Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Well, here I am at last ....  I've been out and about all day and just now getting here to see the beautiful ring and roses for Pat from Paul ... I am so happy for you both.  As someone already said: you have so much in common and it really seems as though God brought you together for His glory -- and your happiness! (I read Paul's description, of how you got together, on SN).  Again, I say a hearty CONGRATULATIONS!

Jane, could you post a link to that post on SN?  I go there a lot to read, have not seen the post by Paul.

Spending time on the computer today as sort of a little ill.  Also all alone as even the painters have left.

SNet is a wonderful place to spend time.  So many interesting folks and it is nice to feel close to what is happening in other lives.  I rarely post....sort of lurk like you do, Jane!

Good Evening folks. I can finally see better after the dilation has reversed.  Good news from the Eye Doctor. No change in distance, 25/20 in both eyes. I will still be using the OTC Dollar store magnifying glasses at +250 for reading and +200 for the computer. The cataract is still the same small little thing. So it is all good  :thumbs up:

I took the dogs out for long walks even with my eyes still dilated, that was fun.  I baked ¼ turkey in my crockpot and had some with steamed broccoli for supper. mmm that was good. I put some of the juice onthe dogs kibble and they sure enjoyed that.

Thanks Larry for the email  and the info. I will do that.

Liz, I guess since it was posted on such a big public site it wouldn't be wrong to put the link here.  It all began, in Photos Then & Now, when Pat was eagerly awaiting Paul's trip to Guelph with the "wee box" in his pocket.  That was the 13th.  She began with the tease about becoming a resident of Virginia soon.....  ;)  Of course, that peaked everyone's curiosity and the questions and speculations began.  There are 3-4 pages of comments, photos and well wishes from everyone beginning (just prior to) here:

http://www.seniornet.org/jsnet/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=4502.580

If you want to read just Paul's post it is here:

http://www.seniornet.org/jsnet/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=4502.640

BTW ... we discussed the idea of "lurking" a long time ago at the International Cafe at SN.  My opinion is that I am only "observing" ....   ;)

I have met many of the people at SN and, as Pat wrote about Paul's daughter, it always seems as if we've known each other for a long time.  I think that's because we "talk" back and forth on the message board in our posts.  (I used to be very chatty there and everyone knew who Jaywalker was, for sure!)   :-\  :-[  :D

Jane, I'm glad you read my post on SeniorNet.  For those here who never saw it, here's a copy of what I posted on SeniorNet...

WOULD YOU LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT HOW I MET THIS PAT FRIEND OF YOURS??

March 14, 2008

In the USA news this week was an interesting three lines: "Obama gets a little tough on the Clintons, asking why he should be #2 when he's #1 in delegates and states. The Clintons always get their way in the Democrat Party. That's one of the traditions Obama's trying to change."

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Those lines came to mind as I woke up this morning in thinking about how this very special friend you all seem to have as witnessed by me last night in all your comments; I thought some or many of you might be interested as to how she has come to be #2 in my life. For some reason that doesn't sound quite right in many folks thinking, but I have to say that after knowing my Creator personally over the last 61 years of my life, I have found that His ways are often UPSIDE DOWN from my thinking!!

Well, I went out on a limb to as my search for a wife by asking my Sunday School teacher in the sixties and older class, as to what he would do if his wife had gone home to Glory as the result of cancer.  He said without hesitation, "I'd go look on a Christian singles internet site?"

After I picked myself up off the floor his suggestions really made sense. - - -  I decided that this woman had to be very special because I decided to make the requirements pretty strict as I didn't plan to fool around and if God didn't have that kind of a women out there I agreed that it is better single than disappointed.

If you would like to read about what I wrote in my profile for her to respond to, I've put it here at my other web site with these links:

I would also challenge you as to who is #1 in your life as forever is a lot longer than 98 years here in this life!

Thanks again for all the love you have been sharing with us!

Paul

Yeah Paul what Jane said.

Jane it is good to "see" you too.
Are you surprised that I am here at this time of night. I am not usually here this late.

Hi Marilyn and Jane!

Paul is leaving in the morning for Virginia.

I'm going down soon to Virginia and on to Pensacola, Florida to meet his other son who I've not met so that he won't get a big fright when he sees me at the wedding.  ;)

Hey Pat!  You're getting in a lot of traveling and sight seeing these days.  I know you are having a good time, and I hardly think anyone is going to get a fright upon seeing you!   :D

Will you have time to see any of our SN friends in Florida while there?

Enjoy!  (Yeah, right, like I had to tell you  :D)

Many thanks, Jane.  Also to Paul.  What a wonderful and romantic story.  Pat is a blessing in the lives of so many people and it sounds as if you two are truly 'soul mates'.

Jane, I like your definition of lurking....I am not usually on the computer this time of the evening.  Unless to play crib on the internet.  Watched the curling and decided to come and check for new posts.  Glad that I did.

BTW, Canada won the curling game against the US after being down 6-1..... ;D
Unfortunately, they had their first loss earlier and it was to China! :(

Hi Jane...

Thanks for the kind thoughts.  This travel right now is probably going to be a little bit rushed but nice to have Paul's son meet me before the wedding.

So much to do but so little time.

Hi Liz...  Thank you so much.  You're so kind.

Awwww Pat.......

Marilyn are you ok?  really ok?  Know that you are prayed for today.

Great day today...I have sold one machine, and almost an iron.  The iron is really sweet, it lifts when you take your hand off the handle, so no skorching (sp?) or burning.  for a quilter or sewer who irons a lot as they go.

Weather report says snow today, but at this point the sun is high and not a cloud in the sky.  Off topic a bit... can you imagine Elijah seeing a cloud and running the distance he ran with his hand outstreached toward the cloud?  He was an amazing man in the Bible.

John is back in the country, and hopefully heading home soon.

Got to run, much still to do.

Love to all

Aaaahhhh Pat ... Now, there's another bonding that makes my heart smile -- Paul and Geordie!  Geordie looks longingly after Paul and wonders when he'll see him again.  I know you feel the same way, but it won't be long now.

Marilyn, I saw your post last night but didn't have time to reply.  My 'puter is running slow and I was tard, y'know?

Good morning to you Judy ... And to everyone else who graces these pages today.  Have a truly blessed day.

I love the beautiful story of Pat and Paul.  Congratulations

It is nice enough outside that the yard service is trimming and blowing junky stuff away.  We have been told that they will not trim trees anymore and this is a real blow to hear because we do pay for yard service in our home owner's association fee.

Pastor Al:  I hope that they hit the right spot when you had an injection!  And, do hope that your owie goes away quickly.

Nita

Pat, what beautiful pictures!  Your roses, the ring, and best of all  Geordie and Paul.  I love seeing how Geordie has taken to him and it brings it all full circle.  You are blessed, dear lady, and I know that you are ready, you and Geordie, to enter into this wonderful new season of your life.  Can you imagine?? LOL  I'm so happy for you.

As Marilyn said, rain and wind here too.

I'm busy with helping with the baby, trying to stay one step ahead in the house cleaning, and failing miserably.  I know there's a lesson here for me.  One is how much I've always loved quiet. haha  I am blessed with baby smiles and rocking times, so it's all good.  Soon this season will be over and on we go till the Lord calls us home.  Nita

I am having problems with my computer.  First I bought what is called Bamboo Fun...wireless mouse, tablet and pen.  I installed that just fine but when I pulled out the desk, my speakers crackled and popped.  Then no sound.  Since I have repaired the wires due to Inky cutting her teeth on them. I checked them and couldn't see anything wrong.  So I got in the car, went to Best Buy and bought new speakers...the old ones came with my 1998 Gateway.  Still no sound.  Now I am wondering if my sound board or whatever is shot!

And I got a Software Bundle with my wireless mouse...Corel Painter was one and two other things...and I can't install them because I don't have a DVD drive...just CD-R and CD-RW.  I asked Best Buy if they could put it on a CD for me.  Of course not!  I have to purchase a DVD-RW then I can install it.  I sent an email to Bamboo Fun and the reply was that I could put it on a CD but I have to have access to a DVD-R (play) and a CD-RW (record).  I think all those letters are right.  Anyway, I am sitting here in my computility room and it is a total mess....just don't know what to do.  Thinking about calling Best Buy in Kokomo and asking Brad how much the computer that Kitty was looking at and the monitor that I liked would cost with delivery and installation!  Who knows??

Oh Etta Sue What a problem for you.  My puter has died, and to get a new one is beyond me at the moment.

I will be away next week at a training course on the Husqvarna Designer SE LE.  Look it up and see all that this dream machine can do.  So I will miss you all.  But I must say I am looking forward to taking this training course.

Must go Still much to do.

Hi everyone.  It is 5:30 Eastern time and I am just getting to the message boards for today.  This has been a very enjoyable day for us as after coffee this morning, which I always enjoy if anyone else is there , Pat and went to Bible study at church.  Then the group went to Dunkin' Donut for about an hour and then it was time for lunch so the group adjourned to the cafe that is two doors down from the donut store and we all had lunch and visited until about 1:30.  By the time I came home and rested the afternoon was pretty well gone.  Rough day :)  Tonight is choir practice.

Marilyn, I am sure you were disappointed but don't be too hard on yourself as the weight will come back off.  I know you are a lady of determination.

Judy, hope you enjoy your training session.  My cousin's wife has a Husqvarna sewing machine but I don't know what all it does.  My Pat thought there was something wrong with her new Bernina but discovered she didn't have the walking foot on properly and when she took it off and put it back on it works fine.  She was almost ready to take it back to the shop for repair so glad she experimented with it a little bit more.

Etta Sue, does your friend Kitty has a DVD reader/burner in her computer?  If so, she could make you a CD.  If you want to send me the software I will make it for you and send everything back.  However, you would have no problem in putting in a DVD reader either in place of the CD reader or in a separate bay.  Of course, if your computer is over 5 years old it probably would be time to consider a new one.

Pat, loved the pictures of Paul and Geordie.

Till tomorrow.

Janet

Lots of interesting posts since my last visit!  Thanks, Paul, for putting yours in, I enjoyed reading it.  I used to go to SN a LOT, now I can't even get in, need to see what the problem is, but time is always short.  I do miss Photos Then and Now.  :-\

I went to my chiropractor this morning, and he used acupuncture in my ears, this is to help me sleep.  First time I've ever tried acupuncture, and it didn't hurt one bit!

As soon as I got home, Darrel and I left for Garden City.  We gave an estimate on a home alarm system, changed the battery in another and checked the fire alarm at another place; had a nice lunch at Applebees, dropped off several bags of stuff at Goodwill, and got a few items at Walmart.

This evening I went to El Idolo (Mexican restaurant) and got taco salads for Mom and Beth, took those to them, then filled up the car, as we heard prices are surging again, probably by tomorrow.  It was still $3.27.9 tonight.  And yes, I know it is higher in California.

I'm going to hold my painting class tomorrow, first time in months!

Hi, friends,

My goodness! I played "hooky" from the computer last night, and how SORRY I am. Such beautiful photos, Pat, and how it warmed my heart to hear of your and Paul's happiness.

Oh, yes, Marilyn, I have developed a cyst at the base of my left thumb, so it hangs either in a flexed position or in a straightened position, and I have to take my right hand and adjust the left thumb. The surgery is supposed to only take an hour and likely I'll be doing fine in just a couple of days. It's to be done on Apr 15.

Well, such a busy, busy day. The revival services concluded this evening, so now I have lots to ponder about the minister's sermons. Tonight, I think I could condense it to "if you're not living in the overflow (of blessings), then you're living in the undertow (and in danger)." His message was from Paul's gospels, and truly a wonderful one.

I faced some challenges at work today, so the sermon seemed almost tailor-made for me.

Y'all have a good evening.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

JudyB

Ruth Ann Praying about all that you are dealing with.  Pray that the thumb work goes smoothly.

Back to work, I have nearly everything done, about three more things left on the list.  I leave tomorrow right after work to go south with John and the girls.  John has a training course and I will be spending some long overdue time with my sister.

Must go Have a great day everyone.

JudyB

Good mornin', all.  Ruth Ann - all sermons are tailor-made for listeners upon whom our Lord has set His love.  And He is the Tailor.  He makes sure we hear just what He wants for us in our ongoing lives.  He intends to bring us rejoicing into His everlasting Kingdom, so He tailors everything in our lives to that end.  Praise his Name.

Carol

Quoteall sermons are tailor-made for listeners upon whom our Lord has set His love.  And He is the Tailor.  He makes sure we hear just what He wants for us in our ongoing lives.  He intends to bring us rejoicing into His everlasting Kingdom, so He tailors everything in our lives to that end.  Praise his Name.

Al:  This is so true.  It seems like the message from the sermon fits what we really need to hear at times.  Every time we go to church with the family, my prayer is that each one will hear something that they really need to hear from the pulpit or from anyone in the congregation - just so they will "get" that message of hope and real contentment.  Things are not moving fast enough for me but I have to trust that this is in the Plan for each of the children/ their spouses and family.  I keep on praying for angels to guide their thoughts.  My thanks for your interpretation.

Judy B:  Wow - that is some machine you are learning.  I have an older Husqvana and a newer Bernina.  The Husk is my workhorse machine.

Larry:  Tell Pat that I know exactly what happens when you get something not working and with the Bernina it seems like I just go through everything and oil it lightly, redo the thread and snap everything into place and it works like a charm.  Always something!  This machine needs more attention than my older Viking.  We wanted to get out yesterday and have a cup of coffee - Don has had a cold for about 1 1/2 weeks - drove to a doughnut shop and I was mentally ordering two doughnuts when we approached, the new place is only open until 2 PM and it was too late.  Shucks.

Janet:  You have been cleaning out too!  Good for you!  I am ready to take pictures of a lot of things and offer another list to the children - they have to pick a number and then whomever is first is then in last place on the 2nd. item and so it goes back & forth.

Nita:  It is a huge change to have a baby in the house.  I do hope that you are taking care.  Thinking of the change of lifting and I hope that you are alright.

Well, heavy snow here right now and I have to drive to Cheyenne tomorrow - it is very close but the road can close in an instant.

Janet

Hello to all of you on a gloomy looking Thursday morning (at least here in our corner of Kansas.)  I hope this means some moisture is coming our way!

Carol, that sounds like a good way to do the picking (of things to give your kids.)  I will try to remember that for future use!

I am going to eat lunch with my Youth Friends today.  It has been three weeks, and they may be thinking I have forgotten them, but I haven't.  We were away in New Mexico, then Spring Break, then I was working, and so it goes.  :-\

Ruth Ann, what a good summary--"If you're not living in the overflow, you're living in the undertow."  Thanks for sharing that!

I just heard about a little girl dying of diabetes because the parents didn't believe in medicine.  How sad.  YES, our God still heals today, but He also uses doctors and medicine.  Such cases serve to cause people to distrust Christianity, I think.

Pat, were the highway shootings in Virginia anywhere near where Paul would have been driving?  How terrible that some idiots think that shooting at cars is some kind of sport!  :o >:( :(

I just stopped in to say hello, now will get on with my day.
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

I left for work as usual this morning and soon will have to leave for work again.

Tonight is the curling club dinner  and I have not been home long after getting my hair done.

Ya'll have a great day.   Ruth

Things are not going as planned at work today. (We are self employed)  Can I get intercessory prayer?  I want to stand and "see" the Glory of the Lord, but my faith is weak :(  I know he will come through we we need it, but sometimes its scary during the wait!

God has provided everything we needed for so long, that being self employed has been a joy, but with the downturn in the economy lately, sometimes a "real" job looks promising!  But I know that is not what God has for us.   :)

Thanks for letting me vent a minute, now must get back to work

This has been a rough day.  I came in to 3 tasks, and i now have 10.  Wow where did they all come from.  Can people ever be cranky.  They forget that they are human too.  BUT the sun is shining and I will be off soon.

I must go and get some more done today.

God Bless JudyB
