Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

         A Miracle..Chris having tonsils out.
well I call it a miracle...God sorted it.

The specialist has put him into the fast lane for a tonsillectomy..within 3 months or a cancellation..He said if someone cancels Chris can have it done tomorrow., Chris was only in there for 10 minutes.

Gos is sooooooooooo good.  Thanks for the faithful ones who continued to pray for my son.  I love you all.

As a matter of fact, Nard, one of the youth directors we know well has just run into that problem.   :-\  In Franklin, NC (about an hour from here), one of the youth pastors was going to take his youth group.  The theatre there is apparently pretty strict about being 18 to get into a R movie, and told them that under 17 would need a parent with them.  Ouch.  So, they have come up with the solution that hte students will need a signed consent/release to enter.   I think i will go call my brother and see if he has thought of this.

About thinking about the end of your life.  I have, even though I am "young."  I've even gone so far as to tell Bernard who I want to preach, if they are still around.   :P  I have stopped short of writing what they need to say, or what songs need to be played/sung, but that may come sometime.

I can see though, why it would be hard to deal with.  I know some that can't deal with their own mortality at all, and freak out if they have the least little health problem.  I don't think it needs to be thought about continually, but it doesn't need to be totally ignored, either.

Hi Everyone, thanks for raptorous welcome, totally unexpected.

Pat got me thinking about how we tend to do many things for God in our Churches and how we tend to do only what we should do because we are duty bound, but I wonder if we are willing to stick our necks out and do something because it is good for someone else... just a thought.

I was asked sweetly what denomination I am; I am a Baptist minister, but that is my vocation.  I am a Christian and you will find me wherever Christians are to be found.  Try as I may, I cannot seem to knock the religion out of people and sometimes I wonder if Jesus came into our Churches, whether he would actually be welcome.  I was baptised in the AOG where I fellowshiped for several years until I moved to a new home in Johannesburg, South Africa; my local friendly Church was Baptist.  It was while I was  there that I went to Theological College for a year and followed up with 3 years at Spurgeons College in London.

I have been in full time ministry for four years but intend to go into a "tent making ministry" at the end of the year.  This will be in the Thames Gateway where 50 000 new homes are to be built.  The opportunity for us here in the UK is the authorities are making no provision for the building of new Churches.

Our new water pump is great.  it seems to have two pressure points, and is not at full pressure all the time.  It is quiet and I think the 2 pressure levels are a protection mechanism.  I hope.  Heather was right when she said I have had no end of trouble with the water system in this place.  The joys of an old home.  The cement on the basement floor was poured on June 19th, 1940.  The house is much older than that. :o

I am thrilled for you mom ..... I remember living in Loring, and we had a quiet, 2 pressure point, pump, and it was wonderful.  The only difference between our well in Loring and yours is that mine was a drilled well.  So I suppose you will still have to be careful with the amount of water that you have to use, but I am sure you will enjoy having the new pump.

Well, another day, another dollar as the saying goes.  It is funny, when I was working for this company the last time, I didn't enjoy going to work.  However this time, I find myself looking forward to going to work every day.  I am on a project (telephone calling project) that I can honestly say that I really enjoy, and when I found out that I was going to be on this project, I was really excited.  There is no way of describing how excited I really was.

If I could ask all of you to pray about something, we are looking for a place to live.  We are currently staying with my brother, however this is only temporary.  If you all could pray that the right place, at the right price could be provided for us, I would really appreciate it.

So on that note, I must run, I have to go and get ready to go to work.  I leave here in about 2 hours and will be gone until about 12:30.  Makes for late nights, but it is well worth it.

Love to all
Heather

Our Pastor spoke about this on Sunday.  If we are doing it out of love then it means nothing to God.

Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself to us.

Thanks Nards for that info.  I will give our youth group leader a call.  I am going with the youth group so I have no worries, but the other parents will have to sign a waver.

QuoteBy Eddie~I have a question:  Do any of you think on the fact that the end of your time is drawing closer and closer?  I guess that this question is directed more towards the older crowd, but not necessarily so.

This thought has crossed my mind.  I see my parents getting older and my grandmothers passing away and knowing that I will be there soon.  I try not to think to much about it.

Hope you find peace with in to over come this little fear.  It would be hard and I can't imagine how you feel because I am so much younger.   I am guessing when I get to that point I will remember this little conversation we had on CP.

I have heard the saying "living to a ripe old age" but surely when something is "ripe" it's ready for the Master's table.
Or alternately ready to fall out of the tree, or off it's perch! lol. :)

Oh thanks Chris...

"I am ripening up then".....Looking forward to Our Master's Table and the 'New Wine'.

Love Jenny.

Yes, The Passion....is rated R.  So kids should be accompanied with their parents or have a parental consent to see 'the experience'.  The teens at my church are going Sunday morning and then returning to church for discussion and pizza lunch.  ALL of them have to have a parental consent signed by a parent to attend the viewing.

Death.  Death has never seemed sad to me.  Yes, I will miss the deceased but we are born to die.  That is inevitable.  I have longevity on both sides of my family but I truly don't feel as healthy as my parents when they were my age.  When you think of it....if you are married, one of you are bound to die before the other.  One of you will be left to carry on on this earth.  One of you will have to play both rolls...the man and woman's duties.  I am talking about death when you are older.  I still don't understand death of a child.  I believe burying your child would be a very hard task to do.  Parents shouldn't have to do that.  As for my own death...I am ready.  When my husband passed away, I then put everything in my name and my son's name.  He is my only child but I wanted to simplify it for him when I go.  And no, he doesn't like to talk about it.  But I believe everyone should talk about it.  And yes, I do have my plot...I used to say the only property I owned was my cemetery lot....and my tombstone is up as well.  Funeral...no, but there is money being left for that.

Ivalou and I had lunch at Chili's!  Great lunch.  Then we shopped at Wal-mart!!

O, you look pretty fit Jen!

Hi Everyone!

Ohhhh, it's so good to be home!  I got in a massive traffic jam on the way down and it took about an hour or a little more to move 8 miles.  When it started to move, there was no obvious reason for it.  No evidence of an accident or construction or anything!

Needless to say, I was very late for my appointment but I had my cell so called and everything was fine.

Now, I have to go back on Thursday!

Great to read your posts today.

Lovely to see your post, Gareth!  So you're originally from South Africa?  In the little Baptist church I used to attend when I lived in Richmond Hill, the pastor there was from Elizabethtown.  I think that was the name of it.

He was very interesting.  His father followed in the footsteps of David Livingstone and was made the honorary "king" of some tribe up near the Congo or somewhere.  This pastor had the "long thing" (you sure can tell I know what I'm talking about!)  that was used to put on the shoulders of his father by the head of the clan or tribe or ....  (I better stop before I really put my foot in my mouth!)

Anyway, great to have you Gareth!  Got your PM and interesting to know you were in Brentwood and Leigh-on-Sea so recently!  It's been years and years since I was there.

Well by the time you're in your 70's it's for sure you are aware of the fact that life is not never-ending.    :D  But ours is eternal.   :D :D :D

My mother, 92 years old, started in her 40's reminding everyone that "No woman in my family has ever lived past 65."  So now she wants to know "How did I get to be so old?"   ;D

Rose of Sharon
(Click to hear music)

Words and music by Alfred B. Smith and John Peterson

"I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
Solomon 2:1

There's a Beautiful Rose ever blooming,
In the Garden of God's Love for me;
It has filled all the world with it's fragrance,
It will last for eternity.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Precious Savior, I'll always adore Thee,
For with Thee no one else can compare;
By Thy Love so divine, I'm enraptured,
Thou are fairer than all of the fair.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me.

Are you lost in your sins ~ tired of living?
Is your heart filled with bitterness, too?
Come to Jesus, the sweet Rose of Sharon,
He has the power to make you anew.

Chorus
Rose of Sharon now blooming I see,
Blessed Jesus, who died on the tree;
With my whole heart I sing "Hallelujah!"
Rose of Sharon, so precious to me
.

Pat, isnt' traffice just a wonderful and fun thing to have to deal with?  NOT  I'm glad that you are home safe.  Thursday is supposed to be nice weather-wise so hopefully your drive won't be as bad.

I have some paperwork to take care of, so must be off.  Talk to everyone later.

Pat

Yes, it is Sue.  Traffic problems are Horrible!

The traffic started to move more quickly at the Service Centre between Woodstock and Ingersoll, Judy and maybe they took the culprits into the service centre but there were no marks on the highway or in the snow banks to show that there had been a problem.

One thing that Jawad (my dental student) told me today is that I only have maybe four more visits!  And then I'll be done.  I'm not sure how I'm going to react to have a hunk of stuff in my mouth though! ??? ::) :-\

Great to see you back home, Janet!  Hope that Darrel had a good visit with his doctor.

So, now we're both home!

My journey wasn't as far as yours though.

Janet

Well, Hi there, Pat!  I tend to forget that you can see who is online!   ;D  We left very early this morning, and when we got to Amarillo it was snowing.  His doctor got Darrel right in, then we went to see his sister, because we missed her last week.  We went to the Golden Corral and had lunch with them, then just came right on home.  We did stop in Hugoton for a bit and had a nice visit with our son in law, got hugs from Mark and Abby, too! ;D

His doctor changed Darrel's meds, said he appears to be doing well, next appointment in six months.  :D

Pat, I'm glad you are safely home.  And I will be happy for you when your teeth are all fixed!  ;D ;D

Hey!  I sent in our deposit today for that trip, so we WILL be seeing you in September!  Yeaaaaa!!!  I can hardly wait!! ;D 8)

I'm going to check photos now---oh, yes!!!  We bought a card reader today!  It reads 10 different cards!
