Today really feels like winter is on the way.  I finally had to wear a heavy jacket. Was starting to think that it had been a waste of money having my parka's drycleaned!

I am praying for your daughter, Larry.  Also for you and Pat.

Nothing exciting happening here at the moment.  Glad that you are back safe from your visit, Marilyn.  Liked your picture in landscape and also voted while in the area....

Cats can also miss their owners.  Squeek is so unhappy when the kids go away.  I have to spend a lot of time comforting her.  She has gotten rather senile lately and doing the strangest things....Now eight plus yrs.....so guess we will visit old age together.  Al asked about the name...she came with it.  Suits her as she has a voice that is a definate squeek.  Kind of like chalk on a blackboard ::)

Time to go and get my dinner.  Janet, I have been feeling a lot more perky since starting my shake again.  Good stuff!

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Hi everyone.  It isn't as cold here today and the sun is out with little wind.  It is to get into the 50's this morning.  I walked to the drug store, which is about a block away, and back this morning for a couple of items.  We always forget to pack something we need.  As soon as I finish this I will walk over to the hospital and spend a couple of hours with Stacey.  By ten in the morning the nurses have completed their morning rituals.  I found I can go into the Spinal Center, which is directly across the street from the apartments, and there is a covered walkway from that facility to the hospital.

Stacey and we are just in a holding pattern until they are able to do the surgery.  We are hoping it will be tomorrow, but won't know until later in the day.  I had a call last evening from the Deacon on call at our church and she and a couple of other church friends are planning on coming down to spend sometime with us tomorrow and to visit Stacey. They know her because Stacey has gone to church with us on occasion during the last two years.

We ate at a very good Mexican place last evening that is close by.  We shared a dish that was plenty for both of us.

Nothing much else new.  I see it is time for me to head to the hospital.

Marilyn

Good Morning from rainy Northern California I am so glad I mowed the back yard  on Tuesday It sure did need it. Now we will get to the front maybe when Keith is here if it doesn't rain for the whole 3½ days.

I have a load of laundry in the dryer already I put it in the washer as soon as I got back from Curves. I ate a PB and J sandwich for breakfast, was tired of oatmeal. Not much on my plate for today. After work I have to go pick up my Senior food Box and Brown bag of groceries. this county takes good care of the Seniors and I am so thankful for the help they give me.

Larry I am praying daily for Stacey.

Marilyn - is that the same grocery bag as what they call "commodities" at the Arcata center? (Or do you get them at Arcata?)

Janet

Good morning!  I think our weather took a change toward cooler during the night, but haven't actually gone outside to check!  ;)

Liz, so glad the shakes are helping you!  Our cat Dinah sure misses us when we go away for a while.  All I have to do is go into the garage and call "MEOW," and she comes running!

Larry, remembering you, Pat and especially Stacey today.  May God continue to give you strength and courage...and faith.

I don't have any 'have-to-dos' today, but will try to do something worthwhile.  For sure, am going to finish this really good book I am reading.  ;)  We are invited to a client appreciation dinner tonight with our financial planner.  He's going to talk about the downturn, and we are looking forward to hearing what he will say.

Later!

Larry:  You sure must know your way around the hospital.  Be sure to contact the resident Chaplain.  I used to be a volunteer Chaplain at a hospital and there are so many little things that can be of help. It is really nice that some of your church friends will visit.  Take care.

Liz:  Our good friends inherited a cat that belonged to their deceased son.  If the cat was awake, he was meowing and this would go on all the time - they would have to shut the cat in another room if company came - it was really odd behavior. And, the cat had always been noisy.  That cat has crossed the rainbow bridge now -

I have had the beginning of a cold for two days and opted to not walk today.  Well, there is ice on the ground too.  Company for dinner tonight and they only have to walk 7 and 9 houses up from us.

Did anyone notice that the big three motor executives used private planes at a cost of almost $4,000 per hour to fly to beg for taxpayer money?????  I think we need a revival of common sense in this country.  Common sense and stewardship.

Marilyn

Al No that is not the same as commodities,  and you can go sign up at the Grace church on Hiller road.  You get them on the third Thursday of every month if you qualify. Just take your drivers license and proof of income. It may take awhile to get on the brown bag list I don't know. You can also call the Food for People in Eureka  for more info.

Carol yesterday you said you wanted details. Well there are no details to report at this time. I will be moving me and dogs up  sometime in March before my car insurance and tags are due So I can  get the changes done in Oregon instead of California. Whatever it is it will be a very quiet  arrangement either here or there. We don't want any trouble from his ex so prefer to keep it quiet for the time being. It will probably be here to keep it from being in the paper there. Maybe at my DIL's parent's house. Her father is a minister and he married them.

Amen on that, Carol!  Greed knows no bounds....people in the UAW making $72.00 per hour (including benefits) and going on strike for more--same for the airplane industry.  It is depressing.

I got six mats and backs cut, also the glass for those cut.  My frames shoud arrive on Monday so I can get them assembled.  Nice to sell some of the prints of my work, after a long dry spell.  :)

It will soon be time to dress for dinner, it is casual, so no big deal.

Hey, Pat!  We miss you in here.  <3

Whew!  A busy day!  I took the photo to my classmate of her husband.  It was a photo of a photo that I put in a frame.  He said it was taken in early '90's right after he refurbished his '57 Chevy.  I do believe he had a tear in his eye.  Then Ivalou and I went to the bank and on to Pizza Hut.  After that we stopped by the hospital to see Jody who was the hostess Tuesday for Euchre.  Early the next morning she had pressure in her chest and called 911.  She didn't have a heart attack and doesn't need stents but she was being tested for her kidneys and possible esophagus...and her BP was high...200 over something.  She was still in ICU today but the doctor was releasing her this afternoon.  BUT they went out her front door and the EMT locked it.  Now the key won't unlock the door.  Jody knew that...she always went out the back door but the storm door is locked...she locks it at night.  So now someone will have to break a window to get in!!!

Then we went grocery shopping and then to find me some Sunday black shoes.  What I liked had heels...no no!  Or the low heels looked like man-shoes!!!  GRrrr!!.  Ivalou went to the Party place for paper items for Thanksgiving day.  Then home.

Now I am going to church at 7 to learn the software for the new Projector!

Whew!!!

Good evening to all.  Today I got some good news.  I went for an Echo- Cardiogram and praise the Lord all is clear.

God is so good and he looks after his children.  Tonight I had the op pertunity to minister to a group of seniors and what a blessing that was.  Yesterday I did not think that I would be able to sing but again the Lord answered prayer and I thank him for this.

Janet:  I never did get the report on your trip so I hope that you will be able to send it to me.

Well God bless you all.    Gord and Noreen <3 :)

Heard something on the radio.  Voltair would have been 300+ years old.  When he died he said that Christianity and the Bible would be wiped out.  About one hundred years later a Bible printing company bought his property and used it and Voltair's presses to print Bibles!
THE BIBLE STANDS

Everything is white.  I have been on my walk, only a half a mile, a walk none the less.  Feels good to get out and do this.

I have a big day today, so must run.

God bless and know that I am praying.

Brrrr.... it's cold here in Guelph!

We've been busy, busy the last few days.  And now we are preparing for our trip to Virginia on Monday in order to be there for Thanksgiving and then a wonderful concert of the National Christian Choir on Dec. 6

Hi everyone.  It is another beautiful, but really cold, morning here in Georgia.  They said it was 32 degrees here in Atlanta.  We kept a window open all night here at the apartment as it get way too hot in here.  This is an old heating/AC system and hard to control.  Fortunately there are rollout windows so we can get cooler air into the apartment.

We spoke to Stacey a little while ago.  They had taken her off the nitro drip yesteday morning and she did fine until about 3 pm when she was awoken from a sound sleep (had taken a sleeping pil) by severe chest pain.  They put her back on the nitro drip and gave her some morphine as chest pain is hard on the heart.  The cardiologist came in early this morning and suggested perhaps she was suffering from anxiety that was causing the pain but she challenged him by waying she was in a sound sleep when the pain occurred.  The surgery won't be today so it will be Monday or Tuesday unless an emergency occurs during the weekend, which we don't anticipate.

She wanted to try to sleep this morning so Pat and I both will go over to see her this afternoon.  That is when she is likely to have company, incluidng the folks from our church.  One of her ministers is suppose to visit her sometime today and bring her Communion.  He did this before when she was in the hospital.

Gord, happy to read your good news from the Echo.  We will take all the good news we can get.

Etta Sue, the thought occurs the lady with the front door problem would probably have saved money overall by having the lock fixed.  Glad she hadn't had a heart attack.  Must have been an exciting Euchre game.

Janet, nice to see you post about having a minute or two for yourself.  Glad to see you are selling your prints as well.

Marilyn, it is good your county has help with various food programs.  I am sure there are similar programs here.  I recently read about the Angelfood program, which apparently is like a cooperative, and appears not to be income limited.

Carol, I am beginning to know my way around several of the hospitals, actually much more so than I want to.  I sure don't like to read it is time for people to have ice on their walks and streets.  Hope that doesn't last long in your area.

Pat, you and Paul certainly are busy people.  Maybe sometime this next year things will settle down when you get moved to the new house and all settled in.

Judy, God is able to use a lot of things we just don't understand how it will work.  Your example about Voltaire is a great example.

Hi Al and all others who visit with us here on CP today.

Good Morning everyone. It is cold here this morning 36° right now. The heater even came on this  morning I have it set at 60° all the time except for a few months a year when I turn it down to 55°.

Keith told me last night that he  maybe coming down Tuesday instead of Wednesday and  bringing Fritzy (the cat) with him this trip. That will an interesting few days as the dogs will be in their own element this time the meet with him. I have the big dog crate in the living room where the cat can have his litter box, He can sleep in there too. He does like his little crate and sometimes gets in there my himself to sleep at night. I brought the big crate in when Bebe had her injured leg.

The economy has really effect Keith's work, the other man that works in his office has filed form unemployment and Keith's secretary is working 4 hours a day 3 days per week. He hasn't had anything to do all this week. A client came in to talk to him about drawing the plans for a house and is due back in today to discuss it further.

Please pray the the Lord will bring Keith some work.

I have to bake a pie today for the church potluck tomorrow and I think I will make a batch of peanut butter cookies too.

Did you see the beautiful Sunrise pic I posted  HERE

I'm sorry, Gord, I thought I had sent the trip story to you.  I will do that as soon as I finish this.  In reading my printed out copy, I found a few mistakes which have now been corrected.

Darrel had to go on a trouble call this morning.  I have a couple errands to run, and this evening is Jeff's (our son-in-law) play.  It's a dinner play, one of those audience participation mysteries.  Should be fun.

Larry, glad Stacey got relief from her pain, and hope they get the surgery done soon.  That waiting is hard, for all of you!

Hi, Pat---you really have a busy life just now, huh?  Glad you and Paul are both in good health to enjoy (and tolerate) it!

Etta Sue, you do stay busy, don't you?  That keeps you young.  ;)

I need to go eat my grapefruit for breakfast!  Yum!

I went to church to learn the software for the projector and screen.  Interesting and I was amazed at how clear everything is on the overhead screen.  The software if 'Sunday Plus'.  There will be six of us taking turns using the software on Sundays.

Then when I went to bed, I remembered that I forgot to take Ivalou's and my gifts to church for our Secret Sisters.  My Secret Sister is always there before me on Sundays and always standing in the doorway beside the table where we put the gifts!!!!!!!  So I got up at 8 this morning and called the church..left a message.  Shortly after 9 the church secretary called and said she would be there until noon.  So I took the gifts and the laptop.  I installed 'Sunday Plus' on my laptop...now I need time to play!!!

I got home around 10:30 and called Ivalou to see if she would like to go to Lapel for lunch.  She said she was just now thinking about if I would want to go...GMTA!!  After we ate, we went to Dollar General.  Upon leaving I noticed that my right tire looked lower than my left tire.  So I drove to Noblesville and all the tires were fine...if anything the left had too much air in it.  Then to Aldi's and Ivalou got her frozen turkey for Thursday!

After letting Ivalou out, I stopped at the mailbox and got my mail.  Now I am in and hope I don't have to go out until mail tomorrow!!!!!

And I can play on the computer with 'Sunday Plus'.   ::)

I love your days Etta Sue.  Always so interesting.  How are the cats?

Well I may have a couple of young fellows at my Saturday Kids Sewing Class.  Elizabeth's friend and my grandson.  This will prove interesting.  They want to make giftf for Mom for Christmas.

Looks like tonight will be a late night.  We have an appointment, and that can be time consuming.

Gotta run

Janet

B-r-r-r-r, Judy--snow?  I hope we don't have any for a while.  But it is past mid-November, so it could snow anytime now (could have even earlier, but it has been warm here until yesterday.)  Enjoy the sewing class (teaching.)

Etta Sue, I wonder if that is the program we have at church.  Sometimes young kids are running it for the music, but they start daydreaming or something and forget to keep up.  ;)  I see you have a new face here!  I like it.

We are just home from the play "Who Killed the King?"  It was a very enjoyable evening, only I ate too much and am miserable.  Why did I do that?  Grrrr.

No news here, just checking in.  See you tomorrow!

I'm checking in too, Janet.

I had a busy day of babysitting, and have Maycie still, but she's sleeping.  My son in law's father went Home after a long battle with Leukemia and his funeral was today.  I babysat for Megan for that.  Then Angel came over with Maycie, and I decided it was time for a GGma-Maycie slumber party.  We party early. haha  She was in bed by 8.

I guess I'll go and watch Super Nanny.  I hear it on in the other room.  God bless everyone.  Nita

Hi everyone.  It looks like I may be first here today.  It has really gotten cold here, down to 23 degrees here in Atlanta.  However, the sun is out.  Unfortunately there is some wind today which makes it seem colder.

The surgery is scheduled for Monday morning about 11 am.  The doctor told Stacey they would take her down around 9:30.  The surgery is expected to take from 4 to 6 hours so it is going to be a long day.  We are going to visit with Stacey at the hospital this morning and then will head back to our home.  We have a truck full of laundry to do.  We will go to church in the morning and then back dow here to stay for as long as we need to do so.

Marilyn

Larry I am praying for Stacey

Janet I am praying for Beth

Liz I am praying for Wendy

Please continue to keep my DIL Sarah in your prayers her MS is exacerbating, she wakes up every morning very stiff and hurting, Gilbert says she tries not to let on how bad it is around other people. She tries so hard to keep going and doing  all the things a wife and mother needs to do and then some.  Gilbert tells her to rest but she just keeps going until she can't do any more.

Well It looks like Keith will be coming down on Monday so he doesn't have to drive in the rain on Tuesday. With him here during the week he will finally get to see what my week days entail

Tuesday is going to be a busy morning, with Curves at 5:30, the chiropractor at 8:15 work at 9:15, picking up my groceries at 10:30.  he will mow the front yard one of the days and we have to recycle  too. He also needs to go out to Gilbert's house  to take some photos and discuss with the kids  what they want as far as the remodel goes so he can draw the plans. So it will be  a busy week. He may return to Oregon on by the weekend as his sons are going to be in town and he wants to make sure he gets to visit with them too.

Well, I finally know what this new physical therapist is going to do.  On the first, second, thrird, fourth, fifth, eighth, and ninth I will be going in each afternoon at 2PM for wrapping and massage therapy.  Following that I will probably have new and special compression stockings.  She seems to think I can be rid of the swelling in my legs by means of all these things.  Pray that it will be so and that I'll be able to return to my bed at night instead of the recliner.

Larry, I've prayed for you & Pat and for Stacey - that you'll all know His Presence and love and that the outcome will be perfect.

It rained quite a bit last night, but it isn't right now.

Al, it is good to at least know what the doctors have planned for you.  I pray all goes the best possible and you will be back in your bed soon for good sleep!

Larry, I will be praying for Stacey, you and Pat on Monday (as well as today and tomorrow.)  Those are such trying and tiring times for you all.

Gord, did you get the story?  I did email it to you when you asked, but did so again.  Is your email current in your profile on here?

Nita, such fun having those little ones there.  But sorry about the death in the family.  I just got an email from my youngest daughter saying her father in law has been diagnosed with Mesothelioma, and one lung is already completely encapsulated.  They say no cure, really no treatment.  He's such a fun, hard working man.....sad.  And my son in law's Mom who has lung cancer has lost half of one lung, her prognosis is 50-50 chance, says one doctor, the other says 33% chance of survival.  Tough times.

There is a big craft show in town, and I am going in to check it out.  Need to stop by and visit Beth and Mom, too.

Thanks for your prayers, Marilyn.

Thanks for asking about my two furgirls.  If someone was standing outside this morning they would have probably thought I had lost it.  I was laughing so hard.  With me making this afghan, I have scrap yarn all over the living room floor...some of it is rolled into balls.  Inky and Ali both will get a small ball of yarn and take off...most of the time batting it with a paw.  And that lets the ball unroll.  So I sometimes have strings of yarn all over the place!  Today Inky was all tangled in the yarn.  She couldn't figure out why that small ball of yarn was following her wherever she went!  I laughed and laughed at her.  How she got herself untangled, I don't know.  I rolled up the yarn again and then Ali got in the act.  She was playing like a kitten, running, pouncing on the ball, turning somersaults!  So  funny.  They sure were getting their exercise!!

It has been fun playing with 'Sunday Plus'.  Still very much to learn but perhaps I can help others when they have questions and/or problems.

I am going to bake some Zucchini Bread this afternoon.  Tomorrow evening at 5pm our church is have their Harvest Dinner.  Everyone brings a dish to share.  Should be lots of fun.

It is cold.....brrrrr!  Only 26° right now at 1:24pm.  Brrrr!  Overcast with some sunshine tossed in now and then.  Did I say Brrrrrr?

Don has been installing a DVD on the t.v.  There isn't much on tv. even with all the channels available.  the library has so many movies that there must be something for us to enjoy.

I am in my sewing room and listening to a book on CD - so nice.  I just made the menu list for Thanksgiving and the girls will provide one or two things each so there will be more than enough. It is much too warm to get into the holiday mood.

Pat:  Enjoy your trip and holiday with Paul.  We are driving some neighbors to their church service Wednesday night to listen to music and a short sermon.

Gord:  Great news for you!

Al:  Praying that all of this new leg treatment will succeed.

Had an email from SeniorNet and they are moving the headquarters to Washington, D.C.  It looks like another two weeks.
