Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Hi everybody.  I have been sitting here at the puter reading some really funny emails to John and Rick.  Laughter is good for the soul.  The rain has continued.  That is so good.

Pat I am sending an online birthday card to Kathleen through Janice.  I will do that tomorrow.  Make sure Janice checks her mail at some point.

I am tired, and I think I will head into bed, Rick will be leaving early, he is heading to VA this trip.

Night all, and God Bless.

Judy

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee at the Cafe.  We had only 5 men there today.  The man I usually pickup to take to coffee is Eastern Orthodox and they had a church service this morning.

Janet, glad to see you back and sorry I had your activities mixed up.  Glad you had such a nice time painting and that it was relaxing.  You may have to lay the law down to Beth that she must recognize the blessings of where she is and the care she receives and to accept that she is going to be where she is.  However, know that would be a hard thing to do.

Pat, happy birthday.  You are just a little ahead of me in age.  Thanks for the devotional today.

Al, fortunately they can do something about the carotid artery problem.  My father had a bypass done on his as his blockage was very severe.  I think others have an angioplasty type of procedure done.  I hope you all have a wonderful trip for the graduation.

JudyB, I had never heard of using fish oil in a chemo situation.  It is something to keep in mind.

Anthony, it is hot here also.  Glad you enjoyed your time in the garden centre.

Marilyn, how long will it be before your DIL knows the results from her state boards?

Hope everyone has a very nice day and weekend.

Al Moak

Thanks Jane - you're a dear soul.

Larry - thanks for your info. I'm hoping for the plasty, and I suspect that's what it'll be, as the blockage is not severe enough for a bypass - and she's apparently had it just like it now is for a few years.

Well, got to get busy getting ready to leave here Tuesday early AM.

God richly bless all.

Marilyn

Good Mornng everyone.

Larry I don't know how long it takes to get the results from Sarah's state boards but she is supposed to start work at the local hospital in July and he her liscense in her hand at that time.

I looks like it is going to be a beautiful day here today. I got the lawn mowed yesterday because it is supposed to rain again this weekend. This morning before  go to work I am doing Leroy's laundry for the last time. He is interviewing  a lady today to be his new caregiver.

This afternoon I will finish cleaning my house and get my self prepared for tomorrow, clothes  etc.

Have a great day of celebration Pat.

 Happy Birthday Pat! What is it ...28, 29?  <3 Have a blessed day everyone, especially you Mrs. Pat!

JudyB

We have a house full of sickies and as a result we are staying home from cadets today.  Melaura has been battling this flu for a week now and I just found out that yesterday finished her.  She doesn't like to give in to the flu, and doesn't tell me as a result what is going on.  Bed for her!

John can finally keep food down.  Thank you Lord Now he has to regain strength.

It is another cool day but it is dry.only +10, but that will give the garden a chance to hold all the rain we had.

I am off and pray God's blessings on everyone here.

Al Moak

Pat, do you actually have birthdays?  Please be aware that they may be detrimental to your health.  So you should have as few as possible.  In fact I've long considered that maybe it would be best to advance in age only once every ten years or so.  Nevertheless, if ya have to have one, then let it be known that we celebrate you coming into the world - we're glad you're here, and we commemorate the event and pray God's greatest blessing upon it!

:) :) :)  Pat's older than I am!!  Pat's older than I am!  :) :) ...........by a whole nine days!!   HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR PAT.  I LOVE YOU  <3 .

I have been busy playing catch up, but have done well.  Got all the laundry caught up, kitchen cleaned, photos taken of Darrel and me, and cropped to 2 x 2 inches, filled out our Visa request forms and have that all ready to mail on Monday.

Now we are getting ready to go pick up Beth and head for Dodge City to pick John up from the airport.

Larry, you are so right.  Beth has to realize that she just cannot come home, not now, anyway.  They have had to catheterize her twice this week, and I'm wondering about her even being gone long enough for the family reunion.  :(  I'm hoping having John around will keep her mind occupied for these next two weeks, then for sure she can't come home, because on July 30, we are leaving for China and will be gone for three weeks.

Darrel decided we'd better just GO NOW.  He got to thinking about Beth, and about his being sick twice lately, and said we need to go now while we are able.  So we are going.

JudyB, I hope all of your "sickies" are soon up and at 'em again, and that you will all stay well.

Hello, Anthony!  8)

Marilyn, did Leroy say anything about your quitting?  Does he know the reason?  In my opinion (for what that's worth!  ;)) someone should speak to him in plain English about his behavior.  I guess I missed your post about your new clients.

Carol, how is the foot feeling?  I hope you're doing better each day.

Darrel found the kittens!  Well, Dinah moved them, then he found them.  They are so cute, one dark gray, one whitish with dark gray ears, muzzle, tail and feet like her.

I need to go soon...........TTYL.

Happy, happy birthday, Pat. May God's richest blessings be with you this year.

I got to attend campmeeting last night - and a dear friend rode the 70 or so miles each way with me to enjoy the evening, too. So, we had good conversation, some laughs and corny jokes on the way down and back, but the singing and the preaching were marvelous.

After I find time to retire, I would like to spend the entire week there just soaking up the love and friendship from lifelong friends and also to bask in God's love and worship Him with the singing and twice daily messages from two godly ministers. Last night was really healing to my spirit.

Y'all have a good afternoon, and Pat, don't have any more birthdays till next year!!!  ;D

Janet

Ruth Ann, it is so good to "hear" you sounding better!  And I'm very happy you got to go to campmeeting last night.  God knows exactly what we need and when, doesn't He?  :)

We are back from Dodge, and John took Beth back to the home in the van.  He will spend some time with her there this evening,  working with her new computer that was installed this week.  She is having some trouble understanding it because it's different from her old one.  I'm happy he can help her with it.

John can check Beth out whenever they want to go do stuff and then check her back in at night.  This will give me a little break.  :)

My eyes are really burning, think I'll go find some drops to put in them.

See you tomorrow!  ^-^

Anthony

Well, I missed posting completely yesterday.  I must wish Pat a very happy birthday, though I agree completely with Al's sentiments :D

I was looking at some digital slr's yesterday in the photography shop.  They seem to  have some good deals on, but I have such a lot of old type slr's I am finding it hard to justify the extra expenditure.  I will have to think about it.

The devotional for today and yesterday was a great encouragement. Just to have ones mind directed to those scriptures was a great blessing, so thanks for that.

Today I have missed the morning prayer meeting so will make sure we both get to tonight's meeting.  It is getting hotter and hotter over here.  See y'all later.

Anthony.

I had a pleasant suprise this morning when I went over to the Outdoor Photographer magizine site. I had submitted a couple photos to the "favorite places" section of their site, and lo and behold there was my shot of devil's bridge!

Hi everyone.  Another beutiful but going to be hot Sunday here in Georgia.  We are beginning to suffer from a lack of rain.

Smokey, congrats on the publication of your photos.  That is quite an accomplishment.

Janet, so happy to hear you are going to make the trip to China and that you also will have some relief during the next two weeks with John here to look after Beth and take her places.  I hope she begins to feel comfortable with her computer.  Is it a laptop?

Anthony, it sounds like you have a lot of camera equipment.  Hope it doesn't get too hot there.

JudyB, sorry to read that you all are sickly up your way.  Our daughter has had the flu for well over a week now.  Fortunately, so far both Pat and I have avoided it.

Ruth Ann, glad you were able to attend the camp meeting and see old friends (and probably make some new ones).  It was nice you had someone to go with you on that long drive.

Al, after going through a couple of near death experiences I decided I will welcome each and every birthday.  It is surprising how quickly the years pass and what aging does to us.

Marilyn, thanks for the information I requested.  I expect it won't take too long to score the exams and get the results out in this day of computers.

Hi Ritz.

Hope this is a great day for everyone.  We will go to Sunday School and church this morning and then out to lunch and then a quiet Sunday afternoon.  Pat I hope you had a great time at your birthday celebration yesterday with your daughter.

Al Moak

Smokey - I realize you didn't publish this, but be it known to all that that gorge along the Columbia river is Oneonta Gorge, not Oneonate or something.  I've hiked it many times.  The whole gorge is wonderful - many fantastic waterfalls.

Larry - I agree about the speed with which years come and go.  And there are no brakes.

Janet

A beautiful and blessed Lord's day to each of you!

Larry, Beth thought she wanted a laptop, but we advised against it.  She is so weak I'm not sure she could lift one; also her coordination is poor, she is a "hunt and peck" typist, and since the keys of a laptop are so small, we thought it would just frustrate her.  So we got her a regular computer but a wireless keyboard and mouse.  She agreed that will be a better solution for her.  Thanks for asking.

Smokey--I'm not surprised they published your photo---it is wonderful!!  Have any of you ever considered how many natural wonders are named Devil's this or that?  Lots of things in Carlsbad Caverns have devil in their names---and then there is Devil's Tower, etc.  Sort of sad, in a way, since all are God's creations.  Thanks for giving us the link---I really enjoyed your photo, now I have another place on my "want to see" list!  :)

We are ready for Sunday School and had a few minutes.  I tried doing without the sleeping pill and was awake until 5 AM.  So I hope tonight I can sleep more, still without a pill.  I just don't want to become dependent on them......

We have missionaries speaking at church today, so are looking forward to that!

Good Morning to one and all. This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. I have been recruited to go to the front and pray throughout the service. I will sit at the side  wall by the altar on one side and there will be two more people on the other side. We do this every Sunday  so this is just my turn.

I did not come back in and post yesterday after work. I did come to read a few times.

Janet I would love to go to Chine with you can you fit me into you suitcase? I is good to hear tat John is there to look after Beth and give you some relief. Have a great time at the family reunion.

Larry it is good that you and Pat have not caught the flu from your daughter, I too have been blessed to not catch it from the various people I have been in contact with who were sick.

Judyb I pray everyone is getting better at your house. With that stomach flu bug a lot of the ones here have found relief by drinking Ginger tea or some other Ginger concoction they bought at the Health food store. It is some kind of a drink. Also Eating Candied Ginger. Ginger settles the stomach when it is queasy.

To make Ginger tea you get the fresh Ginger root and slice a piece off and bring it to a boil, boil for 3 minutes let it steep as it cools. Sweeten with some honey.

Smokey great photo.

Good Morning Everyone...

I must say "Thank you" for all of your birthday wishes.  I had a really good time up at Janice's and got home very late last night.  Went right to bed and not today, I'd love to stay in bed longer!

Smokey, congratulations on having that photo on their front page!  Wow!  That's great!

Good morning ... I really, really did plan to post yesterday (and the day before, and the day before that) but I have just about worn myself out around here.    :-\

Pat, I was off looking for a suitable graphic to post for your birthday and (1) never found one and (2) didn't get back here to even say Happy Birthday ... sorry.    :-\  I hope it was a very special day for you and that you thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue to have the same sort of enjoyment throughout the year ahead.    :hbirthday:

I have been working around my place in an attempt to keep up with everything so I don't have to hire someone to come in and do it for me.  Yesterday I weeded and cleaned up the yard and flower beds -- did it in 1 hour stints -- then I cut a stack of firewood -- need it smaller to fit into my stove -- and then I used the weedeater to cut the grass all around my place.  I have to make sure I don't get in the sun too much and I also have a terrible time with roseacea whenever I exert myself even the least bit.  You should have seen my face by the time I decided I'd had enough!   :-[  I had to just collapse in my recliner for the remainder of the day and evening.  Add to that the swelling and pain in my left ankle and foot and the fact that my back felt like it was broken and you get the picture!  LOL.  It really ain't all that fun and games getting old(er) but I'll take it.   ;D

I'm just taking it easy today, and enjoying the result of my efforts.  My yard looks nice.  And I did it all by myself!

Smokey (Glen) I really love your photo ... I have been in and around Sedona AZ but, of course never ventured out on any hikes.

I won't try to respond to everyone at this time 'cause I'm afraid I'll miss something that I really wanted to say ... Just be assured that I read everything and love all y'all  and pray for each request.

Y'all take care and I'll be back ... Promise!!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Carol

I tried to remember what was in the posts but had two phone calls during the reading time and..... :-\

Don is on his way to stay two nights in the mountains at eldest son's cabin & I hope that they have time to go fishing.

Pat:  I know that you must have enjoyed your weekend away.
