Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Well, my friend came to load my old lawnmower into the back of her van and head off to Home Depot.

When we got there, we found that the "special" offer was only effective in May and was no longer in effect.   The special offer was that if you brought in your old gas mower and bought an electric one, they'd give you something off the price of the electric depending on the price of the one you chose.

Well, my friend, Michelle and I really insisted telling them that our big store here in Guelph had almost refused to sell me a lawnmower last night due to the fact that the Home Depot had such a great offer on.

I told them that since my shoulder surgery, I just couldn't pull the gas lawn mower to start it.

Well, guess they got fed up with me so phoned the store manager!

He came up and maybe just to get rid of me, said that he'd let me take advantage of the offer and so they allowed me $50.00 for my gas mower and I bought a Black and Decker electric.  My old gas mower was bought second hand back in 1987 and didn't owe me anything so today was a good day!

Then I went to Nicolas Bell's home (his wife was who took me to Cambridge) and showed him how to upload photos onto his new website.

Nicolas has looked at Christian Photographers in the past days and decided to join.  He will only have time when he's not flying around the world as a flight attendant.

So, please welcome Nicolas.  He's a very, very good friend of mine.  He's certainly been a gift from God to me in the past few years.

A good friend of mine on SeniorNet sent this to me in an email.

A LIVING BIBLE
(Author Unknown)

His name is Bill.  He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it, jeans and no shoes.  This is literally his wardrobe for his entire four years of college.  He is brilliant, kind of esoteric and very, very bright.

He becomes a Christian while attending College.  Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative Church. They want to develop a ministry to students, but are not sure how to go about it.  One day Bill decides to go there.  He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his T-shirt and wild hair.

The service has already started and so Bill starts down the
aisle looking for a seat. The Church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer to the pulpit and when he realizes there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.  (Although perfectly acceptable behavior at a college fellowship, trust me, this has never happened in this Church before!) By now the people are really uptight and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the Minister realizes that from way at the back of the Church, a Deacon is making his way toward Bill.  Now the Deacon is in his eighties and has silver-gray hair, and wears a three-piece suit.  He is a godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very courtly.  He walks with a cane and as he starts walking toward the boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what he's going to do.  How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.  The Church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane.  All eyes are focused on him.  You can't even hear anyone breathing.  The Minister can't even preach the sermon until the Deacon does what he has to do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor.  With great difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion.  When the Minister gains control, he says, "What I'm about to preach, you will never remember.  What you have just seen, you will never forget. Be careful how you live.  You may be the only Bible some people will ever read!"

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today, to guide you and protect you as you go along your way.  His love is always with you, His promises are true, and when we give Him all our cares, you know He'll see us through.

Often during the day, I might be heard humming a hymn or trying to sing it.  Many times when Jack used to preach, he'd request that I go along and sing and this was the hymn that he requested most often.

I do hope and pray that it will be a blessing to you as well as you read the words carefully and appreciate what the Lord has done for us.

Not what these hands have done
(Click to hear music)

Not what these hands have done
Can save this guilty soul;
Not what this toiling flesh has borne
Can make my spirit whole.

Chorus:
Thy work alone, my Saviour,
Can ease this weight of sin;
Thy blood alone, O Lamb of God,
Can give me peace within.

Not what I feel or do
Can give me peace with God;
Nor all my prayers, or sighs, or tears
Can bear my awful load.

Thy love to me, O God,
Not mine, O Lord, to Thee,
Can rid me of this dark unrest,
And set my spirit free.

No other work save Thine,
No meaner blood will do,
No strength, save that which is Divine,
Can bear me safely through.

I praise the God of grace,
I trust His love and might;
He calls me His, I call Him mine,
My God, My joy, my light.

Thank you Pat for the music.   I am happy to hear you got a good deal on your electric mower.  They were saying that the electric ones are better for the environment.  I guess you have to watch the long extension cord that you don't run over it.

It has rained here and cooled everything off.   Thank the Lord.

I'm watching CNN for more coverage of the Reagan ceremony.  I was touched by Nancy when she was rubbing her hand over the casket.  It seemed like she didn't want to leave it.  She has been a good and loving wife for many years.

Welcome Nicholas to CP.  You will enjoy it here.

Well I have to go to work early tomorrow.   God Bless

Love Ruthie

I was walking along a road yesterday, beside a planter full of impatiens (sp), and was startled by a hummingbird. It looked much like the one in the welcome to Nicholas.  My what you see when the camera is not at hand.  I will try and see if I can get a picture of one but you know what happens with the best laid plans!

That is a beautiful hymn Pat.

Welcome Nicholas.  Take your camera and see if you can take pictures of the places you fly to!

Blessings to all

Pat

If you click on the link (which isn't easy to see in my post), you'll see many photos that Nicolas took in India last week of the Taj Mahol (sp?).

WOW!

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day.  Getting ready for a vacation (I won't be here for a couple of weeks).  I am looking forward to getting away but at the same time am already dreading my return to work.

Talk to everyone another day!

Al Moak

Thank you for that hymn, Pat.  It's definitely one of my favorites.  That's different music to it, but the words are what matter.  I too am glad you got the new, discounted mower.  Now it you could just get someone to mow for you!
The leg is slightly better, swelling heading downward slowly.  It's the first encouragement I've had on it, so I definitely thank our Lord.

Pat

Al, I'm so very happy to read that your leg is a bit better.  Praise the Lord for that news!

Now, it's time to lock the door.

Talk to you all tomorrow.
