Oh, goody!  I get to be the "firstest" today! 

It is still Thursday, but getting late and I need to get to bed.  My two friends just about shopped me out today.  I'm not a good shopper, well, I'm good, I guess, but I don't last too long at it.    We didn't get back home until after 6:00.

I did get the last photos I took with my now dead camera printed, though.  So that was my main reason for going along.

Papa John, prayers continue for you and Cornelia.

I remember the day of my redemption.  It was a Friday the 13th!!  And my two eldest daughters were each born on a Friday the 13th!  So who says Fridays the 13th are bad luck??  Not me! 

I think I am getting the tired sillies, so goodnight!

The photos that I thought were missing were by Awakenedheart and where Gerber Daisys.  I only noticed it when I saw the latest one she's done in red, and missed her other ones.  She is really gifted with her photo taking.

lute, sweetly played, and quite another thing merely to hear about

And it is one thing, we may add, to hear truth inwardly for one's
very self, and quite another thing merely to hear about it....

We are turning out from the Bible schools of this country year after
year young men and women who know the theory of the Spirit-filled
life but do not enjoy the experience. These go out into the churches
to create in turn a generation of Christians who have never felt
the power of the Spirit and who know nothing personally about the
inner fire. The next generation will drop even the theory. That is
actually the course some groups have taken over the past years.

One word from the lips of the man who has actually heard the lute
play will have more effect than a score of sermons by the man who
has only heard that it was played. Acquaintance is always better
than hearsay.  The Root of the Righteous, 99-100.

"Lord, as I wait upon You this morning I want to hear afresh the
real sound of the lute. Deliver me from second-hand preaching and
teaching. Fill me with a first-hand knowledge of You, so that my
message might always be that of an alert eyewitness. Amen."

Just a note this morning. We are taking Cornelia to the doctor this morning. A man came last night to take an x-ray of Cornelia's lung. She may have to have fluid drawn from it this morning. We are encouraged sometimes and discouraged sometimes. She is not having the pain she had for so long which is encouraging. I am dreading the trip to the hospital because she is so weak. Thanks for all your encouragment.

Papa John We all are continuing to pray.  I pray the doctors are able to do any procrdures with the minimal amount of invasiveness as is possible.

I have to go to town today and have a lot to do before I leave so I am off and running.

I am trying to spend less time on the computer in preparation for  an upcoming 10day fast from all entertainment. Although CP is not entertainment. Beginning 3/12 our whole church will be turning off TV's, Radio's, handheld games etc. Nothing was said about computers tho' our Pastor has an online business. But since I spend so MUCH time on the computer  doing various things  I have decided that for me spend LESS time on the computer will be a good thing. I didn't say I would completely be off the computer tho'. I just won't be on as often.

I do remember my salvation but I do not remember the exact date just that it was in November of 1997.

I seem to have slept a little better las night that I have been. I received the results of my last trip to the Sleep Clinic, but I need to get someone to tell me what it means.

Good morning!  Darrel and I went and worked out, then took some stuff by the Sr. Center for their garage sale tomorrow.

We had an additional $19.99 charge on our phone bill.  It was to Verizon, for unlimited long distance, and when Darrel called to dispute it, they told him that I filled out the form online and signed up for it.  That was just a pure lie; we have long distance with our local phone company, pl.us cell phones which supply far more minutes than we EVER use.  So I called today, was told that the form was filled out on Jan. 4.  Ah-ha!  That did it!  We were in Mexico, far away from our computes on that date!  They wouldn't admit they were wrong, but did agree to cancel it.  But they said we would have to pay the $19.99.  So........I called our phone company, and was told this happens a lot.  She said most people don't really check their bills, and that one lady, just this week, asked why her bill had been so high lately.  She checked, and she has been being charged that extra for almost a full year!  I think this is just terrible; theft is what it is!  But they (our Pioneer Telephone Co.) are going to deny the charge on ours, said just to ignore it.

I told that long story to warn all of you to CHECK THOSE BILLS!!  CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF $$$ they are stealing from ussuspecting people.  Disgusting.  And now..........Janet steps off her soapbox.  (Aren't you glad?)   

Janet I also have Pioneer long distance on my phone, I have made long distance calls and they have not been on my poineer bill yet and I don't know why not.

I'm going to see me sister today, so please pray for me that I will be able to handle it.  Also my husband (Terry) has been feeling poorly since November (2 ER trips) but so far no answers.  He has an appointment with a cardiologist on the 23rd.

Hi everyone.  Actually getting here to post before bedtime.  We have such a beautiful day here and have had the house open a bit although it is only in the 60s.  The flowering Bradford pear trees are now in bloom as are the early spring flowers.  Some of the grass is greening up.  I am ready for spring.

This was a busy day.  I have to go to the Senior Center at 7 am on Fridays to unlock the door and get the coffee started.  When I got home Pat and I had to go to two grocery stores to restock the cupboards and will eat well for a few days now as we have lots of food in the house again.  However, that wore us both out and a nap was in order. 

I am still working on a number of webpage updates that are needed.  There is always more to do at the beginning of the month.  It is not hard but just takes time.

Janet, I have heard of a number of problems with telephone companies just starting to bill people.  Don't you just love it when you are told you "must pay" something when you didn't generate the charge and knew nothing about it.  If they were reputable they would have immediately removed the charge.

Papa John, hope the hospital visit went well and it was too exhausting for Cornelia.  While having fluid removed is far from pleasant it will help her if there is excess fluid.

Pat, it is good to be home and I missed not being able to get here each day.  Thanks for the devotional today.

I had a dear friend who wasn't a christian.  She had a serious case of epilepsy.  She accepted the Lord at a youth retreat on the twenty forth of May 1965.  She went home to her parents and asked them which side of the door they were on.  She sang this chorus.

One door and only one
and yet the sides are two.  
I'm on the inside
on which side are you.

I went to live in N Ireland with my sister, And what a wonderful year that was.  Anyway back to Margaret, we received notice the end of November that Margaret had died during a severe epileptic seisure, exactly 6 months to the day of her becoming a christian.  I can't wait to see her again!

I still tear up as I think of the awesomeness of the grace of God and how he held her in his hand..

Oh, you lucky people in the southern areas, getting spring blossoms already!  We won't see anything like that for weeks yet.    

It was supposed to be a working morning today, but everything I was needed for was finished by 9:30.  So I only got an hour and a half in rather than 4 hours.  Ah well, so be it.   

Another chilly day, only got up to about 20 this afternoon, but the sun has been shining and the sky such a fantastic shade of blue!

I'm so sorry that you're having a tough time with Cornelia, Papa John.  We love you both so much and I'm praying for you.  It's so difficult being in this situation.

Pat:  It is good to see that you are posting more often now & I trust that you are feeling better.  Thanks for all of your good work in putting together this CP and so many daily devotions. 

Larry:  Either going or coming home can be so tiring and to have to do groceries and so many things to catch up on - whew!  We are going to visit overnight tomorrow with our youngest son & his wife & I have been trying to catch up before we go out of town next week.  There is a big pot of chicken soup in the crockpot - wish I could bring some over to you and Pat. 

This week has been one of many phone calls to relatives and friends and I have enjoyed it so much.

Hello all!  Just bouncing in for a bit.  Our weather has cooled back off some, but today was stilll a be--u-tiful day.

Not a lot happening in this part of the world.  The kdis are both mainly better (praise the Lord) and everything is getting back to "normal" (relatively speaking).

The medical supply company called me a little while ago to go Monday morning to be fitted for my CPAP mask and toi get my machine. Praise the Lord now maybe I will be sleeping a lot better.

Boy, they sure try to get you.  I've never signed up for PayPal but I just got a notice that their "certificate" (whatever that means) has expired but did I want to continue anyway.  Continue with what, I wonder? 

There's a lot of spam out there with regards to PayPal which used to scare me as I use it all the time but now I know that PayPal never sends you an email asking for your password and their letters always say your name and never, "Dear PayPal User" or whatever.

Jeanne I got a popup like that when I was still on AOL asking me for all kinds of information, It wouldn't go away either, So I called Dell and had them talk me through wiiping everything out of my computer and reloading it. I was so scared that someone had gotten my information  or hacked into my computer and got hold of my info.
