Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Let us please remember to pray for Christian websites across the internet and at this time, especially let us remember the Administrators and Moderators of the Christians Corner which was severely hacked last evening.  I was on the site and saw the devastation and I wept.  I won't forget it and I prayed for the owners and for those in charge.  It seems as if they will get some of it back but lots was lost.

Oh, we have so much to be thankful for here at Christian Photographers.  We've never had this happen and we pray that we never will.

Ceramic Miracles

"I will praise You, 0 LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works."
Psalm 9:1

Scientists who are working on newer and better materials out of which to make things are concentrating their attention on ceramics. Ceramics do not break or wear as easily as other materials, including metals. High temperatures don't cause them to weaken. Some ceramics have even shown the promise of bringing about another revolution in electronics. Ceramics have one major problem. They are difficult to form into usable parts. Sometimes they are also too brittle to work well as machine parts.

Nature, on the other hand, regularly custom-forms ceramics for the most demanding duties. The ceramics made in living bodies include teeth and shells. Living creatures bind inorganic crystals into a hard, custom-fashioned ceramic that is both strong and much less brittle than manmade ceramics.

Taking their cue from living things, scientists have successfully made stronger, less brittle ceramics patterned after biological ceramics. The new ceramics offer great promise in designing radical new electronics. Perhaps most dramatically, one version has served well as artificial bone. The body even accepts the ceramic as though it were true bone!

Modern science has gained some wonderful knowledge. However, modern scientists have learned that to solve an engineering problem it is better to learn how our wise Creator solved the same problem in the first place.

Prayer: I thank You, Father, that You have given me my body with all its wondrously designed parts. Help me to take good care of it as a gift from You and raise it back to life in the resurrection of the dead. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Worship: Made to Worship
The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt,
they have done abominable works, there is none who does good.
--Psalm 14:1
Now we were made to worship, but the Scriptures tell us something
else again. They tell us that man fell and kept not his first
estate; that he forfeited the original glory of God and failed to
fulfill the creative purpose, so that he is not worshiping now in
the way that God meant him to worship. All else fulfills its
design; flowers are still fragrant and lilies are still beautiful
and the bees still search for nectar amongst the flowers; the
birds still sing with their thousand-voice choir on a summer's day,
and the sun and the moon and the stars all move on their rounds
doing the will of God.
And from what we can learn from the Scriptures we believe that the
seraphim and cherubim and powers and dominions are still
fulfilling their design--worshiping God who created them and
breathed into them the breath of life. Man alone sulks in his cave.
Man alone, with all of his brilliant intelligence, with all of his
amazing, indescribable and wonderful equipment, still sulks in his
cave. He is either silent, or if he opens his mouth at all, it is
to boast and threaten and curse; or it's nervous ill-considered
laughter, or it's humor become big business, or it's songs without
joy.  Worship: The Missing Jewel, 6-7.

"Oh loving God, bring us out of the cave! Amen."

Pat:  What a great surprise for you with the birthday party!  And, you think that you may get another puppy?  How neat!  We so often wish that we could get a puppy but this is not an easy area to have a dog and so we just enjoy all of the children's dogs.

Sorry about the people who hacked into your system.  They must need a prayer badly.

Here, we have much to be thankful for in regard to Don's medical check-up -

"God is always present within each of us. Together we create a heart connection of genuine, sincere sharing of intentions. We need not strive for mutual agreement. We look at the issue or the activity that needs to be addressed without blaming or trying to force one another to change.

Coming together with peace-filled hearts, we live in divinely inspired harmony. "

when kindred live together in unity!"

I have posted the above portion of the Daily Word Devotiional, because it struck my heart so deeply. Remembering the past life and the many times my self esteem was completely destroyed by the people in my life. I am so thankful to my Father in heaven for restoring me and my self esteem. That will never happen to me again. I am wearing my breastplate of protection.

Yesterday was a great day.  Judy, classmate Judy, and I ate at the new restaurant in Lapel, the Mardi Gras.  I thought it was Italian food but I had a Macho Nacho.  They have salads, sandwiches and pizza but nachos sounded good and was great.

Today is my luncheon with my other girl classmates.  I know four are going....hopefully many more.  It will be fun hashing over old times and renewing friendships.

Today is cloudy and predicting rain and some storms this afternoon.  I watered the flowers with some rain drops hitting me once in a while.  But the weathermen has predicting rain every day for the past week and none has came to help the plants so I watered anyway.

Good Morning

Pat what a wonderful birthday surprise.

We have yet another hot and steamy day ahead of us so I will be spending most of the day indoors, I do have a small errand and then back home to do the necessary chores.

Hi everyone.  I didn't get to CP yesterday and thus missed wishing Pat and Alan a very happy birthday.  Pat, it sounds like you had a great time and a nice surprise.  That was thoughtful of your family to give you the money towards the cost of a companion for Geordie.  Hopefully you will also have him with you for many more years.

We are expecting rain here related to the tropical storm.  So far just a few sprinkles but the forecast for the next several days includes rain.

Pat and I went to Kohl's Department store as she needed a new roasting pan in which she could put a baking rack.  They didn't have anything with a rack but she found a pan that was big enough for a baking rake she has to fit.  It just did and she says that will be just fine.

I am feeling rather tired today so plan on a quiet day and a nice nap this afternoon.  I have a lot of things to do here at my desk but it will wait until I get to it.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Janet

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAT!! I didn't forget, but as you know, I have been away all week.  A new puppy sounds like the perfect gift for you, but at 10, Geordie should have several more good years keeping you company.  He will enjoy a little buddy, too, I would think.

What a week I have had!  ;D :o ::)  My painting class was wonderful, as usual; and I got three things finished and another nearly done, so it was a productive as well as a fun time.  We have basically the same people each year, so we have all become good friends through our painting association in this once-a-year class.  Our instructor is so much fun; has a terrific sense of humor besides being loaded with talent and understanding of the principles of art.

The downside was that the tiny town of Fowler was devastated this week by rain, tornadoes and hail!  Baseball sized hail!  Dee and I stayed at a bed and breakfast in the country about 4 miles north of town, and we sat in their galssed in porch/dining room and watched the storm.  Out there, they had only some pea to marble sized hail, but 5 1/2 inches of rain in a short time.  Their electricity was out all evening and all night, which meant no water (inconvenient) and her cook stove is also electric, so instead of the lovely breakfasts she had been making for us all week, yesterday we had Cheerios! (Aren't you  :'( for us by now?)  hehehe.
Anyway, on the way into town yesterday morning, the DOT had put up a barricade blocking my lane of the highway, which was totally dry in that section, no water across the road in sight---and I barely saw it in time to swerve to miss it---causing me to almost go into the opposite waterfilled ditch--then swerved back and slid sideways and backwards into a deep ditch filled with water.  :-[  I opened my door and we were high-centered right up to the door.  I got out and saw the car was up to its headlights in the water; with the rear end way up!   >:(  No way would I ever have gotten out of that predicament without the help of a kind farmer and his sister who saw the whole thing and stopped to see if we were all right.  He told me afterward that he just knew we were going to land in a tailwater pit full of water, which was only a few feet from our stopping point!!  God is so good!  I was praying the whole time we had that wild ride--only seconds but seemed longer!

The man had a chain in his pickup, but his was a little Toyota and no way could it pull the PT Cruiser out of that hole; another guy stopped with a larger pickup, his only spun; so the first man went to a farm place and came back with a huge John Deere and up came the Cruiser!  God bless John Deere!  ;)  I left the engine running the whole time, about 30 minutes, and learned later tht is the right thing to do as it kept water from getting into the crankcase.  There are no dents or scratches on the car, but I do have some of that county's mud and grass packed up under my front fenders!  ;D  The guys wouldn't let me pay them, so I asked if I could give them each a hug---they liked that!  ;D  Such kind young men, they must be Christians.  I got their names and will write them a nice thank you card and note.  About an hour after we got to class I started shaking and it took hours to settle down, but I am SO thankful the car didn't roll over!!  Praise our wonderful heavenly Father for always being with us to protect and guide us!

Oh, yes----about a mile further down the highway, the water was running across the road about 6 inches deep---no sign of a barricade or any warning there! ???

I got home really exhausted, sat down to look at the paper and noticed the write-up about Relay for Life.  Then I remembered I had pledged to walk an hour!  So I ate a bite and went to town, picked up my friend Pat and we went and walked for an hour for Relay for Life.  The exercise was good for me as I hadn't done as much physical exercise this week.  I came home, took a hot shower (I had gotten chilled walking an hour in the rain) and slept really well.  And isn't all of this just fasciinating?  ;)

Anyway, I am home again.

Janet, you scare me.  :)  You always sound so calm.  I'm glad your near miss wasn't a total hit!  That would have probably completely undone me.

Marilyn, I like what you posted.  Especially the line about not blaming or changing.  It is only through Jesus that people can put themselves aside and do what He wants.

Going to try and do a family portrait today -- if we can get both kids happy at the same time ;).  I'll post it later, if it is halfway presentable.

Pat -- I think another little dog would be a cool idea.  How would Geordie act?

Pat

Ohhh, Janet!  That's so scary.  I've been waiting for you to get home.  I always miss you when you're away.    Thanks for the belated birthday greetings.

Geordie would love to have a companion, Karma.  He's one of the most sociable dogs I've seen.  Loves other dogs.

Marilyn, thanks!  It's great to have our armour of protection on for sure.

Hi Carol.  Yes, let's keep praying for these other Christian websites.  It was certainly awful for Christian's Corner.

Larry, please don't get overtired.  Glad you got that nice roasting pan for Pat.

Etta Sue, you've certainly had some great times with Judy.  That's neat.

Yes, Ruth, it certainly was a surprise last evening...a really nice one.

What a great devotion from you too, Chris.  Thanks so much.

Well, I have several little errands to run.  So I'll be back later.

With that we have ah had  a garage sale the last 2 days and did pretty well I think  :'( however we are NOT KEEPING the money as we are going to give it to a CHILDREN'S HOME here in the area so ... they have a little something this summer ... so we have also been working on cleaning & fixing up the old house so that we can get it up for sale and sale it before WINTER comes back this year !!

GRANDMA ETTA -- I am leaving from YOUTH CAMP tomorrow and will be gone all week so MOM will not have to worry about getting me up every day ... so I also did very well with my grades ( some what ) and, I did get awards in: BIBLE, COMPUTER APPS, HONOR ROLL, MONEY MANAGEMENT so MOM was proud of me too & I hope that you are too.  Koshka is doing well and so here is a picture of him that mom took and so hope that you can see it ( look below ) as you can see he was acting silly !! He was also HIGH on KAT KNIP at the time that MOM took the picture of him !! We hope that you can come back up & spend some more time with us this summer before I have to start school again in August. Love & Hugs, Kalyn

Hmm ... what else is new ?  Well we will be taking sometime to go out EAST to visit my family in NH this next month so I will be away from all of you in JULY sometime !!  But, when I return I will post and hopefully have some pictures to share with all of you !!

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers!  Pat some birthday messages were left for you at Christian's Corner as well.  Also, John (the admin there) left the following message in response to the greeting from this site that Al Moak posted on our board.  I thought you all may want to read it, it says

"It is amazing to me, all the people who have been praying for us and sending us well wishes. I am so grateful. God is so awesome! "

I think everyone feels this way as well.  We are really blessed to have you guys praying for us, and I do pray that such a thing never happens over here! We may have lost many posts there, but we have much to be thankful for as well.  The board is up and going again, and we did not loose our photo albums, they were all left untouched!

Janet

Teresa Dawn, you all must have been doing something right on that board, to get the devil so worked up he would do such a thing to the site.  I pray it never happens again!

I have caught the laundry up, changed the bed, exchanged a shirt for Diane, written a reunion newsletter, done some matting, caught up with mail (almost) and helped Darrel pick the cherries.  Did I leave out anything?  Probably.

We have Bing cherries this year!!!  Boy, are they ever G-O-O-D!! ;D  Darrel has eaten so many he is about to make himself sick; he just told me I'd better keep him out of them for a couple days! :-\  We also have Royal Annes almost ready to pick.  We had to get the Bings off the tree before the birds ruined them.

Oh---I also went to visit an elderly couple (she is one of my painting students) who are both having terrible health problems.  Neither of them is able to do hardly anything, they need help.  So I have offered to go in and work a couple hours or whatever it takes, each day, clean and cook for them, do the laundry, etc.  They said they will talk it over, pray about it and let me know.  They can't afford assisted living, and they do not want to go to the care home.  I would love to help them stay in their own home as long as they can.

I want to call Abby and catch up on her news.  See y'all later!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I have been working around the house this morning. Then, got a call from Cleveland "we must have 15 graphs prior to Monday." So, went in and did them.

But, because it was on my vacation, and I have to stay off all day Tuesday to have put-to-sleep dental surgery, I've been told to count the time worked today (plus driving time to and from work) as a full day for Tuesday. Thank God - no more sick days used up.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

TeresaDawn

Thanks Janet!  I am praying it won't happen again as well, and that it will not happen to you guys ever.  Have a great evening all!

Pat

Teresa, I just tried to get to Christians Corner and get a "critical error".  Is everything ok?

I'm praying...

Now it's time to lock this door and open our New Every Morning for the Lord's Day.
