JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Hi Ruth and Ruth Ann...  Thanks so much for your input tonight.

Yes, we do serve a wonderful Saviour.

Hi Pat
....great devotional this morning.   To think that we belong to Jesus and nothing can change that!      Love that song... "Now I belong to Him"      I used to sing it at different churches.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Yes Karma....a prayer journal is a good thing!   Sometimes I had written a list of prayer requests and forgotten.  Later when I find the list, I see that God has already answered most of them.    Then I praise His Holy name.

I gotta start reading more closely.  I feel like I have missed something.  :-\

Anyway, I was thinking today, after reading through the prayer requests, and in different forums today, we really need to pray for eachother.  One of Travis's favorite songs right now is called "Sheltering Trees" by Newsong.  It goes like this in part of it:

We all need, sheltering trees
Friends in our life who get down on their knees
Lift us up unto the King of Kings,
We all need sheltering trees.

I know that I, for one, take my Christian friends for granted a lot of time.  I am committing myself to pray daily for this website (not only that it would be an encouraging uplifting place to rest, but that we would start to see people actually start to come to Jesus Christ for salvation because of it), but also for each of you, and whatever needs (spiritual, physical, financial, social) you may have.  I want to be a spiritual tree for you.  Anybody with me?

Thank you Pat for that message from D. James Kennedy.   I have been in Evangelism Explosion for 18 years now and often I hear Dr. Kennedy on the radio.  One time coming home from visiting people with my team we heard him and when we reported back at the church I told them we had listened to him on the way back.

It is true that heaven is a free gift and we cannot earn it and do not deserve it, but before a person can receive this free gift, he must be willing to receive Jesus as Saviour, receive Jesus as his resurrected Lord, transfer his trust from what he has been doing to earn his way to heaven to what Jesus did on the cross and REPENT.

I make sure that they are willing to repent and that means turning around and going the other way before they say the sinner's prayer to receive Christ.

I am very aware of easy believism, and that usually doesn't happen when I am talking to someone.

We have a Wonderful Saviour to give us eternal life when we don't deserve it.    Praise God.

Karma I haven't heard that one, but yes we do need sheltering trees.  I for one am praying for the folks on CP, not each need specifically but our Lord knows the details.  There are times that we need prayer and there is no where to turn,  Thankfully I have a few dear friends who know to pray with little prompting.

Ruth Ann, If only I was closer I would gladly share the wheel with you.  Interestingly John is headed to GA as well.  I am praying for your safety as well as the health of your family.

I received word tonight of the illness of a pastor friend of ours.  I grew up with his wife and she too is ill with a viral infection.  She is the only "bread winner", is working 16 - 18 hours a day, and sounds worn out.  Keep these folks in your prayers would you.   This is the first I have heard from them since 1996.

Well it is late, I am off to bed.
Night all
Judy
