Morning Devotional...

John 20:24-29.  "Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.  The other disciples therefore said to him, 'We have seen the Lord.'  So he said to them, 'Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.'  And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them.  Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, 'Peace to you!'  Then He said to Thomas, 'Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side.  Do not be unbelieving, but beliving.'  And Thomas answered and said to Him, 'MY LORD AND MY GOD!'  Jesus said to him, 'Thomas,  because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.'"

His voice was just above a whisper, and he trembled.  In an entirely worshipful way he said, "MY LORD AND MY GOD!!!"  This is the way "Doubting Thomas became a believer.  It was his moment of true and complete faith.

Each of us needs moments like that.  Each of needs that first moment of real acquaintance with the Son of God, a moment in which all that He is bursts upon our consciousness with force enough to move us to profound worship.  In fact we need many such moments - moments in which Jesus Christ means much more to us than the long list of benefits His salvaton supposedly brings.

Does He mean that to you right now?  Are you filled with awe and wonder, love and joy - as you contemplate your Maker and Lord?  May it be so!  May it affect your daily life.  Amen.

Hi Al,

Thanks for the good, encouraging Word.  And yessir, He does fill me with AWE, WONDER, LOVE, & JOY!

Yesterday I preached about the promise keepers--no, not the men's group--The Recabites, from Jeremiah, chapter 35.  What a contrast between King Zedekiah (chapter 34) and the Recabites.

As He fills me with awe & wonder, I pray that I listen and do what He expects me to! <3

Anthony

Thankyou for the devotional Al.  It's good to think abouit how God reveals himself to individuals.

We had a loud thunder storm from 5am this morning, so not much sleep last night.  I hope things will be a bit clearer this morning

I have a busy day today; my mother is 86 today so I hope that the family will come down for a while - my neice is here already.

See y'all later.

Anthony.

Anthony, I see you said "y'all" in your post.  Interesting.  Do they speak that way in southern England?

This may be my last post until Friday night or Saturday, as we're leaving tonight or early tomorrow morning.  Our son is driving us up to Olympia, Washington, where we'll be 'til the graduation is done.  Then he's driving us back.  I think I like this taxi-like serivice!

Marilyn

Good Morning Al I see you are up bright and early how do ya like this rain today. Thanks for that great devotional this morning. I have always like the  story of Thomas and his unbelief.  He had to see to believe.

Good Day Anthony good to see you here too.

Well I will be back in a bit.

Al"  Thanks for the nice song "Majesty" - The piano playing in these songs always sounds like an average church piano player which is very comforting.

:coffee: Fixing coffee - I do remember years ago when I made perculator coffee & had to watch the stove & now it is to merely press a button.  Somehow, you miss the sound of the perking coffee but the aroma is still there today.

I was awake until almost one A.M. and just lazy today to sleep in until 7:30 A.M.

Janet:  I hope Don is drowning worms as well - but they usually use some flashy rigs.

Marilyn:  Whopee - your rent is able to be paid.  Great news.

Anthony:  Happy Birthday to your mother!!!  Enjoy this day.

Carol

Rain is good.  God sends it to wash and refresh His Earth, which is, after all, our home.  However, in the normal course of events, this is not the rainy season.  However, in looking at the national weather service website this AM I see that there may be much cloudiness and possibly a little rain for the next week here.  I'm always glad to know that our God knows (better than we do) what He's doing and is doing it well.

Please pray for us.  Our son has an idea that it takes much less time to get here and back to his place up in Olympia than it actually takes.  I am hoping he doesn't exceed the speed limit too much, but I don't see how he could avoid it in order to arrive back home in the time he's allotted himself.  So please pray that our stress level will not exceed what it should.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It was really hot and steamy here yesterday, about 94 degrees and it appears today will be the same.  Our plan today is to stay inside as much as possible.  Fortunately the calendar is clear today and I don't have anything this week until choir practice Wednesday evening.

Al, thanks for the devotional.  I hope you have a great trip north and remember if your son gets a speeding ticket he will have to pay it, not you.  I do hope he doesn't get such a ticket.

Marilyn, glad you got the rest of the rent you needed.  Sure wish we would get some rain as it is very dry here.  One of the local counties banned outside watering to conserve.

Carol, I hope you enjoy your quiet time with Don away.  I also hope he has a chance to fish and that the fish are biting.

Anthony, hope your mother has a wonderful day with family around her as she celebrates her birthday.

Hi Keven.

Janet, it sounds like you made a wise decision as if the keyboard gets dropped it can easily be replaced and it would be very easy for a laptop to get dropped.  I hope the computer works out well for Beth.  It certainly would be a good way to occupy her mind if she is up to working with it.

Jane, it sounds like you about did yourself in with all that work.  However, it sounds like you accomplished a lot.

Pat, glad you had such a nice day for your birthday.  Please rest up from your trip.

Janet

Good morning!  Like Carol, I was awake until past 1:30, and having had only two hours' sleep the night before, I gave up and took half an Ambien.  Then I slept until 7:30.  Consequently, I didn't make it to exercise this morning.  I really need to get back at it.

My morning has been spent running errands, a Monday kind of day.  ^-^

Anthony, please tell your mother HAPPY BIRTHDAY for me.  I hope all of her family come to visit today.

We are trying to decide whether to leave on Wednesday or Thursday for the reunion.  Mostly it depends on Beth's "bathroom situation."

Carol, I figured your guys used fancy flies, etc. to fish.  Do they do fly fishing?  Here we have only ponds and lakes, so use other types of bait.  I hope they have a fun and relaxing time.

Larry, good you can kick back and relax today.  We all need days like that at times.

Marilyn and Al---PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SEND SOME OF THAT RAIN OVER HERE TO KANSAS!!  We are drying up out here!  >:( :(

We are going to eat beef tips and noodles at the senior center today, and it's almost that time.  See you later

Hi all!  Just trying to scurry around and get some stuff done.

laters!

Anthony

It's 7:45pm here and the visitors have all gone, but my neice should be here in about half hour or so - she may stop for the night, she hasn't told us what she's doing.  It's really hot here.  Today was the start of the Queen's Tennis Tournament in the capital and some of the spectators had to be carried out as they were overcome with the heat.  That's very rare in the U.K.

Al, I got that y'all thing from Christian Photographers.  I'm just thankful that none of you have picked up on my slang - it sounds horrible I must admit.  BTW, I do trust that your long trip  will go according to plan.

Marilyn, we had a lot of rain today too.  My neice got up before 6:00am to water her plants.  When she finished the storm came and drowned just about everything.

Carol, thanks for the birthday wish.  That cup of coffee looks great.  I might have one myself later on.

Larry, I'm glad you can take a bit of a break for a couple of days.  Overdoing things in the hot weather is not such a good idea. Thanks for the birthday wish.

Janet, I'm sorry to hear about your lack of sleep.  I didn't think I was doing too bad with my sleep, but my doctor is sending me to see a sleep therapist to see if I can get a bit more hours.  I'll pass on any knowledge that I glean if you like.  My neice has just come with her boyfriend to see her grandma so I will have to pop down now.

God bless Karma, I hope that the family is doing well.

See you lot later (English way of putting it)

Anthony.

Etta Sue

Hi, I'm baa-aaack!!  I got back home around 7 p.m. last evening but I couldn't get online with my High Speed Internet Service!!  I called them and said a line was disconnected so the DSL Phone Service man came this morning.  He disconnected a couple of wires and reconnected them at a thingy in my yard and when he came in I had internet service.  But the window saying it couldn't connect was on the screen so he knew that I didn't have internet service.  He also made some changes.  It seems my connections were set for dial up instead of Broadband so he changed that and some other things that he said would cause me problems if they weren't changed.  And these are suppose to be professional troubleshooters and setup people!

Then this afternoon I called CoreComm.  No, they haven't gotten my letter yet.  I mailed my payment to Discover the same day and it is already posted on the internet that it is paid!!  So I told them I was calling them every morning and every afternoon until I know they got my letter.  THEN I went on CoreComm.com or whatever and clicked Contact Us.  It seems that on my original paper of May 11th, the person I talked to gave me the wrong suite number.  I have been mailing it to suite 420 and their website says suite 320.  So I printed another letter and addressed another envelope.  I then got in my car and went to Lapel Post Office and mailed it by Proof of Delivery at the cost of $4.55!

It seems things aren't going just right for me lately.  I think I need to get on my knees and talk to God.

As far as Ohio goes....I didn't go to the graduation...I stayed home with Lydia who missed her last day of school because she had a fever and was sick to her stomach.  We went to the Dance Recital on Friday.  Saturday it rained so the baseball games were cancelled.  And Sunday was church and in the afternoon was the Graduation Open House for Edie.  A great weekend.

Glad to be home.

In a hurry so won't proof-read this.  Sorry for the typos!

I can't believe that today everything worked great in the sewing room and I was able to machine embroider some tea towels without a gremlin grinning from the corner.  Also, had news that a quilt I am having machine quilted because it is huge, is ready tomorrow - also, a foot doc appointment moved up to tomorrow.  So many things are clicking along today.  Don is having a super time in the hills and he returns tomorrow.  He reports that the whitewater is running fast & many kayaks & rafts going down the river.  Still, we need rain just as Janet needs her rain.

Anthony:  Yes, let us know your tips on sleeping through the night.

I just realized that it is almost 4 P.M. and I forgot to eat breakfast and lunch.  Just so wrapped up in projects.

Etta Sue:  Good luck with your connections & dealing with any Customer Service.

Janet:  Wishing you a very good visit at the reunion.  The guys will probably take the boat out on some pretty good sized lakes.  Or, Don can go and bank fish by himself.  He just enjoys everything = he is so easiy to please.  None of us do much fly fishing - I am too impatient to fly fish - do like to practice casting though.

Al:  Some of the worst drivers I know are pastors.  There is one in Denver who has crumpled many a bumper and more since he races back to Kansas at who knows what speed & manages to hit deer more than your average driver.  None of us can believe it.  But - I know that we feel uncomfortable riding with two of our children - and son-in-law.  I did tell our SIL that he was a fool to tailgate and go so fast in the mountains & he did get a ticket for "road rage" for following too closely.   ;D  He probably doesn't change his habits.

Hi Y-all just running through her before I take the dogs out for a walk before it starts to rain again. I got some grass seed from the landlord and  threw it out back and some along the side  where the other people had one of those tent garages.

Be back later.

Etta Sue, please tell me again, are you with CoreComm or Earthlink?  I need to delete one of your addresses, as I don't want to send you things to the wrong one.  Thanks.

Thanks to those who looked at my new photos.  I have more to do, but wanted to be sure I'd done those right.  (How soon we forget.)

I hope Al and Marbeth have an enjoyable and SAFE trip!

Hi there, Karma!  Keep breezing through and greeting us, so we will know you are okay!  :)

Nothing interesting to say, so I will go work some more.  I actually managed to take a little nap this afternoon---it felt good!  8)

We have finally got over (I pray) the flu.  We were away for dinner last night, and had a wonderful time.  Our friends have a home ice cream maker.  The icecream was delicious, with lots of different kinds of berries.  To day we had a job to do away from home.  We got that done then spent some needed time with the executive director of Open Road Chapels.  He and his wife are good long time friends and live only 2 hours aaway.

Marilyn thank you for the ginger tea recipe.  We didn't know that and wound up drinking ginger ail.  It seemed to work especially after the fizz was gone.

Janet take care.  You need more sleep.

Talking of sleepp I heard on the radio that if a person has a habit of only 4 - 5 hours sleep a night the will gain weight.  I guess I had better get the required 7 - 8!!!

Well must go will talk later tomorrow.
