Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:15

The town of Chepstow in South Wales is one of the gateway towns from the country's border with England. A stroll through it while on holiday caught my imagination when I saw a hotel called "The Five Alls."

The facade of the building was bedecked with five life-size figures with inscriptions as follows:

  • A soldier with the inscription "I fight all;"
  • a bishop with "I pray for all;"
  • a king, "I rule all;"
  • a lawyer, "I plead for all;"
  • a banker, "I pay all."
What an opportunity to preach a message concerning Christ in that town by adding two other themes represented in His blessed person:

  • "I love all"

  • "I died for all."
--B. Powlesland

God loved the world of sinners lost,
And ruined by the fall;
Salvation full, at highest cost,
He offers free to all.

O 'twas love, 'twas wondrous love,
The love of God to me;
It brought my Saviour from above,
To die on Calvary!

E'en now by faith I claim Him mine,
The risen Son of God;
Redemption by His death I find,
And cleansing through the blood.

Love brings the glorious fullness in,
And to His saints makes known
The blessèd rest from inbred sin,
Through faith in Christ alone.

Believing souls, rejoicing go;
There shall to you be giv'n
A glorious foretaste, here below,
Of endless life in Heav'n.

What did Paul do to Timothy because of the Jews?

  • Sent him to Macedonia

  • Shaved his hair

  • Circumcised him

  • Hid him in a synagogue[/b]

Him would Paul have to go with him: and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they all knew that his father was a Greek.  The Acts (of some Apostles) 16:3

Pat:  Thanks for the devotional this morning.

Ria:  I love reading your posts, they are uplifting and informing, following the weather in other parts of the world and then comparing it to ours is very interesting.

Jenny: I like doing jigsaws of which I get a daily e-mail but I have not done the ones on CP for some time. Will check them out later today.

Maybe I am early enough to be on page one today!  The sun is shining, God's in His heaven, all's right with the world!  (But not IN it.)

I feel like myself again today, and for that I am praising God.  I can't stay down in the dumps for long!  No good to myself or anyone else when I am feeling down.  But there come those days (rarely for me, thank God) when the trials of life, combined with a lack of sleep, really pull us down----but "Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world."

BEEP BEEP!   ;D

Good morning/afternoon folks!

Troy has another swim meet this morning at 10:30am.

They bumped him up to the A team, which is with the best swimmers last night.  Not sure what they have planned to do today with him.

The coach said, "he is doing really good."
Troy swam the 500yd freestyle last night and got a 6.23 min. The coach said, that most kids who have been swimming for 2 years can't get that good of score." Troy's goggles came off even when he dove of the block, so his eyes were all red and he could barely see.  :(
He was excited and so was his team.  He took 7th in the over all heat.  Which is excellent since he was swimming with the A team.

He will swim the 100yd butterfly and the 50 free today.  I am so jazzed.  I love watching the kids swim.
It is going to be crowded there today with 30 different schools there. The girls we also be swimming today. Ugh...what a mess.

I better get going.

I love you all.

SONI..how proud you must be of Troy.  I will be pulling for him.  It is 10:40 EST right now and I thing you are 2 hrs behind me.  Anyway, I will be thinking and praying for you.

I agree with you, Ruth, about Ria's postings. I look forward to seeing just what's going on in Holland and then love to read her quotes.

Today it is beautiful and not too cold.  In fact the temps are in the high 40's.

I am going to Myrtle Beach tonight and to see the broadway play tomorrow.....Les Miserables.  I have been given tickets for a present and  am really looking forward to it.  I dearly love the ocean and beach.  When I am there it is soooooooo relaxing.  I wish I could afford to retire there and just listen to the waves washing on shore everyday.

God's blessings to all .  Will be back after the weekend.

love, kathy

Good Morning:Pat thank you for the devotion.
Janet glad to hear you are back to being youself again.
Ria, I hope you will be feeling better as the day progresses.
Jenny; Bless you dear sister.
Sonja: WooHoo for Troy, you go Troy.

Today I am doing my laundry in my new washer Ya--hoo!!

The kids finally got here about 9 pm last night broght me 1/2 of a German Chocolate cake. (My Favorite by the way) and a Gift certificate for a one hour threaputic massage at  Dynamic Therapies. I will call and make an apppointment soon.

Both dogs are standing on the couch looking out the back window over the fence at the neighbors dogs and whining. Poor babies have to be confined to our yard. Better for them that way.I would rather have them safe than to be out in the neighborhood.

Kathy, that has always been a dream of mine--to live near the beach and the ocean......... 8)  Even if it never comes to be; it's a good dream!

Marilyn, it sounds as if you had a terrific birthday--good for you!

Ria, I also enjoy your posts.  Keep them coming, please!

Morning, Sonja!  Another busy "kid day" for you!  Good going, Troy!  You're the man!

Beth came over to sign her tax returns that Darrel prepared for her, so I made her breakfast.  At least I know she ate one solid meal today. ;)

Talk to you later, kids! ;D

Kathy ~ I wish I were going to Myrtle Beach with you.  I love that area!  Lots of memories at Myrtle Beach.

Sonja ~ Thank you for your encouragement on the devotion.  If you use it for your website, maybe you should say it was from 'The Daily Bread'.  I am praying that Troy does great at his swim meet.  And Lila Mae....what a moment!

Tony called me again last night and talked for over an hour.  He doesn't like this night shift...5pm-5am...but I think I do.  He calls me about every other night.  Also they are to be here this evening and we are going out for dinner...my way of paying him for fixing the garage door.  BTW, I did walk out there this morning and it was frozen to the pavement.  I got it loose and it works fine.  Just remembered, I walked out there to get a cassette of the Youth Ministers sermon last weekend...forgot to get it!

It is snowing!!!  All is white.  New fallen snow.  No brown from polution yet!

Hi Pat,   I enjoyed the devotional this morning and the answer is Circumcised.

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Ria sorry you couldn't sleep.   Have you tried drinking "Sleepy Time Tea"   before you go to bed.  Do not drink regular tea because it has caffein in it. Not good for sleeping.  Another trick is to drink warm milk with your calcium pill and then put socks on.  Apparently if you have warm feet it keeps you sleeping,    Hope some of these help tonight!

Love Ruthie
The Lord is my light and my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Ps. 27:1

Ruthie

Janet, happy to hear you are feeling "up" today.   I know sometimes I feel "down" because of life.   It is good to know that "no matter what" we have a Saviour who loves us so.

God Bless

Ruthie

By the way Janet...I like your new picture of yourself.  From my first post to you to the next, it changed.  haha

Hey, you guys are good!

Yes, "CIRCUMCISED" is the correct answer!

Acts 16:3  says:
Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.

Some of us really need to know that Jesus Cares!

DOES JESUS CARE?
(Click to hear music)

Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?

Refrain
Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?

Refrain

Does Jesus care when I've tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief,
Though my tears flow all the night long?

Refrain

Does Jesus care when I've said "goodbye"
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks,
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?

Refrain

I have a new face today!  Thank you to "you know who!" for that.

I just posted a lot of underwater photos in the Photographs Here area, hope you will all go look and comment.  I still have more to do, but no time just now.  It may be better to break it into two parts, anyway, I wouldn't want to tire anyone out!  Hope you enjoy!

I came back to guess that the answer is Proverbs! (If I am wrong, I will get my concordance and look it up!)

The Holy Spirit: We Need to Repent

Do not quench the Spirit.
--1 Thessalonians 5:19

It is time for us to repent, for our transgressions against the
blessed Third Person have been many and much aggravated. We have
bitterly mistreated Him in the house of His friends. We have
crucified Him in His own temple as they crucified the Eternal Son
on the hill above Jerusalem. And the nails we used were not of
iron, but of the finer and more precious stuff of which human
life is made. Out of our hearts we took the refined metals of
will and feeling and thought, and from them we fashioned the
nails of suspicion and rebellion and neglect. By unworthy
thoughts about Him and unfriendly attitudes toward Him we grieved
and quenched Him days without end.

The truest and most acceptable repentance is to reverse the acts
and attitudes of which we repent....

We can best repent our neglect by neglecting Him no more. Let us
begin to think of Him as One to be worshipped and obeyed. Let us
throw open every door and invite Him in. Let us surrender to Him
every room in the temple of our hearts and insist that He enter
and occupy as Lord and Master within His own dwelling.  The
Pursuit of Man, 71-72.

"Forgive me. Change me. Indwell me. Control me. Amen."

Janet I like your new photo you look great, no wonder Darrell married you. 8)

I have a 2:30 appointment at the hairdresser for a haircut. I am contemplating getting my looooong hair cut off to about shoulder length. Trying to eventually get it to all one length and get the perm cut off. Can't do it all at once though, I hate to cut it period it took so long to get this way, but  the layers need to go. I will have someone take a new photo of me later. I forgot you can't really see how long my hair really is, it is just about the middle of my back around the strap area.
