving Christian friend here at the apartments, and then went to check on that car work that must be done. "Not today, ma'am, but return at 8 a.m. tomorrow and we can begin working on it around 9 a.m. The work will then take about 2 hours." So, all together, I need to trust our Lord to provide me with enough materials to keep me from going insane in that tiny little office waiting room for 3 hours. ;)

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Carol

Ruth Ann:  Please don't go insane tomorrow -  do you like to solve Sudoku?  That, plus a good book and maybe you could practice some dance steps. They may fix your car faster.  ;)  On your eye irritation today, could it be an allergy?

Not a peep from our friends & we don't want to interrupt anything in case he is ill again today so we will wait until she calls.   We still must drive to a cousin's home in the vicinity tomorrow for some genealogy and lunch so we will just keep the cell phone charged.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Another Wednesday is upon us.  Yesterday went well but we didn't do all that I had thought we might.  We did make the trip to Atlanta so Pat could see the knee doctor.  He gave her a shot in her knee, and she was feeling better even last night, and told her she is going to need a knee replacement.  I went up and spent time with our daughter at her apartment until Pat was finished with the doctor's appointment and then we all went over to the Shepard's Center for lunch.  Stacey decided she was really too tired to go to the store and it was starting to sprinkle so we came on home. I discovered that my friend's computer was out of warranty so spoke with him and brought it back to our town to have it looked at to see if it is worth the money to fix up. I dropped it off at the computer repair place on the way home yesterday.

Pat and I watched the movie "Courageous" last evening and think that may be the most powerful movie I have ever seen.  It was certainly an emotional one with a great message.  I could see myself in the various dads and the relationships with their children.  No wonder the churches are sponsoring the showing of this movie and encouraging families to attend.

Today is our usual Bible study and time at Dunkin' Donuts.  For lunch we are going to try out a new Del Taco that recently opened and then have a birthday gift to buy for a friend with whom we will have lunch tomorrow.  That will be plenty for this day.

Janet, the reunion I planned several years ago in Denver started out to be the first cousins and spouses, which would have been around 20 people.  Then the requests came to include families and, of course, one couldn't say no and we needed up with 85-90 people which caused some last minute problems with where we could meet.  However, it all worked out and was wonderful.  I hope you will have some help with your family reunion as that is  very helpful.

Al, nice to read your cheery posting from yesterday.  The bed sounds like it will really help you.  I know of many people who have really been helped by the physical therapy and trust that will be the same for you.

Carol, you are so right about the content of the TV.

Etta Sue, our car has a sunroof and we seldom open it and would not have opted for it but it came with the leather seats that Pat considered essential.  Hope Ivalou will be feeling better today.

Janet, sure hope we are not going into another weather period where you all will experience another dust bowl.

Jeanne, six inches of snow sounds like way too much.  Glad you can stay inside in weather like that.

Marlo, I always have felt it is better to know what is wrong with me than to live in doubt and fear of the unknown.  Glad the epilepsy seizures have been suppressed and the doctors will find the right medications.  I appreciate your comment concerning my postings.  When I don't address some comment to each person positing I always hope they will understand it isn't a personal thing but just that I had nothing to say regarding their posting for that day but have certainly read and appreciated their comments.

Ruth Ann, hope today finds your eyes feeling much better and the car work goes very quickly and well and that you don't lose your sanity in the waiting room.

Etta Sue

I have discovered that after I am in the pool, I have a burst of energy!  And no back pain!  If anyone came to my house, they would not see what I accomplished yesterday but I know I was busy.  I made four trips to my garage, two trips to the road, one trip to Ivalou's house, various things around the house that was a lot of walking, bending, sitting and moving!  That alone is great!

So....Al...with that being said...do your physical therapy!  Do it!  It is worth it to become limber and active again even for only those necessary deeds you need to do.  Like the saying says...if you don't use it, you lose it!

I think this is what is happening with my sister.  Maybe I need to get her out more!

Today is a beautiful, sunny day with strong winds...probably coming from Kansas!  We are having a heat wave...69°.  Maybe I should open my windows and let the wind dust my house!!

My WeatherFX station in the house says 54 degrees.  The WeatherBug says 65 degrees but my indoor/outdoor thermometer say 69 degrees!  I will take the 69 degrees for the last day of February any time!!

Morning Has Broken
(Click to hear music)

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

We had a terrible storm hit here about 10 last night, I sure made a lot of noise with the wind and rain pouring and blowing. There was the residue of snow on the street and the lawn. The street was only wet by the time I went to the gym but it is still on the grass and the deck right now.

Not much going on with me today, I do have to work on another web design that I have part way  finished. and Bake a bath of Chocolate Chip cookies.

I hope everyone is doing well today especially those  in  the area of the tornado's. What awful devastation in Branson Mo. and  Harrisburg Il.

I smashed one of my fingers at the gym this morning when I laid a 10# weight on the  bars beneath the weight bench. My finger was between the weight and the bar. Drat!! It sure hurts, but I won't know the damage to the nail bed until I go to have my nails done and she takes off the polish.

Ouch, Marilyn! Hope that finger feels better soon.

Well, I may go crazy in the laundry room, but not at the car place. They closed because of the tornado and bad storm warnings. That laundry room is in the basement, and one side is dug into the hill our apt. tower sits on. So that surely will be as safe as I can be for the next period time. :)

I'm taking allergy meds, so don't know exactly what;s going on with the eyes.

Much love to all,

We have a snow storm going on.  Everything is shrouded in a fog of snow.  Actually really pretty.  The wind is blowing the snow almost horizontal.  I am so glad I am not out driving in this.

Ruth Ann  Sorry you are having weather troubles, different from ours.

We have a problem with mice, this is an old farm house, and the critters find their way in.  We have a couple of young cats, which we have let have free run in the basement.  The mouse population is way down.  Just an occasional influx.  What has always amazed me was the way mice can climb a concrete wall.  Today I saw they have met their match.  The young cats can also climb the walls!  I watched one of them as I was loading the furnace.  Silly Kitties!

Janet

Today was a busy--but fruitful--day!  I had an early appointment with my chiropractor, then at 9:00 was the funeral for friend Paula M. and what a lovely tribute it was!  Then home to pick up Darrel, and we headed to Hugoton where I had a book signing at 11:30 at the senior center.  I was well received, and sold a good number of books, which made me really happy.  Then by Diane's store for a little while; to a furniture store-where I sold another book- then we got a drink and headed home.  Have any of you tried vanilla cream cokes?  They taste like a coke float!  Good!

After we got home, I went to my little scrapbook class, then to the home to read to Beth, back home, where Darrel had supper ready (Yea, Darrel!) ......and that's my day!

Oh, yes!  It was an absolutely beautiful day, too!  Such a wonderful change from the dirt blowing yesterday.  Well, that's Kansas!

Janet, tonight at church I thought I WAS in Kansas, with the wind blowing so hard that it was difficult to hear who was speaking.

I'm saddened by all the loss of life from weather and other problems today. Literally, we don't know the day nor the hour when we may meet our Lord. What a reason to work for Him all the more, to study our Bibles more, and to pray more!

Love to all today. I've got to go check my blood sugars, then head to bed.

Sweet dreams, everyone,

Pass Me Not, O Gentle Saviour
(Click to hear music)

Do not pass by Your servant.
Genesis 18:3

Words: Fanny Crosby, 1868; first appeared in Songs of Devotion, by Howard Doane (New York: 1870).
Music: W. Howard Doane, 1870

As earnest Christian pastor told of a young man about whom he had long felt much anxiety, as he had seemed so unconcerned about his soul, and was, in reality, a real cause of disturbance and interruption in classes for other young men. Meeting him one day, the loving pastor sought once more to influence him, urging, "We want you for Christ and his service." There was a certain change in his manner which did not escape the eye of the prayerful watcher for souls, and lacking time to do more he seized the opportunity to secure the presence of his young friend at a Christian Endeavor meeting soon to be held. True to his promise he was there. When an opportunity was given for some of the young men to choose a song, it was seen that he was urging his companion to select some particular hymn. The other, yielding to his request, asked if the hymn, "Pass me not, O Gentle Saviour," might be sung; and both young men joined in the singing with evident interest and heartiness. Later in the evening it was requested that all who were definitely on the Lord's side would confess their allegiance by standing. Whereupon the one over whom the heart of the pastor was specially yearning rose at once, and with decision.

"Tell me about your conversion," the thankful pastor requested at the close of the meeting, when hands were clasped in glad, brotherly welcome and recognition.

"Oh, yes," assented the other. "It was all through that hymn we have just sung. I was working on the canal at G, and there was a meeting being held at the Mariner's Chapel, nearby. The words floated out over the water, and from the tug where I was working I could hear them plainly enough. When they were just going to sing those lines 'While on others Thou are calling, Do not pass me by' a great fear came over me, and I thought, "Oh, if the Lord were to pass me by, how terrible it would be!" Then and there, on the tug, I cried out, "O Lord, do not pass me by." And, with a bright smile "He didn't pass me by. I am saved.!"

  Â
Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Refrain
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.

Let me at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief,
Kneeling there in deep contrition;
Help my unbelief.

Refrain

Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.

Refrain

Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav'n but Thee?

Refrain

Hi everyone.  We experienced a very rainy night here in Georgia but no storms in our immediate area and haven't heard regarding further areas of the state.  Other than a birthday luncheon for a friend at Red Lobster today my day is free of further commitments.  I hope to get the current batch of Golden Games applications finished.  I have all the data entered into the database and now just how to print them out, check them and then make individual certificates of participation for each one of the applicants.  The applications have been coming in slowly this year.  I have a couple of other projects here at my desk to work on as well so won't be twiddling my thumbs.

Marilyn, was the Easter page designed for your grandchildren?

Ruth Ann, sure hope the storms left your area alone.  We sure had a lot of rain during the night.

Judy, is John driving where they have a lot of snow as see blizzard conditions in a lot of the northern states?  Sounds like having cats is almost a necessity with the farm house.

Janet, I haven't tried the vanilla cream cokes but recently tried diet coke with a shot of orange flavoring in it from the new coke machines that are appearing in various places and I really liked it.  I also like the taste of lime in coke.  Glad you were able to sell a lot of books as people need to read your book.

I, too, thought I was in Kansas while at Wednesday Night Live at church last evening.  The church faces the west as well as the room we were in.  Wind whistles all evening.  Still windy today but no storms.

Kitty and I are meeting at Pizza King in a few minutes.

I met a man at the pool telling me there is no such place as heaven.   :idiot:  Said the new Jerusalem is NOT a city but a government ran by the 144,000 chosen ones.   :clobber:  When Christ is ready, he will call the people from the graves for the purpose of teaching the next generation about him...most recent deaths to the oldest.   :uglystupid:  And earth as we know it will be changed and that's where we will live in eternity!

What do you all think about this?  I think he is full of bologna!

It is dreary today in Indiana.  The temp is 37 degrees...quite a difference than this time yesterday!  My windows were open and the lovely breeze was going through the house.

Oh, yes!  As I was folding clothes, I heard Ali Cat crying and a terrible sound coming from her.  I ran into the utility room.  I had a window open and the mini blind was pulled up allowing the cord to hang lower.  Ali had gotten herself caught in the cord and was hanging off the sink with the cord around her belly!  I will never forget that sound!  I grabbed her and usually she doesn't like to be held but she was so scared she was shaking she let me hold her.  I calmed her down and let her down.  She looked at me as if to say, 'Thank you'.  And thank you, God, that I was home to rescue Ali.

Larry John is in Maryland.  He will be ok, although he stopped late last night.

If anyone has a favourite hymn they would like to hear let me know, If it is in the listing of hymns I will post it.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you got an earful of Jehovah Witness philosophy!  John 14:1-4 reads;  "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.  In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.  And where I go you know, and the way you know." This isn't an exclusive promise for only 144,000 chosen people, but is for all believers in Christ who follow the roadmap He gives in John 14:6; "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

It is well,

8 1/2 inches and counting!  :o I'm inside, warm, dry and comfortable.  And I don't have anywhere to go.  It will be quite a while now until we see bare ground again, but temperatures near 40 and at least one rainy day should speed up the process.

Hi, friends,

I am back from playing piano for the Salvation Army golden agers group this morning. They're such a sweet, kind group of folk, so it's a blessing to be with them.

Our apartment management present seminars often in the multipurpose room downstairs. This one is how to look for scams - a police officer will be speaking to us. That happens in 15 minutes.

Then, a brief meeting to transfer the materials I'm finished with, at 3:30, and to receive the new materials.

After that, I get to rest about an hour before meeting with friends to celebrate someone's birthday.

Other than that, I don't have much to do1

Y'all have a great afternoon,

I sure apreciate all your prayers/wishes.  I do admit that I thought being at home was going to be easier and better than it actually is.  I need Marbeth to help me do so many things.  Please pray for her as well.  I can only sit in three different places here, as it's hard or impossible for me to get up from others.  Thar makes it impossible to get my feet elevated, which they need.  So you see some of the needs for prayer.

I must admit, Larry, that it did me good last evening to watch Golden State beat Atlanta!

Janet

Al, I hope things get easier for you both.  Sometimes it takes a while to figure out a better way to do things.

Etta Sue, I agree with Ken.  Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones I know who talk about the 144,000 chosen ones.  As to whether heaven will be on a renovated (made new) earth, or somewhere in the heavens above matter not to me, because God is the creator and it will be perfect!  Sometimes I don't think people actually know WHAT they believe!

We are to go to a fellowship meeting with friends from church, so I have Etta Sue's Cinnamon Roll Cake in the oven.  Hope it turns out good--it is REALLY rich!

Two more books will leave for new homes tomorrow!  Inch by inch, the thing's a cinch!  ;)

Larry and Etta Sue.....John and I had a conversation last week on the subject of end times.  We have come to the conclusion that only God knows "the time or the hour", also how things will unfold.   BUT we believe the main thing to remember is that we are to BE READY.  It is vital that we are prepared, for life or death.  It is also vital we tell others to be prepared.

John is back in country and didn't encounter any bad weather.  Thank you Lord!

JudyB

Al I believe you will find that as you are home and getting comfortable, it will become easier to be at home.  Off the top one big advantage is Marbeth doesn't have to drive out to you every day!!

God Bless

Right, Judy!  We must LIVE ready!  I try to remind myself of that fact daily!  I fail so many times, but God's still working on me!
