JennyW: Hello Janet! I check every day. I wish everyone would get going again! I miss seeing pictures and reading posts! 2025-01-24, 06:54:04

Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

We fear men so much, because we fear God so little.
~William Gurnall~

    In which book of the Bible do we find the verse:
    "...for God did send me before you to preserve life."

      1) Daniel
      2) Esther
      3) Genesis
      4) Luke

    Morning Devotional...

    And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper.
    1 Samuel 17:20

    The keeper is unknown to us.

    Yet, had he not faithfully tended the sheep, David would not have been free to accomplish his exploits in the Valley of Elah.

    Perhaps we won't be the one to do "great" things for God ourselves, but our faithfulness in the "small" things (Mt. 25:21, 23) may release others who can.

    Some day, when the whole story is told, we will rejoice together.
    --Garry W. Seale

    Put thou thy trust in God,
    In duty's path go on;
    Walk in His strength with faith and hope,
    So shall thy work be done.

    I hope everyone is doing great.  I have just now finished reading Sunday's posts.  Didn't quiet make it through all of Saturday's, I don't think.

    I gotta get to bed.  I've been working on some pictures now until my eyes are crossing.  We have some friends who are bluegrass musicians, and they are getting ready to make a new CD.  They let me take the picturs for it, and I am trying to get them ready to burn on a CD so they can look at them.  I sure am glad I am not trying to make a living at this. >o o<     <----karmat's eyes crossing

    Have an awesome week ya'll.  It looks like another super busy one here, but I'll try to get in.

    Take care

    Well I finally finished reading all the posts from yesterday.  Won't try to reply to them, though.  Yesterday went well, though tiring.  We drove 120 miles up to the little area called Pistol River, I preached, then the little group had midday meal together, then drove back down.  It's a very, very small group.  I've wondered a time or two if it's really worth it for me to go up there.  Sometimes I think it would really be better if they went to another church in the nearest town, which is only 15/20 minutes away.  Lord, give me wisdom to know what to do.  I only go up there about once every 2/3 months anyway.  Someone in the group ministers on the other Sundays.

    Ria, you get the best little poems!  I just appreciate this one so very much.  You should post it in the topic that Joyce opened in Manna For The Soul.  It goes right along with what she was saying.

    Al, this reminds me so much of some of the very small churches that Jack used to go and preach in to help them out.  It was a long drive there but my how they appreciated Jack going to them.  It was worth it.

    I just looked and saw that we have NINE guests on line!

    And there are no answers to our little quiz up above??

    "Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

    Papa John

    The answer to the quiz is Genesis in the story of Joseph.  Well, I didn't look it up this time but I think this is correct.

    Another cloudy day here with a chance of rain later today.

    For the past several Sunday nights, Chris, our preacher has given us lessons from Psalm 103.  It is a wonderful Psalm which tells us about God's love.

    Ps 103:8-14
    8   The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
    9   He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
    10   he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
    11   For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;
    12   as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
    13   As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
    14   for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
    (NIV)

    Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

    Yep!  You're right, Papa John!    It's in Genesis 45:5  "Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life."

    Pat:  I remember Judy  telling me about your Dad's licence plates.

    Ruth Ann:   Do get well

    My printer is acting up so I must go the the shop and see if I will get it repared or purchase a new one.  What I would really like is a 3 in one unit but cost is the reason right now and even at that I am not sure what make to even consider purchasing,

    Blessing and have a great day.

    Chris, what a joy to see you popping in here and posting.  I'm glad that you had a few hours rest and I'm sure that as I told you about when Jack had his out, it was about Day 7 or 8 that he started to be able to tolerate the pain more easily so you're on Day 7 now, right?

    WE'RE GOING HOME TOMORROW
    (Click to hear music)

    Willing rather to be absent from the body,
    and to be present with the Lord.
    2 Corinthians 5:8

    Words: Mrs. E. W. Griswold
    Music: Philip P. Bliss (1838-1876)

    We're going home, no more to roam,
    No more to sin and sorrow;
    No more to wear the brow of care,
    We're going home tomorrow.

    Refrain
    We're going home, we're going home tomorrow,
    We're going home, we're going home tomorrow.

    For weary feet awaits a street
    Of wondrous pave and golden;
    For hearts that ache, the angels wake
    The story, sweet and olden.

    Refrain

    For those who sleep, and those who weep,
    Above the portals narrow,
    The mansions rise beyond the skies—
    We're going home tomorrow.

    Refrain

    Oh, joyful song! Oh, ransomed throng!
    Where sin no more shall sever;
    Our King to see, and, oh, to be
    With Him at home forever!

    Hi everyone,
    It's a beautiful sunny day here in Kansas today. Those cute air freshner plugs my dh bought for our house make it smell so wonderful. I almost thought I smelled fresh apple pie this morning. LOL. Makes me want to bake.
    Jason has a conference call at work this morning. Pray for our friend Barbara who put her back out and is in a lot of pain. I feel so bad for her.

    Janet- I hope you feel better soon and get over your food poisioning quickly.

    Ruth Ann - i do hope you are feeling better soon and the dizzyness stops.

    The boys are playing today. I taught Dalton how to count to 100 (surprisingly he didn't need my help much) and then we worked on shapes. Karsten and I have to work on reading and math today and then we should be caught up.
    It's hard because sometimes with my bad days I just want to take time off and now I have to make up for that. LOL.

    Anyway, not sure what to cook for dinner tonight, just maybe something with chicken.

    Have a great day all.

    Hugs,

    Hi everyone.  For some reason this has been a very busy day and I am just now getting here to read messages.  I am worn out so am just going to write a couple of things and then post some photos I worked up a few minutes ago.

    Janet, sure sorry to hear of the food poisoning.  I have never had that but my poor wife and grandmother had it in July in Oklahoma back in 1964 when we were expecting our daughter.  Pat had been basically ordered to stay in bed as was having some problems and my grandmother had come to stay with us to help with our baby son.  We had over 30 days of 100 degree weather and we had no air conditioning back then.  Needless to say it was a memorable time for us all (in a most unpleasant way).

    Karmat, a dessert auction is one where you go and pay $5 each to enjoy a dessert of your choice.  Then there were many items dontated mainly by members of the congregation plus the youth selling services such as babysitting or yard work as a fund raiser.  They were having both a silent auction and a regular bid auction.  The trip is going to cost around $10,000 and this is a major fund raising event to help the youth on their mission trip.

    Judy, it is good to see you posting again and to read that your arm isn't as painful.

    Please forgive me for not commenting to each person today but that is going to have to wait for another day.

    Nice to hear from you Larry!
