JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Hi everyone, just dropping in quickly to say hello. I think I am near the point of exhaustion as Jeannine is coming near the end of her stay. We have walked miles and miles!
Pat ,I will take time and look at your wedding photos but I have seen some and you look beautiful and Paul is pretty handsome too.
Well, going off to bed for a well earned rest.
Take care.

Pat, I so enjoyed seeing your wedding photos, and they are lovely, as are YOU.  And Paul is quite handsome, but it's what is in your hearts that counts.  <3

Well, the garage sale is behind me.  I helped Pat all day, got home after 5.  She did pretty well, sold $177 worth of STUFF at very cheap prices, and I sold $40 worth of jewelry, from the stuff we brought home from Darrel's brother in South Texas.

I will be leaving tomorrow for my yearly painting class over in Fowler, so won't be around again until next Saturday.  Try to miss me, will you?   ;)

We got the leak fixed!!!  YIPPEE!  I tested it by showering up there last night, and no leaks.  So right now, I'm off to clean my closet and put my clothes back in there.

Bye!

Hi, everyone!

A lot has happened this month. First, Bently died, and we were all very sad, :-[ but we knew it had to happen. So we got a new hamster, and named it Bently the second.
Or Baby B for short. He's very cute, just like B 1.

Then, as of May 20th, I am old enough to get my learners permit and start learning to drive. :groupwave:!

a few days ago, we got two birds, Mercy and Grace. :boots: They are little parakeets, also known as Budgies. I'll get some pics when we get them trained enough to come out of the cage.

That's about it, We will start to train the birds soon, and I'll will you all in as we go.

Have a nice day,

                               Scotty

ScottyBoy

Hi, again.

I just took a neat movie of Mercy an Grace. Mercie is the boy, (he's the green one) and Grace is the girl. (Blue).

Ruth Ann Bice

Scotty, it was so good to meet Mercy and Grace! When I was growing up, we had a parakeet we named Kippy. He learned all SORTS of tricks and words. Our whole family really loved Kippy.

Etta Sue, to quote my brother when he was trying to determine how best to serve God after his retirement from the school system, he prayed and waited on the Lord's guidance, and one Sunday morning he said, "Sis, what I really wish is that God would put a billboard on I-75 saying 'Duke, turn at the next exit to be in my will!"

So, that's what I was thinking of when I said I wish I had a Heavenly GPS - my GPS actually tells me when to turn 2 miles ahead, then 1/2 mile ahead, and a bell rings when it's time to turn. :D

Y'all have a great evening.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Jane Walker

Years ago there was a song on the radio that said "Just turn right, then go straight."  That's how you follow Jesus!   ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Nita

Jane, I like that.  Makes it so simple. :)  So, Ruth Anne, you just remember to turn right and go straight. lol  We know if we are His, our footsteps are ordered by God.  Just trust that He'll guide you and lead you to what His plans are for your destiny.  It's pretty exciting, huh?

I was able to get out and do some more mowing and weedeating today.  My little electric machine sure doesn't do a good job. The grass and weeds along the fence are so thick.  It just looks like I chopped it up.  As Marilyn said, a gas one would be too heavy.  But....I did it and it feels good to know if I keep hacking away at it, I'll be done.  lol

Scotty, your little Budgies are so cute.  I had "Petey Bird" once.  He was the sweetest little guy and loved to play.  He got sick and died and we never did know why.  I love the sound of their singing.   Going to get your learner's permit soon!!  That's neat.   That's an important milestone is a young person's life.

Time for me to end this day and get to bed.  I just wanted to check in here, say hello, and see what God was doing in your lives.  We are all so blessed!!   Nita

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I and eight others from our choir or their spouses attended the concert last night.  The first half of the program was presented by the orchestra and consisted of 4 pieces.  After intermission the chamber chorus came out and they did John Rutter's version of Requiem by Gabriel Fauré.  This is a gorgeous piece of music and the chorus was very balanced.  All of the program featured French composers.  I really enjoyed the evening as the performances were top-notch.

Ruth Ann, I was very glad to have my GPS system with me last night as the road split and I took the wrong branch and we got a little lost but the GPS guided us back to where we needed to go.  As you say, we don't need to use it daily but when we venture into areas where we are not familiar, and there are many opportunities in big cities to get lost.

Etta Sue, I know you feel fortunate to have been spared in the storms.  We went through the same thing the other night.

Colin, I am sure all that walking has been very good for both you and Jeannine.  Good to see you posting.

Janet, glad your garage sale effort went well and you were satisfied.  I expect you won't read this for several days so will just say I hope your painting week was very enjoyable and restful for you.

Scotty, sorry about your hamster but we know when we get them as pets that their life span is not long.  Glad you got another and your budgie birds sound like a lot of fun.  My sister-in-law has two parakeets and they are really a lot of company for her.  They also make a lot of noise.

Hi Jane and Nita.

Marilyn

Good Morning: I am part way ready for church and having my breakfast. I am going to Abundant ife Center today as I don't feel like driving my car to Arcata. Trying to save a little gas and besides that I miss my friends here.

I didn't sleep well last night I had cramps in the toes of my right foot most of the night. I sat on the bed and rubbed them and pulled onthem and finally asked God to take away the pain, that was at 4 AM, got up at 5. So will probably nap this aftenoon.

Hope everyone has a very blessed day.

Just so you know....5/12th of 2008 is in the past!!  Really!!

I played hookey this morning from church.  Why?  I don't know.  Just didn't want to get up at 6:30, get ready and drive 25 miles to church and then the 25 miles back.  I read my devotions as usual.

Commencement was great last night.  163 kids graduated.  But the A/C was off in the gym and I almost got dizzy seeing all the programs used as fans.  Justyn and his friend, Brian, had a joint Open House.  The place was ideal for an Open House with lots of space for parking cars and a two car garage for the food and tables.  But....someone was playing drums all the time we were eating.  Then at 9pm the bands were to start and Justyn's band was going to be third.  Ivalou and I left at 9:15pm.  It wasn't music...just loud, deafening noise!!!

I need to go somewhere for some milk sometime today.  That's it!!

Thanks, Larry.  I will be leaving soon, around 4:30, I think.  We just want to get there before dark.

We have had parakeets, too, .......and a parrot (we all loved Pepe)...and Beth had a cockatoo named Ruffles who was lots of fun, but so messy!  And she would start screeching every night at dusk, until we covered her cage.  Beth gave her to a lady who was supposed to keep her updated as to how she is doing, but she hasn't, and isn't there when Beth calls.  Beth got so she wasn't able to take care of the bird, and I really didn't want the mess in the house.

I'm off now.  I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Ruth

Good afternoon.     Life in this home is different I must say.  busy and life changing but the Lord is in charge.   Our past stress is almost past which is good.
We have most of our garden furniture out and now I must get the few flower & veg. plants  I have or will be buying planted.

Pat: Thanks for sharing your wedding photo's.  If it is OK with you I will print a couple and show them to some of your past coworkers.

PAT:  Had a chance to look at your wedding photos.  What a great couple you make. May God richly bless your marriage.

50th reunion is now behind me.  One more thing to do and I can put all of the records away for 4 yrs till we start again.

What has been great about this reunion is finding out so many of my classmates have become Christians.  Some no doubt as pleased to learn I am as I was to find out they were.  We will be networking to pray for our needs and any that our classmates may put before us.

We are finally enjoying some warm weather here.  My shorts have come out of mothballs.  Winter clothes have been put away.  And work shall begin on completing the restoration of the 71 Chevelle.
