HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY.

Kristi has a dr's appointment today -- her 3 year well baby check up.  Cast and all.  :)  She was supposed to go to the orthapedic doc as well, but they moved it until tomorrow.  Hopefully, we can get the cast off then.

Have a great day all.  The starting gun is getting ready to go at the Shuford house.  Take care!

Etta Sue

It is going to be a busy day.  60 Chix and then packing.  I won't be here after today for awhile.  So y'all behave!! :clobber:

The weather forecast says a slight chance of snow tonight and tomorrow morning until noon.  By noon I hope to be in Tennessee!

And by Sunday morning I hope to be going to Kaye Don and Barb's church in Bradenton.

The word and act of "binding" comes from for one, Matthew 16:19.  However, in its context this verse has to do with Christ establishing the church on earth and does not reference Satan nor even one demon.  The other "bind" reference is from Matthew 18:19.  Again, to properly understand what this text is talking about, we have to look at it in its context, Matthew 18:15-20, at least.  This is talking about church discipline and doesn't even hint at getting Satan to stop his evil ways.

Did I just stir up a hornets' nest? ;D

Kevin, I have a friend (minister, author, teacher) who has been teaching on these scriptures for more than 20 years!  She often says "If, after all these centuries of christians bindinng the devil, how come he is still stomping around and bothering folks?"  She asked one person what she did with him after she bound him ... the answer: "I just send him back to hell where he came from" ... How's he going to get there if he's bound?    :-\

Also, my friend researched the words "bind" and "loose" in the original Greek/Hebrew and found a whole different meaning than what has been assigned to those words.   :)

I gotta get out of the way of those hornets now ..... see ya!

A Rose Says,
"I Love You!"

This is the day when so many folks around the world tell their loved ones that they love them. Have you told him today that you love him? Have you told her? Or what about the little ones? They all need to hear those three words, "I love you!"

But what a wonderful thing if we did this every day! As you leave each day for your place of work, tell your wife that you love her. As he sets off on his journey to his place of work, give him a hug and whisper those words that he loves to hear, "I love you!" Maybe you could even leave a note with those words written on it in a snack for the children. And your Dad and Mother both need to know, too, that they are loved. Phone them or write them a wee note today and simply say, "Mum, I love you! Just wanted you to know!" or "Dad, feel like a coffee? Let's meet and I'll buy you a one today. Just wanted to let you know that I love you, Dad!"

We all need to know that we're loved. Go and tell someone that you love them now. It's so nice to hear those words.

The greatest gift ever was the gift of love that we're told about in John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life".

O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus

Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:39

Author:  S. Trevor Francis, 1834-1925
Musician:  Thomas John Williams, 1869-1944

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
in its fullness over me!
Underneath me, all around me,
is the current of Thy love
Leading onward, leading homeward
to Thy glorious rest above!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
spread His praise from shore to shore!
How he loveth, ever loveth,
changeth never, nevermore!
How he watches o'er His loved ones,
died to call them all His own;
How for them intercedeth,
watcheth o'er them from the throne!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
love of every love the best!
'Tis an ocean full of blessing,
'tis a haven giving rest!
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
'tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
for it lifts me up to Thee!

Jane, I thought of you as I read Kevin's post. :)  I knew he wasn't stirring up a hornet's next near you.

And not here, Kevin.  I believe exactly as you have posted. In fact, the Holy Spirit showed me that when I first became a Christian, but being in church, looking at others, being taught what "everyone" believes, it's easy to begin to doubt if you heard Him.  I'm so grateful, so eternally grateful, that our Father is so willing to teach us His truth, the Ways Of The Kingdom, if we will quieten our hearts, be teachable, and willing to turn aside for the clang of error if we are led by the Master.

Thank you for sharing what you have been shown in silence.  He loves to reveal His Treasures of Wisdom and Knowledge; doesn't He?

You've blessed me this morning.  Nita

Janet

Thanks, Kevin!  And Pat, what a nice song/video about love, for this Valentine's Day.  I have heard three differing accounts this week of the origin of Valentine's Day.

I showed my husband my love today by helping him pull wire again.  We got all the hard part done!  He was so tired when we came home he could barely go.  I'm so glad to be able to help him.

The Home is having a Valentine party at 3:30 and Beth wants me to come.  She told me to bring my camera, because she is hoping to receive roses from John.  ^-^  He sent her a pizza the other night, ordered it online.  ;)  His romantic streak is returning now that he is feeling better, I think.

I need to get ready to go to the home.  Later, Peeps!

It is chilly today and snowing in the hills - yes, there is snow in Arizona and skiing as well.  At home, still lots of snow and all the "experts" predicted a dry winter - it has been well above normal snowfall and storms.  There is no expert on earth  ;D

Cousin & husband left early today and we are getting things repacked for our drive to Tucson tomorrow.  Don is taking a nap & I feel sleepy as well.  We were walking around Prescott, AZ the other afternoon and Don said he felt awful - we sat for awhile and then he decided to have a coffee and started to feel better right away.  It is a good thing that worked - a strange day.

Larry:  That isn't a way to celebrate a birthday!  It is good that you were able to be close to home and checked

Jeannine:  A big hug to you!  It may take some time for your knee to feel better.

Colin:   What a lovely glen.  It looks refreshing and peaceful.  Thank you for the music - what a great talent you have and it is so nice of you to share with everyone.

Perhaps the reason I don't look that old is because the picture is a couple of years old.  Let's see I was fishing with my brother on Lake Nipissing.  And he died in 2003.  So the picture is at least 5 years old.

Hi Kevin !

Thanks for that word about what to do with Satan, Kevin.  My former pastor of many years ago always referred to Jude 9: "Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, 'The Lord rebuke you!'"  If even Michael the archangel didn't dare, surely I shouldn't!  Many in our day have forgotten who he is and who we are.  We aren't archangels, that's for sure.  But what Michael said is more than a little interesting.  He said, "The Lord rebuke you!"  that's a prayer.  It's very similar to what we often do when we say, "The Lord bless you!"  That's a prayer, too.  God alone is strong enough for Satan.  Again - thanks, Kevin - that was refreshing in the midst of a generation of those who don't shrink from reviling the Devil.  Our adequate strength is our Lord - let's leave it to Him.  He always hears our prayers.

Hi everyone.  I have had a good day after a long night of sleep.  I was so tired last night that I went to bed early as did my wife and we both slept throughout the night.  I went to coffee this morning and then had to go to Kaiser to get a pneumonia shot and pick up medicine.  On the way home I stopped at the hospital and picked up copies of my medical record to take to my cardiologist on Monday.  Then stopped at Target to get a really nice valentine and some Russell Stover candy for Pat.  That was enough for one day.

I have read all the messages and the interesting discussion started by Kevin.  Etta Sue, hope you have a good trip to Florida.  We are still planning on going next week.  Ruth Ann, hope you had a good drive to Atlanta.  Janet, hope that Beth isn't disappointed.  Having expectations often lead to disappointments since we don't have any control over other people.

Ed:  That was a good answer and I have the same problem  I don't have enough hair left to do anything with.

Well we had a bit of sun today and it was nice.  This morning I was at the mission that I go to every Thursday to give out food bags from the food bank.  We were busy today and it is so hard to see some of the client's that come to the mission and to here how hard it is for them.

Larry:  Please look after yourselff and stay away from hospitals. We will be remembering you.  How is your daughter doing.

Pat:  The rose was beautiful and the stosy that went with it and the great old hymn.   The you tube was great and I could even pick up that irish accent.  Excellent.  Love ya sis.

Judy B.  via Heather.  Very funny I dont know where you find all these stories but they are good.  Please say hi to John and don't do to much and then get to tired. Talk to you soon  sis.

To all others that have posted I have read your postings and enjoyed them as always and Etta Sue I love you animation.  Have a great time in Florida.

Well must go for now going out for valentines for supper.  God bless :coffee:

Hi, friends,

I'm safely here in Atlanta with the kids. My little one was nearly asleep so I got a sleepy "Hi, Granma, you spendin the nite?" I told her yes, I'm spending the night and she smiled a sleepy little smile and went back off to dreamland.

When I called and my oldest granddaughter picked up the phone, she shouted, "HEY, Grandma's coming, HOORAY!"

Wow, just think another year or two and she'll probably roll her eyes at old Grandma coming down to visit!  ;)

Y'all have a great rest of the day.

Colin, that was beautiful!  I am amazed at how rocks in different areas can be totally different.  Some are all rounded, some standing up like they've been carved, vertically---other areas there are huge boulders, then an area of all small rocks.  Oh, the endless creativity of our Father God!  I loved the music, too---did you hear me singing along?  ;)

My kids who didn't make it for Christmas because of a blizzard are supposed to come tomorrow.  And Curt, Toni and little Alexis are in Hugoton, and Mark is also coming home.  So we will have a real reunion!!  Thank you, God!  We are cooking a turkey dinner for all of them tomorrow evening.

Beth called this morning to tell me she received a Vermont Teddy Bear holding a banner that says "I love Beth" along with a box of candy.  I told her those will last longer than roses!  Well, the bear will, anyway.  ^-^

I must get busy!  Lots to do, getting my stuff together for the class next week.  Thank goodness, I don't have to do a flurry of cleaning, the house is company ready.  (Thank you FLYlady!)  ;)

Good afternoon to all.   We have a clear day today but still a little cool and the days can't go fast enough till we go south.

Ruth Ann:  I am so glad that you arrived safely and have a wonderful time.and also safe trip on the way home.

Nita:  Grandkid's are wonderful and both of ours are coming this weekend and we are always so glad to have them.

Colin:  Again Fantastic scenery and the coastline of Ireland is always beautiful and it was a very long time ago that I played on Giant's causeway.  Then this new Godtube is also fantastic as you can get so many good preachers and other things , thanks for introducing us to it God bless Colin.

Janet:  Hi are are you and your husband donn't overdo it as you always sound like you are so busy :)   It is such a coincident that you are cooking a turkey tomorrow as we are doing the same thing as the kids are coming.

Well must go for now got to out soon to do some errands God bless you all  Gord. :coffee:

Colin I will check out the video as soon as I post this.

Forest and Savannah were here for awhile last night as gilbert and Sarah went to Trinidad to have a quiet dinner together for their anniversary. I found a message from my friend when I cam online this morning. the kids brought me 3 brownies  when they came they sure were good.

My hours at work have been cut starting March 3rd. down to 15 hours per week . Whew I do not want to get another job and have to work two jobs again I will just have to be more frugal.

Gotta go walk the dogs now.

Hi all.  We are having a very nice day here.  At noon we met our birthday group at Red Lobster and 5 of us celebrated our birthdays.  We had a very nice lunch and as always a great time with this group of friends.  I stopped at the library on my way home and returned some items and picked up a couple of books.  Now just hope I find the time to read them.

Our trip to Florida is going to be delayed until a week from today as the couple we had planned to visit on the way down have a prior commitment.  So we will just stop on the way back and spend time with them as it is no problem for us and in fact probably works out better.

Thanks again for the expressions of concern about my health.  Please don't worry about me, although as always I appreciate those thoughts and prayers.  I think my new medicine, which is a nitroglyerine medicine is giving me a minor discomfort and a little dizziness but expect that won't last as I adjust to it.  I had taken the same thing before.

Janet, certainly glad that Beth wasn't disappointed.  I heard severals ads for the Vermont Teddy Bear on the radio so know they must be special.  As you say it will last a long time.  It sounds like you will be very busy with family but that it should be a great time.

Hi Gord, Colin, and Nita.  Gord you asked about our daughter.  I thought she was doing well and had worked 4 days and seemed to be doing fine.  However, yesterday afternoon around 3 pm she passed out at work.  She was not scheduled to work today or, due to our President's Day Federal Holiday on Monday, until sometime next week.  Her mother talked with her today and she seemed to be feeling a lot better so am hoping it was just a one-time occurrence.

Marilyn, is your cutback in hours another government cost savings measure or has the need changed?  Glad you were able to be with your grandchildren.

Ruth Ann, glad you had a safe trip to Atlanta.  It looks like you are hear at a good time weatherwise.  Those words received from grandchildren as the best aren't they?

I am looking forward to a quiet evening.

Hello all!  I hope each of you had a special Valentine's Day, in whatever way you wanted.  :)

Bernard and I went to the Waynesville Country Club and took pictures of the couples there for their Valentine's day Dinner and Ballroom Dancing.  It was a real challenge, because I am used to shooting a bunch of shots to get it just right, then fixing it in post-processing.  Last night, I had to take a couple of shots, hand Bernard a memory card, and he would be printing them while I took some more.  I had one chance to take a picture, then print it straight from the card -- NO post processing.

Fortunately, almost all of there were *really* good and several people took my business card for future use.  I also took some shots of my supper, and we printed 8x10s for the chefs.  He wants me to photograph all of his signature dishes for his portfolio. :)  Also, the owner was impressed with my food shots and is interested in having me shoot for their menu/advertisement,e tc.

We shot for free last night (and it was their printer and paper, etc), but they let us eat for free.  Sooooo, we got some free advertisement, and quite possibly one of the best meals I've ever eaten.

In other Shuford news,
Kristi got her cast off today.  She is already back to walking and playing as if it had never been on her.    Glad that is behind us, though.  I promised her a real bath (we've had to do "different things" for the past two weeks) tonight.  :)

Later and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Hi, friends, I'll be brief again today. Kassie will be in from her piano lesson soon, and I think the girls and I will go to dinner together, then let them choose their own valentine presents afterward. That should be lots of fun.

One day Kassie and I were together without the rest of the family, and we fiddled around in WalMart for a couple of hours. Oh, what a good time we had, laughing and giggling like two teenagers (one almost there, and one WAAAAAAY past those teenage years and riding a shopping scooter).

Little Georgia and I were sitting on the couch alone this afternoon, and she began to practice writing her ABCs. Then, she discovered all the letters to make her family's names were right tthere in the alphabet. So, she proudly showed them her first ever transcription of their names when they got back home. What fun to be able to spend those moments with her.

Y'all have a good evening.

Thank you Gordon for watching the video. I filmed that early in the day and later on the place was coming down with American tourists. I thought I was in America! There were some Japanese people there as well.

Hi Colin, and Everyone else, too!

Coffee is the topic of the next Challenge.  Very good!  I mean the topic, well and the beverage.  I like mine quite strong, or as it's called today, Bold or Extra Bold.  For a little extra "punch" add a bit of chicory! :o

Here's a bit of enlightenment about the Light, from John 8...

Jesus once again addressed them: "I am the world's Light. No one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness. I provide plenty of light to live in."

The Pharisees objected, "All we have is your word on this. We need more than this to go on."

Jesus replied, "You're right that you only have my word. But you can depend on it being true. I know where I've come from and where I go next. You don't know where I'm from or where I'm headed. You decide according to what you can see and touch. I don't make judgments like that. But even if I did, my judgment would be true because I wouldn't make it out of the narrowness of my experience but in the largeness of the One who sent me, the Father. That fulfills the conditions set down in God's Law: that you can count on the testimony of two witnesses. And that is what you have: You have my word and you have the word of the Father who sent me."
