    Morning Devotional...

    Psalm 13:6.  " I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me."

    It's wonderful to have at least one true friend, a friend you can count on to be there when you need him.  Having such a friend can be a real source of comfort, a real reason to have confidence even in the face of sorrow and trouble.  And that peace and comfort are even greater if your friend is powerful and wise.  You know that, no matter what, he's all you need in your corner.

    David was having one of "those days" - when everything seems to be going wrong and when there seems to be no end to the troubles.  He's desperate.  In fact, he's become aware that if it goes on much longer he's going down - for the last time.  And his friend hasn't shown up yet.  That Friend, in his case, is God, and David's beginning to wonder whether God has given up on him.

    But then, suddenly, he has a thought.  God has always been faithful to hinm.  He's shown David His love and care even when David knew very well that he didn't begin to deserve it. Then, just as suddenly as these thoughts of God's past faithfulness came to him, he couldn't help drawing a wonderful conclusion: God wouldn't fail him this time either!  He could hang on to the very end.  He could say, "but I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation!"  So, reflecting on the absolute certainty of his wonderful Friend, he could confidently say, "I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me!"

    Dear friend - when you're down and almost out - remember your best Friend, the Friend Who has never failed, the Friend Who, at one and the same time has all power in heaven and earth - and loves you!  He will care for you no matter what your predicament!  Confess any and all sins, call on your Savior, and TRUST Him!Al Moak

    A mighty fortress is our God
    (Click to hear music)

    A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
    Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:
    For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
    His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
    On earth is not his equal.

    Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing;
    Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God's own choosing:
    Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
    Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same,
    And He must win the battle.

    And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
    We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:
    The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
    His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
    One little word shall fell him.

    That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
    The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth:
    Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
    The body they may kill: God's truth abideth still,
    His kingdom is forever.

Hi everyone.  Have a few minutes before having to leave for morning coffee so will post for today.

Janet, it makes one very angry when people want to have dogs that are so aggressive and pets or children and sometimes adults are attacked by them.  That was a terrible experience for Abby and her little firend to have to endure and then for Beth to have to have this additional lose in her life.  I certainly feel for you all.

Al, that was a fine devotional for this week.  God never fails us even though we may lose sight of him he doesn't lose sight of us.

Carol, glad you had such a great weekend and are home safe.

Etta Sue, it was about 84 here yesterday and I had to turn on the A/C around 4:15 as the humidity was high also and it was just uncomfortable.  It is to be in the 80 for the next three days and little chance of rain.

The Golden Olympics ladies were here yesterday afternoon for 2 hours and we got a lot of little details worked out.  They left me with a few corrections and also 15 new applications.  This is going to be the largest Senior Games this group has ever had in our county.

Not much on my schedule for today so will work on a few projects that I have been putting off.

Marilyn, you sound like my wife when the weather is damp as she fixes her hair and then it loses it setting when we leave the house and it is wet or too humid outside.  This is a problem men don't have to worry about.

Hi Sarah, glad to see you checking in.

Marilyn

Janet: I too am praying and crying with Beth, you and the little girls.  {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}

Wonderful Revival going on at my church. There were so few there last night that they told us  for tonight to each bring a friend. Just our regular prayer warriors group was there maybe 30 of us.

My new bed is being delivered today so I am busy washing  my electric bland, quilts and  mattress pads. I think I will have them leave the plastic on both pieces, I can always take it off later if need be. i do have to buy new deep pocket sheets to fit the mattress.

Thank you, Al for the devotion!

Janet ~ I am so sorry for Beth, Abby, Darrel and your loss.  I just don't understand why people have animals that will attack other animals or possibly people.  Thank God, the girls were okay.  Janet, do you happen to have a good photo of Mieka?  A framed photo for Beth might help her in her loss.

I walked outside today.  Today was trash day so I started my walking at my brother's drive and then walked several trips up and down my driveway for 20 minutes.

I am baking a meat loaf right now.  The house smells sooooo good!  I looooove good meat loaf and of course, mine is always gooooood.  ^-^

JudyB

Oh Janet how sad.  KNOW you and yours are in my prayers.  I am speachless.

We had a wonderful service yesterday.  After service we had a quick trip tp a friends to have him check out the brake cable in the van.  The van felt like the emergency brake was on, RPM's were high and I was seeing the gas gage go down.  Turned out that he couldn't find a problem, but he must have done something as the van was working better when he was done.  It was rather confusing, and I didn't want anything damaged.   All's well that ends well.

I have to go back to school work, I will tell you about the service later.

JudyB

My this must be a busy day for everyone.

Sunday's service was amazing.

A dear friend was charged with a criminal offence and last Thursday was sentenced.  He got 3 months house arrest, and 3 years probation.  This was a BIG answer to prayer.

On Sunday he took time to talk to everyone about what happened and why.  He reminded us that to sin is a choice and we often think we are in control of our life and "The Sin", but the sin takes over our lives and our lives spiral out of control.  Derek apologized to the congregation, asked for forgiveness, and talked about how this all happened.  Pornography is such a deceptive thing, and the individuals involved are convinced that it is a victimless sin.  But it so quickly takes over.  Garbage in, garbage out.  There is no such a thing as a "little sin" or a victimless sin..  God has delivered him, his family is restored, his parents, wife, sisters, and children have forgiven him as well.  He now has a relationship with his father which he has not had in the past.

When he finished speaking, one of the elders took the opportunity to have an alter call.  Many of us went forward for prayer.  Pastor Jeff has a short sermon on bible promises.  With each promise we have a responsibility to do our part.  If we humble ourselves and pray, then.......  If we accept Christ as Saviour then.....  If we call on His name then he will show us great and mighty things.  We want the great and mighty, but how many of us actually call on His name?

As our pastor saiys, someone knows a brother or sister is involved in sin, we need to put an arm across the sholders and help that person to face the sin and get right with God.

This is just a brief rundown of our service.  Most of the congregation were in tears.  On a side note my friend's son "8" went to the washroom and got her and I toilet paper for our eyes.  Not just a little bit, he had a handful waded up and handed it to her,  we both chuckled over that, turned out that we needed it after all!

Have a good day folks.

JudyB

Thank God for someone who saw the true seriousness of sin!  And thank God for the courage to confess it publicly.  And, finally, thank God for His total forgiveness!

Hi everyone.  It looks like I will be the first to post today.  It was overcast and a bit foggy this morning but the sun is burning through now and it is suppose to warm up again today.

This afternoon I have to drive my wife over into the city to have a CT Scan done.  The facility is about an hour from where we live.  She has been having pain in the back of her head so the doctor wants to check that out with this can.

We had a wonderful evening last evening.  Our good friend, Rod, and his wife invited Pat and I to join there family to eat out with a Korean couple that were staying at their home the last couple of nights.  They had met her many years ago and had paid for some of her training with Precept Ministries (Kay Arthur) years ago and been good friends ever since.  Both she and her husband are pastors and she started and heads the Precept Ministry in Korea.  They were delightful people and she spoke wonderful English.  His was a little broken but you could understand him.  We went out to eat with them and then to Rod's home for dessert.  We visited and laughed until after 10 pm.  I don't know when I have enjoyed an evening more.

JudyB, I takes a strong person to stand before a congregation and make a confession as the young man did.  I am glad that things are working out well for him.

Gord, hope your volunteer work goes well.  I am sure you will enjoy it.

Etta Sue, meatloaf is one of my favorite dishes as well.  Hearing you describe it almost made my mouth water.

Marilyn, hope your new mattress is very comfortable.

Marilyn

Good Morning Yes Larry I slept very well last night. I didn't get home from church  until after 10pm and when I finally went to sleep I didn't wake up until
5:03 am I got up and I feel very good this morning. I have already been to Curves and back. The  bed might be too high for Happy to jump up on. I don't think he has tried yet but I will be getting a set of doggie steps soon, I don't want either of them to get hurt jumping on or off the bed.

Now I am going to go do my dishes and finish getting ready for work.

Janet, I'm so sorry to hear about Mieka.  The loss of a pet hurts.

Marilyn, I'm so glad that your new bed has meant that got a great night's sleep.  I will have to be looking at the purchase of a new set in the near future.  I am just delaying as long as possible.

Now must get going.  I need to phone the Vet's office and make an appointment to have my dog checked/treated for heartworms.  I received a letter in the mail yesterday.  Then must get back to work.

JudyB

I had a rough night last night.  We had hotdogs for dinner, and we didn't read the label.  They contained garlic, and I have a violent reaction to garlic.

The snow is just about all gone.  There is some patchy snow here and there, but for the most part we see grass.  Too soon to mow though.

Having Mom here is really great.  There is less consern with her here.  We do a lot of laughing together.

Gord it is always good to see people unexpectedly!  I just found out that they were back from Florida.  They had a good trip.

Well I am off. I may not be back.
Continuing to pray

Each of us go through trials. and often a praise song catches our spirit, and that song ministers to us.  With my friend this was the song.  I wish I could attach the music, it is wonderful.  This song catches the Holiness of God.  I find far too often we look at the love of God and forget His other attributes.  Enjoy, and have tissues ready as you read.

Holy God
Brian Doerksen (2006)

"As I withdrew to pray for direction in the first days of the year ... I was surprised by a strong and burning desire for the holiness of God that filled my heart.  I was drawn to the book of Revelations where it describes the worship that is going on constantly in Heaven ... and in the center of this worship is the declaration that is going on forever ... the 'Holy, Holy, Holy'.  It's as if the angels, saints and all the heavenly creatures know that at the very core of who God is ... is His holiness.  Everything about God emanates from His holiness ... and every action of God is motivated by His holiness.  As I meditated on the Scriptures ... I realized that I wanted to sing it ... actually 'want' is too weak a word ... I had to sing it! ... and so I spent some time singing every 'Holy' song I could think of ... and they all were good ... but they didn't quite satisfy my hunger to sing the 'Holy, Holy, Holy' ... and so I walked over to my piano and began to sing those words with a new melody, like a simple chant.  And pretty soon I was in tears as I sensed the presence of God.  For the first few days all I sang was the chorus part ... just the 'Holy, Holy, Holy God' and it was all I needed.  Then after a few days, I realized that I wanted to declare the core of His character and answer the question "What are the actions of a Holy God?"

When we think of a 'Holy God', we would think He would keep His distance from us and our world ... polluted with sin and impurities as it is.  I think one of the most amazing things about God is that this God Who is perfect and holy, draws near to us to forgive, redeem ... even to the point of sending His only Son, the "nail scarred Lamb" to pay the price for our rebellion.  But He doesn't stop there!  His goal is not just our forgiveness, so we can become His loyal subjects and servants.

Our God has the heart of a husband.* He is actually 'romancing' us!  When I use that word, I am not referring to the sweet, selfish, sentimental concept that is popular in our culture.  I use the word in the biggest, grandest God sense.  He is the one who created 'romance' which is intended to be rooted in the 'forsaking all others' union of marriage to be a source of blessing and revelation.

At the end of the song, I chose to use the image of "The Lion's mighty roar" because I wanted us to be clear that the One romancing us is not someone small and cute that we can control (like a domesticated house cat); He is awesome, intriguing and fully in charge (like C.S. Lewis' Aslan).  Our love relationship with God will never be tame and safe because we can't predict and control Him (He is after all HOLY, HOLY, HOLY!), but we can trust our great Romancer because He is good."

Hi everyone....sorry I have not been around for awhile. Was chatting to Pat a little earlier and she was going to cuff my ear or something for something I had said to her. She left me with the order...POST! So here I am....still a little low after my Dads death. Anyway.....told Pat I had an annoucement to make..so here it is!

A short while ago I dropped a personal note to most members here to get to know you all better. Most of you replied to me and I thank you all for doing that. Two people from here..not including Pat...have chatted to me on MSN. One of those persons is Jeannine; our good friend and sister here. As you all know; Jeannine has been going through a hard time but she is a very generous and kind person and has helped me through a few tough times including the death of my Father. We have became close friends and have quite a lot in common. These include photography; painting and drawing; poetry; music and a love of nature and gardening. We also love and serve the same Lord and Saviour.

We have decided to combine our talents and make our own website. The work has been in progress for awhile and there is so much more we want to do on it but we feel we have done enough at the moment to be able to launch it. Hence this annoucement. All you here are the first ones to offically know about our site. I do hope you visit it and be so kind to sign our guestbook if you wish.

I know Jeannine will be coming in after me and she will give you details of the url and probably put the link on her post so you can visit us. Thank you for taking time to read this. God bless

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around, been really busy with hubby since surgery and he is not progressing as well as he would like.

As Colin said we have been supportive during our difficult times and have found many interests in common. And we have done the website. The url is http://www.colinsfaithinspirations.com

Thank you for all your prayers. God Bless you all!

Still Trusting,

Wow ..... These last three posts have really revolutionized my day!

First, JudyB, I thoroughly enjoyed your post, the song, and the explanation for it ... Thank you so much for sharing it.

Colin and Jeannine I have visited your (new) site and I applaud your efforts.  I plan to revisit there often.   :thumbsup:

Marilyn, thank you for the link to the new article about Kawika.....  As was noted, "he went out doing what he loved most" ... just too sad that he couldn't have continued to do it for another 30 or 40 years.  :(

I read here often but am not all that "talkative" these daze so have not posted a lot.  I may or may not rectify that soon, who knows?   ::)

I love you all (and all y'all) and pray for the many needs mentioned as well as rejoice and smile where appropriate.  Y'all take care and I'll be around.   :) <3

Hi Jawin' Jane!  I agree totally with you about the last few posts.  I thoroughly enjoyed reading JudyB's post.  And Colin and Jeannine's website is a must to visit often.  And still, it is so sad to read about the diver's loss of life.  He should of lived another 30-40 years.  If his photography was as great as it is in two years...just think what he could have done in 30-40 years.  Thanks Marilyn for posting the update.

Kitty and I took our photos to Kokomo.  Ours was the first to arrive.  We ate at Chili's and I even have dinner from the to-go box I brought home with me.  We stopped and visited with one of Kitty's high school classmates who is having surgery next week.  I met her once before but didn't get to talk to her much.

Kitty and I decided that Indiana is a great place to live...weather-wise.  We had a very mild winter until February.  The month of February was the coldest February on record.  Then March warmed up with lots of rain which has made the grass that beautiful grass green.  It is 79°F out there right now.  Wonderful...no jackets needed and I wore my sandals today!  Yep, one month of cold weather for a winter isn't bad at all.  Even the two feet of snow wasn't bad either!

And Jane, we never see too many of your posts so post away!!

Colin and Jeannine I have also been to your website and tried to post in your guest book. I don't think it took. It is sure cold rainy and windy here today. I zipped up the front of my garage/tent so I am praying that it doesn't' blow down again. I won't be parking the car in there tonight and it is supposed to freeze. Drat!!

 :) Hi to all. What a beautiful day it has been the weather has been so nice and the sky has been blue all day long it has been worth waiting for.  My first day at the mission doing volunteer work was very much an eye opener as there are so many people with so many neads and so much burdens that they are carrying around so God has given me an oppertunity to go there and hopefully cheer up someone and make them laugh but most of all talk to them about the Lord. ;D

:D Larry: As I have just said it was aneye opener at the mission and thanks for your encouragement.

Marilyn: It sounds very comfortable hope that you enjoy.

Judy b: Thank you for what you have posted it is beautiful what you put into  words. I think that I remember that you had a problem with garlic a long time ago. How often is John home?  Look after yourself.  Love ya. <3
Ruth Ann Bice: Praise the Lord he contiues to answer prayer. Stay healthy.

Anyway, I wish you both well and pray that the Lord will be honoured and His name will be above every name in all things.

By the way, thanks Marilyn for the link!  That's indeed so very sad.  I'm truly sorry about this diver.

I've had a close friend pass away.  She was our councillor for our ward here in Guelph and she fought a hard fight with brain cancer and it took her on Saturday evening.  So today I was printing some photos of her and took them over to the family for the memories table at the funeral parlor.  I'll go there tomorrow evening and then the funeral is on Thurs. morning.

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon when I expect to get the results of my tests, etc.
