Good evening all!  Just been trying to clean up the house today.  Can't tell that I've made a lot of headway though.  Such is life, I guess.

NEW LIFE IN SPRING

Hear the whisper of the breeze
Sighing softly through the trees
Rays of sunshine kiss my face
Fleecy clouds above me race
Dancing in the soft blue sky
Where soar the singing birds on high

Fresh green leaves trees adorn
Cuckoo calls from early morn
Busy bees on the wing
Listen to the blackbird sing
See the beauty of the flowers
Watered from fresh April showers

Brightly glistens morning dew
Blades of grass a greener hue
Spring is here, cold days are gone
Each morning now a brighter dawn
Skipping lambs; just newborn
Pink small flowers on the thorn

Cherry trees are out in bloom
Also flowering gorse and broom
Rabbits frolic without a care
Fragrant smells are in the air
Hedgehog stirs from winter's rest
Mother bird builds her nest

Sunny days are sure to bring
Life renewal in the Spring
I thank God that I can see
Nature's beauty surrounding me
God in mercy and in love
Sends us blessings from above

Days of Spring bring life anew
God will give new life to you
Hope eternal it will spring
If to Jesus you will bring

It's been a busy day at work, but I left almost on time and enjoyed leftovers from yesterday's dinner. So, no cooking tonight! 

The sweet lady who was so afraid of not having a peaceful death passed away this morning. She was peaceful and resting well, then simply went to sleep.

sorry that so many have pain and not feeling well. 

And, so many are cold.

Just touching base, we have had cousin & husband for two days, they left today and before, friends for day and a half.  Tomororw, we are alone.  Wednesday, another cousins & husband come for a night & part of a day.  It is windy and warmer here and we will probably freeze driving home in another week & half. 

Hi, Kids.  We are just home from Amarillo, rather frustrating day.  Will tell you about it tomorrow, must get myself to bed now.

Colin---lovely poem, gorgeous photos.  Your garden and surroundings are so beautiful, and as Ruth said, so nice to hear your voice reading the poem.  Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Hi everyone.  Thank you Marilyn for the Birthday card and Samantha thanks for the special wish.  Today is my 67th birthday.

I was greeted by a card on my computer keyboard from my wife when I went into my office this morning and before I left for coffee our daughter called to wish me happy birthday.  She had just gotten to her job but wasn't time for her to start work yet.  We have a meeting to attend today and then the group is going out to lunch as it is an anniversary meeting.  We are going to City Slickers, one of my favorite places, and on your birthday they give you a free lunch up to a certain value.  So I am looking forward to that. 

At the cafe this morning the fellow I pick up each day not only gave me a loaf of pumpkin bread his wife had made but also brought a loaf sliced up to share with everyone at our table and then with the owners and a few other people we see at the cafe each morning.  He also bought me a breakfast sandwich so this has already been a special day.

They are predicting rain for us later today and tonight and it is to be in the 60s.  Right now it is chilly outside and rather damp.

Happy Birthday Larry.  I hope you have a most pleasant day!

Kinda gray here in WNC.  Makes  it hard to get up and go, but get up and go we must.

Karma How did Soni's  son do after his surgery I don't remember if we got the update or not?

Not much going on here today, I need to mow, the grass is getting long already even though it is wet. My client's Gardner mows  ever Monday even in the rain.. So today after I take the dogs for their walks I will mow.

Have y-all seen what is going on in Berkeley re: the Marine Recruiting office? Geez what is this country coming too?

Maryilyn, the last I heard, he had come home and was doing pretty good.  I haven't heard anything since then.

Marilyn, I don't think I've seen anything in the news about Berkley or the marine recruiting office.  Saw something about the marines in Toledo Ohio, but nothing your way.  What's going on?  And sorry about missing your birthday last week

New Life in Spring

Colin ~ I have forgotten to mention how talented you are in making your movies and creating your poetry!  Your last movie reminded me of a valley in Hawaii!!

Our weather people missed again.  We were to have 6" to 10" of snow over night but I can still see blades of grass in the yard!  That's two in a row that they missed.  People are going to stop listening to them.  Then we will get a big time snow fall!! 

It is predicting sleeting and rain this afternoon.  Would rather have snow.  Needs to warm up to do that...only 19°F now. 

Today is Euchre which is always fun. 

I have been putting things out so I won't forget to take them to Florida.  Little things like changing purses, charging batteries for my two cameras, getting out suitcase and over night bag...the furgirls know something is up!

About yesterday---the automatic equipment on Beth's van had been acting up and being balky when it did work, since last summer.  We took it to Amarillo in November, but they didn't have time to work on it then.  We got there yesterday, and what do you think?  Everything worked PERFECTLY!!  I was so aggravated I walked over and kicked it on a tire.    Well, phooey.  800 miles, on two vehicles, with $3.00 gasoline, plus a whole day's time, for nothing.  Today I can be thankful we didn't have any expense for repairs, at least if it continues to function right.  Oh, well, we did a bit of shopping, and visited Darrel's Mom, anyway.

My computer is really acting up today.  Hope I can get it sorted out.  If not, Larry, I might be calling you, but not on your birthday. 

What Marilyn referred to is that in Berkley, they are refusing to allow Marine recruiters on campus. 

Re the Marines in Berkeley - they don't even want them to have a recruiting station downtown.

Re Colin's poem, et al - I echo Jane, because I too have dialup.  I tried to get DSL, but they don't have it in our area yet.

Janet - I hope you're not complaining left handedly about $3 gasoline.  It's $3.43 here in our area.

Yes, I have read about the Berkley protests.  Sad.  I read the LA Times and New York Times most days.  (on the internet)

Time to go and eat my dinner soon.  Did ironing all afternoon and my daughter brought down a dinner for me.  Pineapple chicken, rice and a salad.  Yumm!!  I am back to doing things again, thank goodness.

I miss Judy B's posting.  Always an interesting read.  Guess work takes most of her time now....along with a zillion other things.

I was also wondering about Zackery and hoping that things have improved since the operation.   What a brave young man.

Did anyone tune into the Grammy Awards?  I felt like it was a visit to another planet.....other than the classical and country parts.  Those were the parts I watched!
