Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hello!  Happy New Year!  Oh, boy, back to work.... :(

The good part about going back to work is that I'm one day closer to NEXT Christmas... just kidding.

I hope all of you have a great day.  Any spare time I have on the computer for the next few weeks will be spent setting up a website and doing some programming, so I may be a little scarce, but I'll try to drop in during my lunch hour at work.

Bye for now!  Hey, Karmat!
I survived open heart surgery.... :)

Check out my blog at www.bernardshuford.com.

I am praying that the MRI shows what is causing the pain in my arm and shoulder.  I am ready to give it to anybody that would take it!!!!!  It sure has put a damper on my pc time and when I am driving my car, it really gives me fits.  So I am limiting my pc time.  Well, I can be at the pc but typing causes me lots of pain.  So I have become a semi-lurker!!!

I am praying that everyone has a God-filled day and keeps warm!!!

I found out what is causing all the  ruckus with the dogs. The 4 dogs from next door are running loose in the stree and causing all the cars to stop  they are out there barking at everything. That mama dog has had another batch of puppies, I went over there and tried to shoo them all back into the yard but they wouldn't go in the gate, I think they came out a different way, maybe dug out.

Now I know why Happydog was going over the fence a couple of months ago, that mama dog was in season again. They don't take care of the dogs next dog and she just keeps having puppies every 6 months.

Hi from frozen Vanc. Island.  We have snow and ice everywhere and extremely cold for here.  Something like -10C and dropping.  I am sitting in Ralph's office at the computer, freezing, as workmen are in my home and the garage door is open letting in all the cold.  Sawing outside!!  One more day should finish the work and then can complete the unpacking.  It snowed on moving day...just to add a little challenge to the day.

Our New Year has started with all four of us being ill with a nasty virus that is sweeping BC.  Could have picked a better time to appear as there simply isn't a moment to rest.  So far have all managed to stay in the game....

The suite is grand and couldn't ask for a more wonderful place to live.  Will be all cheery again in a week or so when stress has ended and the kids can return to a normal life.  Pray real hard each day that we will all survive the stress.  Never met so many obstacles from business services in all these years...seems no one tells the truth about anything any longer and care even less!  The costs keep rising like the snow outside....

Want to take this short time to read the postings and get a spiritual lift...so will end this post now.  My computer will not be operating for a week or so and goodness knows when can get back on this one.
Hope everyone is okay and staying close to warm fires, etc.  God is good.  Glad He is in control and not me....God Bless, Liz.

Ohhhh, Marilyn, the USA has scored twice and now it's tied 3-3

Well,, first day back at work and I crawled home, feeling like death warmed over!
But oh.. that chicken soup, Margit put a whole barbequed chicken in the pot and let it simmer with rice- shaped pasta, and parsley etc.

So we are "faint but pursuing" lol.
Love to all sufferers, whatever you may have,
God knows about it and will surely deliver us.

God bless you Liz and family, and may He heal your illnesses in record time!  Sorry about the problems and inconveniences of the move, and pray you will soon be sellted and comfy.

Chris and Margit--do get well soon!  I'm sorry you are also under attack from a nasty "bug.  God bless!

Etta Sue, I'm so sorry about your poor arm!  I have been typing a lot and my arm is starting to hurt too, so I am trying to do less typing.  I did get a lot of my brother's story typed up, though. :D  Do keep us informed how your MRI turns out.  (The results, I mean)  I hope they find your problem and can take care of it quickly!  (((hugs)))

joyce robson

Hi again,

Posted a long post but seem to have lost it.

Trying again

joyce robson

Ok here we go again.

Just wanted to say Hi; a good way to start the new year.

My baby is 39 years old today and my oldest will be 43 on Wednesday.

They bought get to hear my recant their births ( that's the enjoyment of being their mother).

Their births were easier than I tell them; thanks to the good LORD ; I really don't remember much pain at all.

I think the pain comes as they grow older!!

An old saying that I heard a long time ago:

When they are little ; they step on your toes; when they are older; they step on your heart.

But truth be told, they are delightful and good Christians; so I am very pleased.

Going to check around other forums.

Hello everyone!!  Well, things have slowed to a crawl, now.  Three students.  Actually only two because one insisted on playing computer games instead of working so I told him he couldn't get credit for his time here.  He can't leave because he is a minor and doesn't have a ride.  Ugh.

Anywya.  Rainy, rainy, rainy, here.  It has stopped some now, but is still cloudy, and getting colder.

God is good, isn't he.  <waits for response>

Well, Ima gonna go actually do something, maybe.

See ya later!

Hi everyone and a special welcome to our new members greuu and nicolanne.  I look forward to seeing your postings in the days and months ahead.

I have been gone most of the day as today was registration for our winter classes at our computer learning center.  I filled in for the treasurer, a job I had the last three years, as he was handling the registration for a class he is going to teach.  We had a very good turnout and almost all of our 13 classes we are offering are full.  We usually have further registrants before the classes start.  I then stayed and worked with the new treasurer on the books.

Sorry to read that several of you are ailing.  Liz, sure glad to see you got moved and hope the work you are having done will soon be finished and you will be all straightened away in your new home.

We have had rain all day but it is suppose to end late this afternoon and get about 30 degrees colder by morning, but no snow.  It should get to freezing tonight.

I have a lot I need to get done so will signoff for today.

Subject: Left Handed
Little Bobby was spending the weekend with his grandmother after a particularly trying week in kindergarten.
His grandmother decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all night and everything was beautiful.

His grandmother remarked, "Doesn't it look like an artist painted this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?"

Bobby said, "Yes, God did it and he did it left handed."

This confused his grandmother a bit, and she asked him "What makes you say God did this with his left hand?"

"Well," said Bobby, "we learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on God's right hand."

Ohhhh, Janet!  Can't you just imagine our grandkids saying something like that?  So sweet.

VISITING DAY

He was looking forward to this moment all day long, after 6 days of
labor and it finally arrived - Visiting Day!

The man with the keys arrived to swing open the large, heavy doors. The
cold gray hall springs to life in the warm glow of light. He could
hardly control His emotions.

The families began to arrive. He peers from the corner of the room
longing for the 1st glimpse of His loved one. He lives for the weekends.
He lives for these visits.

As the cars arrive, He watches intently. Then, finally, they arrive, for
whom He would do anything. They embrace, eat a light lunch and reminisce
how things used to be.

At one point, they break into singing, with interruptions of laughter
and applause. But all too soon it is over. A tear comes to His eyes as
they depart.

Then the man with the keys closes the heavy doors. He hears the key turn
in the lock marking the end of a special day.  There He stands, alone
again.

He knows that most of His visitors will not contact Him again till next
week. As the last car pulls away from the parking lot, Jesus retreats
into loneliness as He waits until next Sunday - Visiting Day.

Is the time that we spend with Jesus an everyday thing, or do we just
visit Him on Sunday. Think about it ...

Hi all. Woohoo America won that hockey game in Holland.

Thank Janet for posting those two stories. I have read the one about Jesus before.
The pain in my neck has moved down  to the area between my shoulder blades but up high.  I think it has to do with the way I sit at the computer and the way the furniture is arranged in my clients houses. I have to keep my head turned to the left to see them and talk to them.

Not much to tell about my day today.  Cleaned a couple of inches of snow off the car before work this morning, scraped about 1/4 inch of ice off at noon to come home.  Since then it's been alternating between slight freezing drizzle and snow flurries.  There's enough salt on the roads that with the temperture staying around 20 they didn't ice up.   Pretty normal January weather, although a little warmer than average...  which will be changing the rest of this week.

My command is this:  Love each other as I have loved you.  John 15:12

I Surrender All
(Click to hear music)

Author:  Judson W. Van DeVenter, 1855-1939 alt.
Musician:  Winfield S. Weeden, 1847-1908

All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

Refrain

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessèd Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

Refrain

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

Refrain

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

Refrain

All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!

~I Surrender All

     For five years, Mr. Van de Venter wavered between the challenge of the Gospel ministry and that of becoming a recognized artist. Here is how he tells it:

     "For some time, I had struggled between developing my talents in the field of art and going into full-time evangelistic work. At last the pivotal hour of my life came, and I surrendered all.

     "A new day was ushered into my life. I became an evangelist and discovered down deep in my soul a talent hitherto unknown to me. God had hidden a song in my heart, and touching a tender chord. He caused me to sing."

     Dr. Billy Graham, wrote this tribute to Mr. Van de Venter:

     One of the evangelists who influenced my early preaching was also a hymnist who wrote 'I Surrender All'—the Rev. J.W. Van de Venter. He was a regular visitor at the Florida Bible Institute (now Trinity Bible College) in the late 1930s. We students loved this kind, deeply spiritual gentleman and often gathered in his winter home at Tampa, Florida, for an evening of fellowship and singing.
